Food was okay. The waitress we had seemed frustrated and simply overwhelmed, but maybe she was just having a bad day. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. Have tried the spaghetti and meatballs, meatball subs, crab cakes, and the blt. Nothing really special about their food to be honest. The meatballs were dry, their marinara is, well, different and their crab cakes are filled with breading.

I am honestly confused as to how this place has achieved a 3 star rating. The food here was so bad that I actually took the time to make a Unilocal account so that I could help bring that rating back down to reality. Every place has bad reviews and most of the time it’s from nitpickers or someone who was offended by their ridiculous request not being met, so I usually tend to ignore those. The food here is REALLY bad, I cannot emphasize enough how bad it was. This was the first time that I have ever left a full plate of food on the table and requested the check. After 50 bucks spent I have learned my lesson.

Just moved to the area and found this place on Unilocal, and was excited to try their pizza. Well… I called in for takeout and after working 12 hours, and it now being 9:30 at night, needless to say I am tired and HUNGRY! I get to my car, check the pizza, and it’s wrong. Frustrated, I go inside, explain WHY it’s wrong, and the girl who took my order(AND my generous carry out tip!) proceeds to argue with me that the person who ordered it ordered wrong. Well, since that person was ME… I assured her that it was not ordered wrong(politely I might add), and proceeded to ask how long it will take to make another one. And instead of apologizing, I was met with attitude, PLUS two other people from the kitchen clearly annoyed at the mistake that was not made by me. Again, instead of APOLOGIZING(or any other attempt to appease me), the three of them start talking about the«mistake»(again, I am standing there waiting to find out how long it will be) in front of me instead of putting in the CORRECT order. Needless to say, I had more than enough time to go to my car and write this review, and I’m STILL waiting on the darn pizza! I am SUPERUNHAPPY, and will NEVER come back here. And will proceed to tell anyone who asks about Atlantis Pizzeria & Family Restaurant about my «experience.» What a shame… I just moved around the corner, plus I am a good tipper; and usually pretty easy-going. Instead, I find myself feeling compelled to write this negative review. Ugggg… yes, I chose to take the time to write this, but it’s still time out of my personal universe that I will never get back. Bummer…

Great mom and pop place. It’s been in business for over 20 years. Great pizza, Greek salads, and much more. A family tradition type place.

Very mediocre. I ordered the Athenian gyro and it lacked flavor. I drenched it in peppers and could barely taste a thing. I recommend getting the chicken parmesana gyro because it doesn’t taste half bad. I was not to impressed and I recommend going elsewhere

Average food. Good portion size. Okay spot to grab a quick bite to eat. The space is huge so their is always space. Their American fare is better than their Greek food. Although they do make great soups.

EXCELLENT! I love their pizza and Italian dishes. They have a big variety to choose from and their staff is really nice. I have been here for breakfast, lunch and dinner and enjoyed it each time. I highly recommend!

This place has the best BLT anywhere. It’s not fancy or adulterated in any way, but it’s just what it should be. They don’t skimp on the bacon, and the shredded lettuce is a nice touch. I’ve had a very good burger here and a decent salad but I usually always opt for that BLT, even though the menu is pretty extensive. The waitstaff is very attentive and the dated décor makes it rather charming.

My wife and I get carry out from here about once a month. The staff is always attentive and our order is always complete with no mistakes. I normally get the lasagna; though inconsistent, its pretty decent. I haven’t found anything better in Alexandria. Pizza? Don’t do it. Wings? Once again, inconsistent.

This is a wonderful greek diner in the Bradlee shopping center! The service is cheery and the restaurant has achieved that old patina from being around a long while… not exactly spiffy, but well worn and comfortable. I ordered the Mediterranean omelet(something I have had to specially order at other places) from the menu and a cup of coffee. I also asked for tatziki sauce as an accompaniment. The coffee was a little weak and could have been hotter. The omelet was delicious and the home fries(asked for extra crispy) were cooked to perfection. I was very pleased with my brunch and am looking forward to returning to try their gyros and pizza. I wasn’t thrilled to see an extra $ 2.95 on my bill for a side of tatziki, but they did bring a sizable portion. I merely wanted a dollop or two to top my omelet — a la sour cream for a western omelet. Seemed a little extreme. Add that to the fact that my lukewarm coffee was pretty weak and it didn’t blow my socks off. It was, however, a good experience and the joint was jumping, so they are doing something right! The average age of the customers appeared to vary, but lean mostly toward the older set. You need to know:(1) seat yourself and someone will find you,(2) you will take your bill up to the register in order to pay, and(3) the service is a little slow, not that I was in a rush :)

For a place that probably hasn’t changed its décor since 1978, this place is surprisingly really good. The cashiers could be a bit friendlier/upbeat though.

This is a great comfortable restaurant with a menu for everybody. Don’t skip the soups — awesome. At least 4 stars in my book. I’ve been eating here for years. Great pizza too.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. We have embraced the very limited menu and restaurant in bad need of renovation because they accommodate our group of 10 to 20 breakfast-goers once a month by letting us sit in their back room together. For this reason, we have given them steady business for 2.5 years. This morning, they would not let us sit I our usual spot. My fiancé spoke to the manager– he was so very rude and told us to not bother coming back because we don’t always come every month.(We do. We have a two and a half years of calendars to back this up.) he then came out and glowered at us. What on earth?! Who does that?! What was the point of his being rude? If he had simply said no, no problem, but he instead decided to be mean, in front of our kids. We will not be back… just as he requested.

I don’t want to hate on this place because I feel like it’s got a lot of love and history to it. And nothing about it is bad. The problem is that nothing about it is great either. I had a gyro with fries. The fries were ok. Thicker than I prefer and a little bland but fine. The gyro was good. It had nice meat on it and they were generous with the portions overall. But it felt like a gyro I could get anywhere, nothing special. If you’re nearby and in the mood for Greek/italian give it a try. Apparently their pizzas are really good(I didn’t feel like spending that much). But this is not a place you need to go out of your way to visit.

A nice dinner style restaurant located in a nice strip mall. Plenty of parking and a nice look on the outside of the building. Inside is dated but well maintained with interesting lighting and paintings. We visited there 3 times and had breakfast, lunch and diner. Their sandwiches were some of the best i have ever had(pastrami sub), breakfast was good and really cheap and their pizza is pretty good. Our pizza was a little under cooked and greasy but it has a great flavor. Appetizers that we tried were definitely frozen and lacked any real flavor(wings and calamari). The only real complaint that we would have is that he service is lacking. We barely ever see our server and sit with empty glasses at the edge of the table for overly long times. Atmosphere 4 out of 5 Food 3 of 5(subs are 5 of 5) Service 1 of 5 Value 4 of 5

Ambience is very chill and relaxing. It is a great family restaurant. The food portions are pretty large. My boyfriend’s burger came out to be big as a face! It was delicious. Our server was great and efficient. It is a quiet restaurant to come in with a friend or even alone and have a home-cooked type of meal.

Came here since it is close to our house. The décor is definitely lacking. It feels trapped in the 70s. But don’t judge a book by its cover, right? It’s seat yourself so we found ourselves a booth. The waitress seemed so unhappy to be there and wasn’t very friendly. But the food always speaks louder at bare bones restaurants right??? I ordered the moussaka based on the comments from Unilocal and the husband ordered chicken puttanesca. Both dishes came with salad. Not sure why but my salad was double the size of my husband’s. Also we asked for dressing on the side and she still put it on top. And apparently I didn’t have a choice in dressing although my husband did??? Not sure how that even makes sense. The bread isn’t anything special but it was good. Perfectly buttered and toasted so it was still soft on the inside but a little crunchy on the outside. My dish was actually super tasty. All the flavors mixed really well and it was good. My husband’s dish I didn’t particularly like. I thought the chicken was way to rubbery and overcooked but he seemed to love it. He really liked all the flavors together. I would come back just for the moussaka or to try the souvlaki or even one of the subs or the gyro. I’d only go with dishes that people have recommended multiple times and don’t expect anything special.

Was introduced to this restaurant by a long time customer. I had a chicken souvlaki with fries. The souvlaki was delicious and very filling: the fries weren’t the best, but truly, they were not the focus of the meal. Everyone at the table enjoyed the meal. The prices are very reasonable. There was no wait time, even though the restaurant was mostly full. Service was friendly and fast. Paying at the cash register made it so checking out was faster than waiting on the busy waitress. Will visit again soon to give an updated review.

Is there anything better than a gooey cheese pizza and a Greek salad? I think not, and Atlantis Pizzeria is a restaurant that delivers a cool slice of deliciousness day in and day out. This restaurant is family run and has been landmark in Alexandria for years; in fact, the only problem I have with Atlantis is that sometimes it is too popular. Yes, at key times such as football games and teacher training sessions, I found myself frustrated by this gem’s hungry crowd. Still a big Greek salad is worth the wait, so I am thinking that a 4.5 star rating is more on mark for this one. In any event, I’m sure that you will be glad that this Atlantis has been found and not lost.

Service here is unforgivably bad. When you come in, you walk right into a sign that says«seat yourself.» Huh? The entire time I was here, I saw between 1 and 3 employees standing around doing nothing. My daughter(who’s 5) wanted a scrambled egg and nothing else. I saw they had omelettes on their menu so I asked the waitress if she could have a side of scrambled eggs. The waitress coldly told me that they«don’t do sides.» Excuse me? The cook can’t take two eggs and put them in a pan? Ridiculous! I asked the waitress if she really expected me to order a $ 10 omelette for a 5 year old. The waitress asked me «if I need more time to decide what to order» and walked away. When she came back, I relented and ordered a plain omelette. The waitress asked me what kind of salad dressing, and I pointed out that my daughter is 5 and won’t eat a salad. The waitress didn’t seem to understand and I had to tell her again that I don’t want a salad with the omelette. My wife ordered grilled cheese and asked if she could substitute rice for the potato chips. The waitress informed her that rice would cost $ 5. $ 5 for a scoop of fucking rice. I ordered the gyro plate(which cost $ 17). Mine came with an iceberg lettuce salad(waitress didn’t ask what kind of dressing I wanted), store-bought toasted bread(with no butter), and frozen french fries. The gyros were sloppily served on top of three pieces of pita bread. The menu said it came with sauce, but sauce was absent. My daughter’s $ 10 omelette consisted of three eggs, cooked flat, with store-bought frozen french fries. Her plate had MAYBE $ 2 of food on it. My wife’s $ 10 grilled cheese consisted of maybe $ 1 of food(two pieces of bread with cheese), and store bought potato chips. Ridiculously overpriced and HORRIBLE service.
