Very disappointed. This is in one of my favorite hotels. The menu is very sad, the prices are way too much, and the food isn’t good. My wife and I ordered something simple hoping it would suffice. We were very let down. I had the crab cake sliders and I ended up being sick to my stomach to the point of throwing up that night. My wife had the club sandwich and quit half way through. How do you mess up a club? If you stay at this hotel, eat around the corner and save yourself the trouble.

I travel a lot, this place is a little gem inside of the embassy suites. Had the callamari at the bar. Was soon good I ordered another. Was so big I could not finish. A case of my eyes are bigger than my stomach. This was so good I had a very hard time stopping myself, urg…, I will learn one day. The place has a great small selection and no need to venture out. Hats off to Aiden the bar tender. Have never seen anyone tend to customers so quickly and he seems to know everyone by name and what they are drinking. Not an easy task from a hotel. Fred the. manager, makes you feel like you are a welcomed family member taking a true interest in your experience. I would be honored to return when coming back thru. BTW, they have a happy hour from 430 – 730 giving free drinks of limited selection but they will make whatever you want from a. fairly well stocked bar. And when. you return, they will have another ready when you get back to the front of the long line of customers. Again, never whiteness anyone serving customers this fast and still making you feel welcomed like a brothet/sister. Great job all.

Poor service, long wait for mediocre food. This hotel, Embassy Suites Alexandria needs to improve this restaurant for the sake of its customers. A better choice for dinner would be to go to the food court in Whole Foods nearby. The pizza was on flat bread & tasted like card board. After dinner we were upset when we saw the beautiful pizza slices at Whole Foods. We definitely will buy take out at Whole Foods &;even supplement our breakfast here at the Embassy Suites, Alexandria, VA

Really good, filling, flavorful dishes that rival any in this old town neighborhood. Don’t opt for a salad, or something generic like chicken tenders, go for steak, fish or any, chefs special. Quiet, typically no wait times because it’s tucked away on the first floor of the Embassy Suites Hotel in Alexandria. Wait staff is attentive and friendly. Perfect for a rainy day and you don’t want to go far find great food. Crab cakes are a must!

So, we walked in, and it was busy but there was no line to get seated. Also no host… Eventually a harried host arrived and seated us. We wanted to be outdoors on a beautiful night, and were able to. Unfortunately, they didn’t tell our waiter we were there for quite some time. Eventually we were served, and the food was fine. I would have given 3 stars, but then the bill came. The menu listed wine with three prices: the Virginia Chardonnay I ordered listed 5÷10÷38. A reasonable person would assume the 5 was for a glass, 10 maybe a half carafe, and 38 bottle. We’ll we were charged $ 10 for a glass. When we inquired, we were told that the actual breakdown is taste(about an ounce)/glass/bottle. Really, $ 5 for an ounce of Virginia Chardonnay? Anyway, we’re locals, and are always looking for a good place to eat. The Caprese lost our business forever.

Slow service, poor food. The turkey club comes with cold turkey(freezer?) and a heap load of lays. Not recommended.

After seeing Caprese offering a Restaurant Week lunch deal, we decided to pay them a visit. I have walked past Caprese hundreds of times on the way to the metro, but never would have thought to come here for lunch… and it seemed like nobody else did either, because we were 2 of 4 people that we saw in the restaurant the entire time we were there. I really liked the lavosh and hummus basket that we recieved after ordering. The Balsamic Chicken, which came with an arugula, mozzarella and tomato salad, was great. The chicken was cooked just right and the veggies were fresh. My girlfriend’s Jambalaya Pasta was also tasty, and the portion sizes were generous. The service was great. It took a while for us to get seated, but our waiter was friendly and quick to refill our drinks. Wouldn’t mind coming back for another lunch, even at the normal prices!

Ehhh… It was okay. It’s a restaurant located inside of a hotel. My friend and I wanted to try this place for restaurant week because it was $ 10.00 per person, which we thought was a pretty good deal, but we ended up missing the lunch time deal and ended up getting the dinner restaurant week deal, which was pretty pricy, so we decided to just pick something off the regular menu. There wasn’t much to choose from in the menu. I ended up getting a flat bread with figs, olives, and arugula. When I got it, I was pretty disappointed in the portion of the food. It was tiny! Luckily, I ate a quick snack right before. The taste of the food was mediocre. It had sweet figs scattered on my flat bread and it balanced well with the salty elements on the flat bread, but nothing that great. Service was slow, but a really pretty view to sit and eat. The hotel itself was pretty and was decorated nicely.

When I came in to Caprese I had fairly high expectations, simply based on the décor and the location in an Embassy Suites. I ordered the mushroom risotto and added salmon for several dollars more. The food was brought out fairly quickly. While the risotto was creamy and flavorful, the salmon was absolutely bland, like they had stuck it on the grill for a little bit and then brought it out without laying a culinary finger on it. It did provide a nice break from the risotto, though, which I find, regardless of quality, can become tiresome and repetitive simply by its nature. I probably wouldn’t recommend unless you’re staying at the hotel, it’s just a bit too pricey.

My family and I decided to dine here, much to our regret. Although the food was hot, fresh and tasty, the service was the worst! 20 minutes after being seated, went to find a server. Food took forever, and arrived without any napkins or silverware having been delivered. Took 5 minutes to get those. Never even a half hearted ‘sorry’, much less a sincere apologie was offered. If you have 3 or 4 hors for a meal, it might be ok.

Service was good. But food quality has gone down hill. Beef kabobs were stringy and large chunks of fat. Not tender and delightful like before.

I cannot attest to the food, mainly because I was never able to sit down and actually eat there. I recently moved to Alexandria, and my mom and sister were visiting from out of town for a weekend. On a Sunday evening, we decided to try Caprese because I pass it each day on my way to and from the metro. It is a great location and the outdoor patio always looks inviting. The interior looks great, and I always see someone sitting on the patio. When we arrived, the entire restaurant was empty with no one around. We asked the Embassy Suites concierge(it is connected to the lobby of the hotel), and they told us to go to the entrance where we originally came in through. We went back there, thinking we had made a mistake. Nope — still no one there. We then went up to the bartender(the entrance is closer to the hotel bar), and the bartender proceed to yell into the kitchen that there was«someone at Caprese.» She said that someone would be out soon to seat us. After waiting for five minutes, no one came out to us. When we returned to the bartender to tell her that we were leaving, she did not seem to care. The restaurant states that they are open from 11 am — 11 pm every day, yet the fact that absolutely no one was around to seat guests(at dinner time, mind you), was unsettling. We questioned how the service would be even if we did stay for dinner. I hope to try the food one day because the menu does look good, but my first impression was not a good one!

Not much Mediterranean about it. Just a mix of foods, nothing special. The evening staff was very slow and out food came out at different times. Food is typical hotel type but for the money I’d eat elsewhere.

I must say I was disappointed with this place after reading all the other 5 star reviews. I don’t know what happened the night we dined here. I came here for Restaurant Week. Things I liked: + Beautiful interior design. The hotel on the inside is beautiful so it was nice to walk through. It had a fountain close to the bathroom, high ceilings, comfy and beautiful colored booths to sit in. The lighting was bright. + The complimentary pita and hummus were both delicious. + The manager of the night was very nice. We had some complications but he was very friendly and took care of it for us. + The salads were good. + The chocolate cake was very decadent and heavy and yummy. + My guest and I stayed a long time to catch up so it was nice being able to stay at the restaurant without being rushed out. I appreciated them letting us stay so long. Things I had problems with: –I made a reservation but it took 20 mins. for someone to stop and ask us if we needed anything. We were standing there looking around for someone to help and saw many people walk by but no one paid attention to us. –The waitress for some reason brought out my entrée before bringing out my appetizer. She asked if I would like my appetizer first and I said yes… She looked annoyed and took back my entrée. So now I know my entrée has already been made a lot earlier before I finally got it and it was cold when I finally ate it. The steak I got was also very dry and kind of hard on the outside. This was suppose to be a medium steak. It was just not… good. =/I ate it because it was a steak but… that was the only reason. The entrée was mostly potatoes. — I had called days before my reservation to make sure my guest and I do not both have to partake in the Restaurant Week deal(2 for $ 35). The head manager said he would cut the price in half if just one of us did it. But when we got to the restaurant, we had to go through the whole process again but the waitress didn’t believe us and wouldn’t let us do it… that’s when we had to get the manager on duty to work it out for us and he said he would let us do it but… by then, it was already another whole ordeal. I called ahead of time just to avoid this during the night of dining in the first place… Overall, maybe it was just a bad night or I don’t know what. I had high expectations for this place and have major doubts about going back.

The Hummus and Pita was to die for, but when I got my main entrée I wasn’t impressed at all. Roasted potatoes were unseasoned, My flank steak was burnt on the outside, though cooked perfectly on the inside. Service was just okay. They didn’t ask if we wanted drinks and we had to ask to order.

Very nice atmosphere here. You can choose to dine inside or on the patio… the setting/location is awesome! I had the jambalaya and 2 margaritas(on the rocks). The price was hefty… but this restaurant is inside of an amazing hotel. Therefore, I wouldnt dare complain about the pricing. It was worth event dollar spent!!! The service… impeccable as well! I believe the restaurant closed at 11pm. However, there was no rush to leave at 11pm. I plan to visit this hotel/restaurant in the near future :)

We were feeling a little snacky so my daughters and I bought a few appetizers. We tried the caprese salad. Omg the mozzarella was so fresh and the tomatoes were perfect. We also tried wings and quesadilla, chicken. Everything was very good.

I have never had better service from any restaurant EVER! And I do eat out a lot. I would recommend this restaurant to every body; singles, couples, families, etc, whether you are staying at the embassy suites or not. My waiter(Drias) was so kind to me. I do always get a little nervous going to new restaurants(and I went alone). But I was very pleasantly surprised! I had a club sandwich, tomato soup(which tasted like it was made with cheese, or something to make it very flavorful & creamy) and some coffee. Everything hit the spot, leaving me now very full and ready for a nap. When you come to old town this is a must go place. I guarantee that if my waiter is you’re waiter you will be very satisfied.
