Don’t go here expecting service. Went for lunch with two of my friends. When we came in it wasn’t very busy, probably 3 – 4 other tables with customers. The waiter came and took our order and then brought us our drinks. A half hour later he returns to tell us, ‘I forgot your order’. He proceeded to have us tell him again our order so he could then give it to the kitchen. No, he was not the only waiter and yes he appeared to be just waiting tables. The food is ok, but based upon the service I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

This is the best hang out spot in the Belle haven/view area. It is always packed. Food is delicious.

The good, sandwiches & burgers. Good price and good portion. Try the potato totts. The bad, the pizza. I’m not that picky but what we had 2x was just bad. The expensive, the specials, they are very good but small portion for the cost. Have to add a $ 10 salad for my husband to be full. Desserts are not wonderful but the ice cream custard is. So skip dessert inside and get a cone at the outside window!!! Oh and bring a sweater, it’s freezing inside summer and winter.

The pizza roll bites were a highlight. Good beer program. The pizza is not very good. The crust is soggy and lacks flavor. We ordered a white pizza with tomatoes that lacked any flavor. Tomatoes are out of season. Why not just leave them off? Seasoning was off as well. The restaurant needs to go back to the drawing board if they want to compete with other local restaurants.

This place can do no wrong, as far as I am concerned. My husband and I come here all the time and have never had a bad product. Their beer selection is awesome, craft, caters to everybody, and ever rotating. Their wings are smoked and always on point. We love their happy hour pizza rolls that are always changing, and pizza is DELICIOUS! The wait staff is always fun, happy and works hard to give you a personable atmosphere. They even grow a lot of their ingredients in their backyard!

Good pizza and beer. Wait staff is friendly and fast. Food is consistent and very good. The bartenders know their products and make good recommendations. Only issue is limited size, so get there early

Service was good even though they were super busy. Pan pizza was terrible. Would’ve rather spent my money on papa johns. Would only go back for beer and tator tots.

I’ve been a fan of the Del Ray location for awhile and was thrilled to have another food option in my area! We went the first time right after they opened and worried it might be a bad experience but we were pleasantly surprised! Every time we’ve been we’ve had excellent service and great food. When the weather is nice the outside patio is fantastic. They have taken great measures to make a comfortable gathering space, right near the garden. We have found our favorite spot is the patio for an early dinner with the kids. There are lots of family’s, corn hole and places to lounge on the little hill. We have seen many people get take out pizza and eat on blankets. They stay BUSY. You may have to wait some time for a table. My only complaint and the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars: it’s too small :(We don’t really try and go in the winter months because of that reason. I’m not sure there is much room for expansion. The staff does a great job of moving tables as fast as they can. But we mostly frequent the spot during the nicer days when we can sit outside and go early to make sure we don’t wait too long with the kids. So just prepare that you might have to wait, it’s a sign the service and the food are great! Also, LOVE the DRP Custard Shack during the summer months. Such a great addition to the neighborhood. We were there on my daughters birthday and ordered a giant brownie sundae covered in custard and all the toppings! Thanks for opening on the other side of the beltway! We’re happy you’re here :)

Came here for a early evening drink with a couple co-workers. Was super excited to try the Fullsteam takeover, and SO thrilled that they had Founders KBS still! Had the tacos and the pizza rolls and they FAR exceeded expectations. The atmosphere was SO friendly and everyone had a smile– could have been a product of such a beautiful day. Justin was the bar tender– very helpful when it came to picking out a beer… or two, and stayed attentive and energetic all night, despite a 3-person-deep bar. This place is right down the street from my house and I’d never been. My only regret– it took me so long to walk in! Will absolutely see y’all again soon!

Just an all-around nice place to spend the evening, drinking from a great selection of beers and chowing on some unique pizza concoctions. The smoked hummus is perfect in every way. The Maui Wowie can handle all of your hawaiian pizza cravings and the Lil Pig ain’t no slouch.

Have been here for pizza and beer a couple times. Quite often very busy but they seem to be able to turn the tables. Good neighborhood spot. What keeps me coming back are the tatertots though. Theirs are very good. I tried breakfast here today and loved it. I really like breakfast versions of lunch foods and DRP has plenty of those. Had the breakfast Rueben and enjoyed it. Again, tatertots. The only reason not 5 stars is that the service can be spotty. The food sure is good though.

Was thrilled to see the Mt. Vernon Ave DRP come to my neck of the woods, but after four visits I’m sad to say that it’s not really at the top of our«go to» list. We are a family of four with two kids under 13 so we’re not concerned with the craft beers and the active bar scene, so ignore this review if that’s what your after. Food is very good, and every entrée that we’ve tried exhibited some degree of creativity from the kitchen. Wish I was more excited about the pizza, but I ain’t. It’s certainly good, but with pizza in their name I thought it would be better. Pete’s New Haven or Fireworks still have my fave pizza. Breakfast, however, is fantastic. Their potatoes are to die for, and if my wife is to be believed(??) then they have the best breakfast burrito around. Pancakes are excellent too, and the French toast is so large that it will feed half of an entire boy scout troop. Service is competent, albeit somewhat indifferent. The wait staff don’t make mistakes that would raise your eyebrows and have you digging out your phone to tell the world in an on-the-spot Unilocal review or FB post, but they just don’t seem to care much. Not engaging; no smiles; just going through the motions and earning a paycheck. Too bad, because DRP’s service is what stops me from giving them a coveted 5 star review. Oh, and the atmosphere always seems a little cold to us Needs a little _something_to warm the place up.

Dell Ray Pizzeria in Bell Haven is one location which is part of a larger chain of other similar restaurants. This spot is located a few miles from the hustle and bustle of Old Town. The definite appeal for me here is the«neighborhood bar» feel. Surrounding the restaurant are many town homes and other residential areas. Personally, coming from the Ft. Hunt area it is the closest bar other than Mt. Vernon. The short drive on the parkway was all too alluring for me to dismiss. Also, after noticing a few check ins on my beer drinking app of a somewhat famous Bourbon County Brand Stout I knew I could not wait any longer. For those that don’t know this beer is exceptionally well known, highly rated and hard to get. I have been trying to hunt down this whale for a long time and was more than impressed that they were able to get a keg of the liquid gold. Needless to say we immediately came upon hearing this news on a Thursday evening and sat at the bar. I noticed many customers referring to the staff by first name and vica versa. The couple sitting next to us were eager to converse and get to know us. I knew then that DRP was quickly becoming my new neighborhood bar. The pizza was excellent. My wife had a salad pizza that she enjoyed as well. The menu is rather large and offered many things I plan on getting on my next visit. I also learned the chef has a garden out back that many ingredients are taken from, cool! As if you need another reason to visit, they regularly do brewery nights on Tuesdays. Here, they have a local brewery come and showcase their new or limited release beers often paired with tacos. Again my theme here is a spot where locals come to enjoy good food, great beer and good conversation. I get the sense that rating your«regular spot» seems almost wrong and biased but I will if I must. Either way we will be back for a long time to come. Thanks!

We were able to be seated rather quickly, even tho the place was packed. However that was the end of our good experience. The service was the worst I have ever experienced. Our server didn’t check on us once while we ate. He took away our beverages(adult) and it took him about 5 minutes to ask if we wanted a refill. I asked for another, which he forgot about until we were ready to leave. Then he offered to bring it out(desert perhaps). I am a vegetarian and gluten intolerant, which makes eating out a bit difficult. I like that they serve GF pizza but it isn’t something I would find myself craving. Their tater tots, however are outstanding. I am also excited to find a place that serves Crabbie’s(ginger beer).

The best crust I’ve ever had. For my first experience at DRP we ordered the hot chicks pizza, per a recommendation from a friend. The flavor was phenomenal but the crust?! The crust was light, fluffy, not greasy and literally melted in my mouth. I love pizza but DRP takes pizza to another level. I’ll never order delivery pizza ever again! We went on a Friday night and had to wait about 20 mins for a table. They have a great beer selection so we didn’t mind hanging out at the bar which was bustling with locals. Good family spot but also a fun date night spot. I will be back!

Del Rey Pizzeria’s Belle Haven location makes me wish I still lived around the corner from the lot that was formerly Pat’s Market. With the loss of Ceviche and Pupusas by the former neighborhood convenience mart that sold bags of ice and live bait, in comes Del Rey Pizza to bring a gathering hub to the lower Belle View/Belle Haven area, whose choices were once limited to whatever was in the Belle View Shopping Center. Granted pizza at Primo’s after little league tournaments was a great standby for families. Though Del Rey Pizza brings a welcome breath of fresh air to the community. I have never actually eaten at the location that presumable gave the Pizzeria it’s namesake, so I can’t compare the two locations. My experience here, was good. The Pizza was wonderful, they had a large selection of interesting topping combinations, and if nothing strikes your fancy, there’s the create your own option. The restaurants interior is much larger than the outside appears to be. The atmosphere is warm and modern. It feels local. The pizza options come in ten, twelve, and fourteen inch pies, though the ten & fourteen inch options are more of a thinner crust and the twelve inch teeters on the line of being a deep dish style pie, your waiter should explain this to you. The 14″ Butcher’s Cut($ 19) was a great option and I did add smoked mozzarella as an additional topping because I’m a sucker for any smoky flavors. The crust was decent, though it could’ve been somewhat crispier, it was still a good pizza none the less. Service was very good though it took a while to catch our waiters attention in order to settle the check. They have a large selection of craft beers, and many from local breweries. AND they have growlers. There’s also a custard stand next door, I’ll be sure to try. Probably would have hadn’t I been en route to Ben & Jerry’s to redeem a Specialicious voucher that was to expire the same day. I may be a little late, but welcome to the neighborhood Del Rey Pizzeria, you’re a much needed addition.

Last night we went back to DRP after our little bump with the red pepper on the Midnight Marauder pizza from the last visit. I I had corresponded with the manager and he was very response. Last nights visit was flawless. We waited at the bar for our table. We enjoyed a Blood Orange Margarita($ 12) and a Vanilla Bean Old Fashion($ 10). Both were top notch, but very small and not worth the price. Dinner was the staple Grilled Cesar. The salad is so good. The dressing is good, but what sets it over the top is the charred lettuce. We ordered the tater tots. They are simple, but good. They are crispy with a dash of salt and pepper. The pizza we enjoyed was a half Jenny’s Veg and half Butcher’s Block. It was all great. I am so glad I live just down the road!

My husband and I went on a Thursday night after work, which is around 8:00PM. The parking lot was completely full, so we parked at the lot for the office building next door. I was anticipating walking in that we would have to wait, but there were two tables open and we were immediately seated. This definitely feels like an upscale local hangout. The place was packed with families, groups of friends, couples having dinner, and people after a lacrosse game. We live about a mile away so I really want this to be a go to place. The place in nicely decorated and the staff were all very nice. We decided to order: Pizza– This Lil’ Pig Of Mine– basil pesto, prosciutto, fresh mozz, oven dried tomatoes. We ordered the small which came with 4 pieces and would be plenty for one person or two with salads or an appetizer. The tomatoes were whole oven roasted cherry tomatoes that burst with flavor when you bit into them. I was a little disappointed in the prosciutto as i was expecting it to have been cooked on the pizza and crispy. it was just laid on the top after cooking. Also the pesto tasted like it was made from spinach instead of basil and could have used some salt to add flavor. I liked the crust as it was chewy and bubbly from a hot oven. The center was a little soggy though. Entrée-Carolina Gold Jambalaya shrimp, andouille, chicken, crawfish, shellfish redux I would recommend this dish. The flavors were excellently Cajun and rich. The seafood was cooked perfectly and with a dash of Tabasco the heat was just right. I am excited to try this place again. The tater tots looked amazing as well as the burgers and deep dish pizzas.

I have been waiting for this one to open for awhile. This used to be the location of my dearly departed Pat’s Market, and watching DRP’s construction has only built up the anticipation for some delicious pizza to the point of madness. It is not surprising that as soon as Del Ray Pizza’s Belle Haven location opened its doors, the place was crammed with pizza-lovers eager to try some artisan pizza. I was able to get in here on the third day, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that DRP’s pizza was as good as I had imagined in my mozzarella inspired dreams. I ordered a personal pizza with extra cheese and mushroom, a pie that went to the heart of my pizza soul. Fresh ingredients certainly rule the day at Belle Haven’s DRP, and my pizza’s crust had a chewy hint of old New York. My only wish was that there had been just a little more cheese on my pizza, for when I order extra cheese, I really want the cheese to blanket the crust. However, DRP’s pizza was still excellent, and I see no reason to let a little thing like a cheese discrepancy to come between my appetite and a tasty pizza. I was seated at the bar which placed me in the perfect position to observe the kitchen. Chef Lippe is obviously a pro, and his kitchen staff operates with the smoothness and grace of seasoned professionals. It is hard to believe that this team has only been in operation for less than a week, but I am certain that my future pizzas is in good hands. A four star rating is really remarkable for only the third day of operation, and I am certain that it can only get better, Still, some areas of improvement include parking and bar space. The parking lot is small, but I am told that the adjacent lot opens up to DRP’s customers after five, so this may be a simple fix. As for bar space, things are tight here and the potential for clutter will need to be addressed, for stray papers, plates, and such did seem to litter areas of the back and side bars. Also, the bar area and the dinning area are right on top of one another, so the potential for an over zealous bar patron interfering with the dining expereince of a family is there. However, that being said, DRP stands as a wonderful addition to the Belle Haven communty, and is soon to become the most beloved pizzeria of the neighborhood.
