I was shocked when I pass the shop yesterday as it is now a pet supply store. I still have $ 50+ gift certificate from my birthday and when I was there two weeks ago, nobody mentioned anything about closing the shop. Very classy!

Stopped in one Friday evening about 7pm for the first time and saw all the hand made arty treasures here, including knitted (!) silver bracelets with little beads, ring holders and all kinds of useful unique trinkets, perfect for gifts.

If you need an original, creative, one-​of-​a-​kind gift, this is the place to go. No made in China here!!! All the work is hand made by local artists and there is such a wide selection to chose from; jewelry, photographs, paintings, pottery, purses, bags, cards and on and on. The staff is great too, personable and friendly.

Local Del Ray fav for fun gifts for friends and family. The display of hand-​made goodies by local artists is like visiting a museum shop — much too tempting. My weaknesses are jewelry and cards. I like that Maria and Pat also support so many of the community events, celebrating the holidays from Halloween to Easter (thanks for the egg decorating!) Stroll on over after coffee at St. Elmo’s or an ice cream at The Dairy Godmother and continue your feast at A Show of Hands…

I love the owners, who do so much for the community of Del Ray! Pat and Maria rock. Just as great is the section of merchandise. From fabulous, reasonably priced oil paintings on the wall, to hand made jewelry, to pottery, and baby clothes, all hand made by local artists and craftsmen:
this is the place to buy unique gifts. While there, pop in to Cheestique for both wine and a meal.
IT’s a great shop in a very cool neighborhood of charming old bungalows.

Awesome art gallery in one of my fave Alexandria locations, Del Ray. Recently moved from a smaller, less prominent location to the new, larger, corner locale.
All the artists featured are local. There’s something in every price range, from the affordable impulse trinket (wood-​turned pens, glass pendants, handmade stationery, woven scarves) to the expensive ponder-​awhile purchase (oil paintings, thrown pottery, hand-​stitched quilts).
Buy locally, support talented artists, find something unique. Boom, done.

wicked good little hand craft shop with things made by local folk — like a cool triangle purse for my ma or a box with a picture of Frida Khalo operating a Frida Khalo ventriloquist dummy — now that’s weird, what’s that mean?- …anyway, they have cool things made by hand (paintings, hats, wall fish etc) so it’s definitely a place to have on the radar.

What a wonderful boutique! On a day when you’re walking down Mount Vernon Avenue, why not stop in to check out the goodies. Like Gayle mentioned, there is plenty of art, cards, candles, and the like to buy. My wife also found a funky baby sling for just the right price. Come to think of it, she bought 2. Am I having twins?

This is a great new shop and gallery that recently sprung up in Del Ray. What a cool space to check out original art by local artists.
Other than the art on the wall (which you can either look at or buy to hand on your own wall) there’s a bunch of handmade and handcrafted stuff like bowls, candles, soaps and candles.
There’s also some great items here to brighten up your space other than the paintings. A Show Of Hands has totes to carry your stuff, bright and colorful lamps and unique, painted furniture.
Tickets to the Del Ray House Tour are sold here, so do what I did– start here and browse around, buy your tickets and see some history right in Alexandria.
