My fiancé and I stopped in here after getting recommendations from another bartender in town. It has a 100% hometown, local feel and we loved it. We grabbed a couple pints and made friends with the couple sitting next to us who happened to order too big of a pizza — the pizza was pretty good! If you’re looking for a fun, local spot — go grab a brew here!

Quite disappointing. Food and atmosphere mediocre at best. Service poor. The beer I ordered was served in a cracked, chipped glass which I returned to the waitress after noticing it and was not offered a replacement or refund. How this establishment currently has a four star rating is beyond comprehension!

Really nice waitresses, the food was good, and it was open (which is tough to find in mid September for dinner). We had the appetizer sampler and meat lovers pizza. Both were solid choices.

Started with an appetizer of poutine, it was pretty good! I really liked the gravy they used.
We ordered a bacon cheeseburger and a buffalo chicken sandwich with sides of fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the bacon was crunchy, sort of like bacon bits once it broke. Very juicy.
The chicken was nothing special but the buffalo sauce was just the right level of spice for me and there was lots of blue cheese which was awesome.
I hope you can tolerate awkward silence throughout the bar– the radio station kept cutting out mid song. It would stay off for ten min at a time. Hope they get that fixed.

Dockside Burgers are delish!!! It’s always busy, which is great so I usually order take out.
Super friendly staff!
Antipasto Salad is also very good and BIG! Also, the Buffalo Chicken sandwich is amazing!

Amazing atmosphere! Great and awesome burgers! Not to pricy very economical. The waitress was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely keep going back! A food and hamburger lovers dream.

Not really sure how this place has so many 5 star reviews-​people are a little too generous with the rating system.
After reading these reviews, my girlfriend and I stopped in for late lunch. We ordered a sampler platter to share and when it arrived, I wanted to send it back and walk out. Everything was just frozen food from a plastic bag I assume. The chicken tenders were not real white meat-​resembled a McDonald’s nugget. Just disappointing that a bar/​restaurant with such potential serves frozen food. And the beer was in a can. That was just plain stupid.

Unabashed fast food at tourist trap prices. The Korner with the added joy of paying for a tip… The one star is for year round service and the nerve to serve Labatt Blue in a can.

I agree with cheap and greasy. The burger — chargrilled — was nice and juicy. I asked for crispy fries but was served burnt french fries, which was disappointing. The house salad and soup were ‘run of the mill’. My wife had a turkey sandwich — deli turkey on white bread.
Go for the burger. I suspect other grilled items are good too since it’s charbroiled. Everything else we had was okay but not great.
Overall, I’d classify this place as a dive bar. Good for what it is.

The burgers are fantastic! We ate here on Burger Nite and were in for a wonderful and affordable treat! Burger plus fries and two toppings for $ 7.99. The haystacks (basically onion rings) were delicious! The service was terrific as well. You can’t go wrong here!

Cheap and greasy.
I enjoyed my lunch at the Dockside: the fried chicken ranch sandwich. It was topped with ranch dressing, bacon, american cheese, and lettuce. I managed to eat the whole thing, in addition to tasting a mozzarella stick and a pizza log.
The place itself is kinda eh. It’s a … bar. I would rightly assume it hasn’t been updated in years. You could either decide it has character or it should be on a save-​my-​restaurant type of show. (Do they have those for restaurants? I know they do for bakeries.)
Anyway. I’d say this is a good bet for a quick lunch spot in Alex Bay — or perhaps a beer late at night.

A trip to A-​Bay is not complete without plunging into the Dockside!!! Every time we’ve dined there, we have ordered something new and have yet to leave unsatisfied! Everything was promptly severed, delicious and of perfect temperature!!!

We stopped here because I read the good reviews on Unilocal.I was incredibly disappointed. My mom and I ordered the salami and provolone sandwich that was on special, but we both thought they were overly greasy. Our waitress was attentive, but she kept leaving as soon as she came.

I haven’t had the food here, I went here with a group of friends one night and listened to the karaōke. The service of the bartenders was good, we didn’t wait too long for our drinks. Though, as one reviewer mentioned the cocktail glasses are very small and not what you’d get for the same amount of money at other bars. The atomosphere is typical dive bar fashion. Though, the patio is very nice with a view of the St. Lawrence river and the stars at night. Overall, we all had a fun night, though most of the crowd here was an older crowd (40 – 60).

I ate here on memorial day withe three other dining companions. We decided to head here and bypass all of the more crowded places on the main street after reading some Unilocal reviews.
Both couples decided to start out with the poutine. It was served as a large dish that was absolutely covered in cheese and tasted very good. After all, who doesn’t like fries, gravy and cheese? For my entrée I decided upon a Reuben with French fries. The Reuben was good with the corned beef being nice and tender and it having the perfect amount of sauerkraut and thousand island dressing.
The bottom line for me is that I would eat here again in a heartbeat. Our server was both efficient and cheerful while the food was both cheap and delicious.

Visiting from Texas for the first time, I felt that this was the first place I went to where the people were genuinely down to earth. My husband is from Alexandria Bay and this was the first place his dad took us as soon as we arrived.
An avid «Texas dive» attendee, I could appreciate the small ma and pop feel of this place, I got to drink ice cold canadian beer, dine on poutine and hamburgers as I got to better know my father-​in-​law in person.
Nice staff, good hometown feel and great place to snag a frosty cold one.
