I tried to place an order twice, their phone was so bad I couldn’t hear the person on the phone, then when I asked for my sandwich they kept asking which one is that? I just have up and called jersey mikes

This location is atrocious. After it took me a good 5 – 6 attempts at getting the person taking my order to get my correct street address and correct order, I get a call 10 minutes after I placed my order saying I’m outside of their delivery zone. I’m 1.5 miles away. Perhaps the time to tell me they won’t deliver to me would be before they run my credit card!!! They ran my credit card and now I have to wait 4 days to get my money back for a meal I never received in the first place. The manager was unwilling to accommodate me in any way. No way will I be giving this place my money again. I’ll also be contacting corporate. Very disappointed.

Sad day. Jimmy John’s has succumbed to the chain-expands-and-quality-dies syndrome, which seems to happen to most restaurants eventually. For years I’ve been enjoying sammiches at the chain, first in D.C. and then in Virginia. Last night’s visit to this fairly new Route 1 location is my last. The quality of ingredients has always been good. But now, freshness is out the window due to cost. My roast beef sub — an item I have loved about 20 times — was made with old meat. I could tell when they were making it that it had a dark off-color right out of the wrapper. And when i ate it, it indeed tasted wrong and old. Threw it away after a few bites. $ 7 down the drain and still hungry. No more delicious roast beef at Jimmy John’s, that’s not what they’re about anymore. They are about expanding locations into places where(I guess) they don’t get quite enough business, and are forced to cut corners. The staff(two young girls) was well trained, friendly and polite. But now the food is bad at Jimmy Johns. Sad.

Its Jimmy Johns so… its good. But what I don’t understand about this location is how I NEVER get hot peppers when I request them. On my last trip i even said it nice and slow and the cashier repeated it. Before walking away I said its going to have hot peppers right? «Oh right sorry forgot» I’ve brought this to managements attention in the past. I can only assume they just don’t care… Perhaps Ill just start driving a little farther for my Jimmy Johns. I suggest you do to. lol. As I’m sitting here typing this another customer is complaining about last time someone forgot his sliced pickles. lol What a joke this place is…

After writing to Jimmy John’s about my last experience(yes, the quality was that disappointing that I wrote Jimmy John’s) the manager contacted me to find out what happened. Well, he invited me back and it took me damn near six months to take him up on his offer(because I had no intentions to ever eat here again). But I needed something to eat quick because I was on the go, so I came here. My experience was completely different from my first. The sandwich(the Beach Club with cucumbers, avocado and turkey) was so good. The bread was soft and the service was top notch. I guess on my first visit, I caught them on a bad day. Glad I decided to try them out again.

Good food fast. Loved the staff as they were patient during my first time here with my dad. We’ll be back for sure.

I was working across the street from this location one Sunday and ordered a tuna sub. It took them over 30 mins to deliver my sub. But that wasn’t the worst part. That tuna sub will go down in history as the worst thing I’ve ever tasted. It was disgusting! It was over loaded with shredded brown lettuce. Mayonnaise was gushing out of it so by the time it got to me the bread was soggy. And the tuna! The tuna tasted like it came straight from the sea and dumped on the bread. It wasn’t prepared, no seasoning, no flavor and it smelled. I took one bite and nearly puked. Im not saying to not eat from this place, but avoid the tuna sub by all means. I certainly wont be back.

I gotta say that I’m a Jimmy John’s fan from the start, and I haven’t really ever been to one that I didn’t like. Now, I noticed that a lot of the problems that people have with this location is the delivery is awful. I cannot confirm/deny this because I was a dine-in customer, but I can tell you that I really enjoyed my dine-in experience. When my boyfriend and I walked in, there were no other customers in the store. I saw that there were a bunch of teens in the corner sitting at a table with a few employees, but as soon as I entered the restaurant, the workers at the table got up and greeted us. That surprised me, as I thought they would just continue on with goofing off and not take their job seriously. I was greeted when I entered the restaurant by the person at the register. I ordered my usual(Turkey Tom) and so did my boyfriend at first. However, with the amount of extras he had on it(guac, etc) the cashier recommended another item on the menu which had the same things on it, but was a dollar or so cheaper. I thought it was really nice of him to suggest that to us. The sandwich wasn’t made«freaky fast» because I went to the bathroom and came out and it still wasn’t ready despite the place being empty, but it came out soon afterwards. Like ever other JJs, it tasted really fresh and I liked how cold it was. The tables and floor were clean, the workers were really nice, and the food was great. They even gave us an extra loaf of bread that they baked because it was past the freshness standards of the place. I’m glad they didn’t just throw the food away because I don’t mind if the ends of my bread are a bit hard. If you’re a two minute drive away from this location, I’d recommend just going in and picking up the sandwich yourself. It’s located in a big shopping plaza with a bunch of parking so there’s really no reason not to.

Should be negative one stars because I live only 1.2 miles away and there cut off is 2 miles I was going to make a large order but I guess they don’t to make more money.

Their delivery range is really small to keep the slogan«freaky fast deliveries» too bad I’m only 2.1 miles away and had my delivery rejected. So unless you live next to them and your house is on fire nothing freaky fast coming your way. If I wasn’t in a large truck I would have picked it up the food order.

I have only had Jimmy Johns once and it was from this location. However, it took almost 2 hours to get my food. Not so «freaky fast» huh? Their excuse? They were baking bread… ok. but that should not have taken 2 hours and my sandwich shouldn’t have been hard if it was fresh. While edible, it wasn’t great. Fast forward a couple months to last night: Decide to give it another shot thinking maybe last time was a crazy fluke. We were told that it would take 20 – 30 minutes to receive our order. An hour goes by. We call. We are assured it should be there any minute, they are sorry there is only one driver. Almost another full hour goes by and nothing. We call again. This time their excuse is that they gave the ONE driver the wrong address but would be happy to fill another order for us and have it delivered. Oh, so we can wait another TWO hours? Me thinks not. So, I didn’t even get my sandwich last night and suffice it to say, I will not be giving this location another chance, EVER. How hard is it to make a couple sandwiches and drive 2 minutes to deliver it? Obviously really hard. I’d rather drive to another location myself if I ever want to try Jimmy John’s again… or maybe I will just stick to Jersey Mike’s Subs.

Normally the bread is fresh. However, it was hard as a rock this time. I inquired about why it was so hard and the manager said, «it’s about to expire.» I then told her it was really hard to chew and swallow. She just looked at me and said, «sorry about that and have a good one.’ Don’t know why she said have a good one, because I was eating inside. Whoa! As I am typing this review the manager looked at me. I told her that maybe the bread was hard because the inside part of it was removed by the preparer. So, the manager then said. «That’s how we prepare it; remove the insides and that’s why it may be hard. I’m sorry and next time you can ask for the inside not to be taken out.» Well, I won’t be returning to this Jimmy John’s and will drive to the one in the Carlyle district.

The service was fast, but not great. I asked to try hot peppers for my sub and they just told me they didn’t have a container. I would have taken them on a napkin… I don’t care I just wanted to try them on my sandwich. The side conversations of the people not on register distracted the cashier while she was taking orders. The sandwich itself was nothing impressive. There was so much bread compared to meat and cheese.

My experience wasn’t terrible, but this wasn’t one of the best Jimmy John’s I’ve been to. They forgot to put in hot peppers in my veggie club and I didn’t realize this until I got home. I do remember hearing the person in line, in front of me, who dined there, come back up to the counter to say the hot peppers were forgotten. On another note, Jimmy John’s is supposed to fast. They were a bit slow here even before the lunch hour rush.

Jimmy Johns specializes in quickly serving cold sandwiches on fresh bread. The price /product /service is unbeatable compared to other fast food sandwich places in Alexandria Virginia(e.g. Subway, Italian Deli, Jersey Mikes, Panera etc.). The location at Kings Crossing is nice … except for the constant traffic on Richmond Highway which can be a pain to wait through. At the time of writing this Jimmy Johns is a new location so that may be why they’re currently so awesome. Side note: They deliver sandwiches quickly and cheaply; they’ll even deliver just one sandwich Side note: They do not serve any hot sandwiches here

I’ve been to other jimmy johns and I normally love it, but this place just fell short. The bread tasted a bit stale, old and hard. And as I was eating I saw them getting the bread dough ready for the oven but they weren’t wearing gloves! Unsanitary!!! Very disappointed in this jimmy johns!

A lot of people in this area have told me that this place has some of the best subs. While they were edible, they weren’t anything to write home about. A few steps above Subway but I didn’t feel like they were giving me anything I couldn’t re-create in my own kitchen. And since when do you need to request a sub be cut in half? Who the heck wants to hold a full sub to their mouth and look completely ridiculous when it all comes tumbling out the other end? Not me. Ante up the flavor and get a clue on a kitchen knife Jimmy and then give me a call.
