I believe this is a franchise. There seemed to be a few employees one might rank at the high end of a scale while many others would be at the bottom end. This location was much better than what was evidently a corporately-owned McDonald’s down the block that we stopped at on Duke Street. I don’t expect concierge treatment at any McDonald’s but at least want the service to speak English. The only plus I wasn’t driven away by an extremely cold AC setting like I was down the block.

Thurs 2÷5÷14: Poor customer service. Nobody to take order at menu board. Pulled up to first window/no cashier. pulled up to second window. cashier on front line slowly walks over with an annoyed look on her face. I tell her nobody was available to take my order. she actually told me to go back around. I told her I’d be sure to put it on Unilocal. She could have easily taken my order at the front line register. she was just standing there doing nothing when I pulled up. when I pulled back to order board a guy took my order and another woman with the head set on gave me my order. where the hell was everybody.

This is the only McDonald’s located near the Landmark shopping center, in the City of Alexandria. The food and service is adequate. As ably portrayed in the photos appended to this review, the interior of this McDonald’s is definitely classy. Unfortunately, its logistics get it a three-star rating. This restaurant is sandwiched in between a busy side street and a medical professional building. It can only be accessed from a heavily used frontage road. The parking lot is small. A city fire station is located directly behind the restaurant, so there’s a good reason for pedestrians and motorists to be on the lookout for fire and rescue vehicles.

Wow the staff here is very rude to customers. First time I saw the cashier fighting with a woman who said she didnt want bacon and instead of apologizing and getting her another one he just went and took it off himself. The second time a gentleman took the wrong drink and the woman in broken english started yelling at him. Whatever happened to customer service?!

Every time I go here I end up going through the drive through twice because they forget something. Check your order before pulling forward. The worst was when I went right before closing, got home and realized they had forgotten my nuggets. It was too late to turn around and go back. I really wanted those nugs…

I’ve determined the best combination of salt and sugar for my buck. $ 3.30 to be exact. Dollar menu. Grilled onion and cheddar burger made of sad mistreated cows, followed by two side salads topped with Newman’s Own dressing, and ask for a cup for water. You don’t need that soda, Tubby. Neither do I. This McDonald’s is clean and sunny, busy, and has free wifi and a TV tuned to the Evil Yellow«journalists» of CNN. If they change the channel to the quilting network, or something more benign, I’ll add a star.

it’s a drive thru, I know and how can you give it a review? Well, I want to because of the experience I had there a few days ago. I saw a long line of cars around the store, and thought«ut-oh…» but soon enough a girl was coming to my car with a tablet taking my order. Good thing I knew what I wanted. Had I needed to look at the menu we would have had a problem since I was no where near it yet. But it sped things up and I drove up to the first window and paid. That woman was very nice. Fast forward to the actual pick up window. NIGHTMARE! I pull up and a woman opens the window, says not a single word and basically thrusts the bag at me so hard and fast that it crushed on impact with my hand. Meanwhile, my drink is not ready. So there I sat for nearly five minutes as my food gets cold. Then the drink comes, she opnes the window and shoves the drink at me and tries to close the window as fast as possible, to which I screamed, «have a nice day, you witch!!!» Ugh…never again. By the time I got home everything was cold, my french fries were crushed and all over the bottom of the bag and I was so upset I could hardly eat. No more fast food. It’s not worth it. Now when i think of it I just laugh, but really… with all of the people looking for work can;t that place find someone a little less mean for the take out window? I swear I felt like I was being punked.

Poor customer service and managers are awful. I do not recommend. Too bad I had to give one star because they deserve nothing.

It doesn’t matter what time I visit: the service is always dreadfully slow, which is pretty funny for a purported fast food restaurant(amirite?). At peak times, I have seen the line serviced by one lonely cashier. Drive-through is not much better, and the line of cars can wrap around the building. The most annoying thing about the drive through, though, is when you pull up to the order screen. The first thing you hear is what seems to be an actual employee inside the building, asking if you’d like to try some new special, but it’s actually a recording. If you decline the offer and try to place your order, you hear nothing in return and you feel dumb. Then it takes about five seconds for a real person to come on the speaker and you’re forced to repeat your order because you just wasted your time talking to a recording. The one saving grace is that the restaurant staff are polite and generally cheerful. As far as food, McDonald’s would be nothing if it were not consistent. Consistently delicious!

I have to give this place at least 3-stars if nothing for the shear number of times I’ve gone through the drive thru and picked up an Egg McMuffin. For the most part this location is fairly efficient but the logistics of the drive thru can be a nightmare at busy times — at which point you’re better off parking and running inside instead of the chaos of driver leaving the DT having to cross over the line of folks waiting to order. All in all though the place is good. Never had an order screwed up — never had to pull the ol’ «can I have salt-free fries» trick to make sure I get hot ones.

My expectations are never high for McDonald’s. We know it’s the biggest fast food chain and someone is pocketing a lot of money. Anyways, I have been to this one a couple of times. Sometimes I’ve ordered something for breakfast in the drive-thru and on weekdays it is always packed. There are times I look at my clock and drive away. The times I do go through the ladies are usually very nice and my food is as I wanted it. Also, I’ve gone in the drive-thru for a sundae a couple of times during the evening or weekends and they are usually on top of it.

For me, Mickey D’s is a rare, but necessary evil when you have no time to go anywhere else. I should’ve just let my stomach grumble for another couple of hours. Worst fries ever. It was like they had been sitting out all day and reheated. We all know the burgers are crap now, so at LEAST get the fries right.

I never expect too much from Mcdonalds. I’m always prepared to expect that the cashier is rude and ghetto and the ice cream machine is going to be broken. Hey It’s only the biggest restaurant franchise in the world. But I went inside to grab a quick breakfast(the only food I like at McD’s) after church and I was surprised at how nice the interior is. It’s themed like Old Town Alexandria and it feels very welcoming inside. The cashiers and service were pretty decent, they weren’t rude and ghetto and I got my food pretty fast. If I was single and had to take girl to Mcdonalds I’d take her to this one

3 stars even. I’m doing my review for the same reason as Mike T, as the McD’s across the street from where I live got a full redo. As for the food, it was standard McDonald’s fare. If you expect anything more than that, seriously… what is wrong with you? The one proviso that I will make to that is that like Mike T, said… the fries are«do you want some fry with your salt» salty. Secondly, the staff is the same as the old staff, but apparently everything has been moved, so they seem to struggle to find things like sweet & sour sauce. Where I’m going to focus my review is the décor. McDonald’s restaurants are and have always been totally cookie cutter. You can sit down in a McDonalds anywhere and feel like you are someplace else, magically teleported to Ronald McDonaldland where the palette is pale pastels and the apple pies are 2 for a dollar. The biggest change is that even though you are at McDonalds, you still know you are in Alexandria. The art on the wallpaper, the glass façade that separates the kitchen ordering area from the dining room, all local scenes such as Alexandria City Hall, the Washington Masonic Memorial, the Wilson Bridge. It’s definitely a beautiful touch, and one that I hope they continue as they move along. Secondly, the bench seating is very comfortable. They are padded, both on the back, and on the seat. I avoided the space age ucky yellow chairs like the plague, they even looked uncomfortable. I also much appriciated the slats, not because I care about being seen at a McDonalds. But, because the background of Duke Street takes away from the McCafe façade. However, the façade evaporates when you walk to place your order, the moment you walk up to the counter, bam, it loses the façade and the cool look. Plus, it doesn’t matter HOW cool your look is, if the tables aren’t clean. So, I love the new look… But, keep the place clean.
