The food and service were great! The margarita was good. I had carnitas and my wife had carne asada. They were both delicious! Great for a date night.

This is such a unique place. I love that you can build your own margarita, but they also have a list of really interesting ones. Also, the house margarita is $ 4 and you just can’t beat that. I got the fish tacos and my boyfriend got the carne asada tacos and they were just so delicious. My only complaint was that the waitress was nice to me and my girl friend until my boyfriend showed up. She was immediately rude to us and super nice to my boyfriend. I know he is cute, but that is so unprofessional. She tasted his drink before bringing out and warned him it was too sweet and then made him a new one herself. Meanwhile, I was still waiting for my drink that I had ordered 15 minutes ago. I wish I could remember her name. She was just so off-putting. But I never let one bad service experience deter me from a place. I will definitely return! Just maybe not with my boyfriend…

The tacos and margaritas are good! However the service is hit or miss. This is a hipster place so if you are looking for«authentic» it’s not close to that.

Cilantro is just not the answer to everything. Our cocktails were great but all the tacos/taquitos we tried had too much sweetness to them. The garnish was overwhelming. It’s like there were too many conflicting flavors, and the ratio of garnish to meat was not in our favor. The service was just okay. Nothing super special.

Two shrimp per taco. Inattentive and rude wait staff. We asked one employee for more chips. Her snide response, «I’ll tell your waiter.» I asked our server to remove several items from our table, the response I received, «I’ll do that in a second.» We waited long time for our checks, but I watched the sever tend to several other tables. So I walk up to the server and asks for our checks and they were in his belt. Really! The cod tacos were delicious. But please improve the hospitality, and consider adequately staffing employees on a busy night. If the wait staff would have apologized once – at least once – that would have been sufficient.

If you look brown or Mexican, don’t expect speedy service. The tacos were not the greatest. The service was so slow. The drinks were beyond pricey. My friend and I waited for over three hours to receive food. If you want great, real Mexican food, go elsewhere. If you want cultural appropriated food, this is your shitty place.

I love when you find great restaurants when you’re in a new city!!! This place had a great vibe, good food and awesome bartenders. Mike and Kyle were great, had amazing suggestions for drinks, and served us with a smile! Even our server Joey was amazing! Our table ordered lots of margaritas and guacamole. Then we shared the tacos because they came in sets of 3 and it allowed us to share different flavors! They also have a ton of seating so it’s good for dates, ladies nights and big parties!

I had such an enjoyable experience here, I felt compelled to write a review. Food and service was great. The service was a little bit slow at first, but it got better. The waiter was really nice, and I opted for his margarita recommendation with Piedra Azul tequila and cointreau liqueur on the rocks. It was a nice combination for a margarita. For appetizers my husband and I had the octopus and blue crab ceviche, and the queso with poblano and clinatro. Both were delicious. However, the ceviche came with popcorn on top, and I wasn’t a fan of that. I had shrimp tacos and fish tacos(cod). They were amazing! The fish tacos came with a delicious cabbage slaw, that made the taco. My husband ordered the carne asada tacos and the chicken tacos. He loved both, but couldn’t stop raving about the carne asada tacos. Overall, we are very happy with this place and will be returning very soon.

Everything I have had at Zacatecas has been delicious. The appetizer quesadilla(I think the main ingredient changes seasonally) sits on a fantastic salad and is the best thing I’ve had there(it is more like a savory empanada kind of thing than a traditional quesadilla, though). The first margarita I ordered was the«Aguamiel,» which has two of my favorite cocktail ingredients(St. Germain and cucumber). Since that first taste, I’ve not even bothered to try any of the others. It’s perfect. If you go on a day that isn’t Friday you probably won’t have too much trouble getting a table. I haven’t made it for $ 1 raw oyster and discounted tacos and margaritas happy hour(4 – 6 Tues-Sun), but I’m determined to make it one of these days!

Visiting a friend here for the Fiesta balloon festival and he took me here… Margaritas weren’t too good. I don’t really like super sweet drinks. Too sour too… We got the duck and shrimp tacos. Really loved the shrimp tacos. Duck. not so much. Service was friendly and there was hardly a wait on Friday.

This is a neighborhood go to with guests. Modern Mexican cuisine with a full bar is usually an easy sell, not to mention the open air setting facing Central. The shrimp and octopus ceviches are go tos, as are the mushroom and shrimp tacos. Yes, it’s pricier than your typical street taco place, but what do you expect for the aforementioned spot on Central? I appreciate the free chips that are clearly done in house, although they could be salted a bit more, and as for the two salsas, definitely go for the green one. Also, get a side of the guac, it’s creamy and delicious. There’s something on the menu for everyone, which makes it an easy social choice. But the fun part are the margaritas, particularly the poblano infused Chalchihuitl, but you can go for the NorCal if you’re watching your carb count. Service is decent, better if you don’t go at happy hour.

Super yummy tacos and margaritas. They do have vegetarian options(though limited) but be warned: they can be spicy!

$ 15 for 4 tacos? Oh, you’re buying? SURELET’S GO! Ok so they were pretty darn good tacos, but hot damn were they expensive. As were the drinks, which was expected as soon as I approached the place. Service was great and fast, tacos were tasty and presented well, the place is clean and trendy and it felt like date night in the place — everyone was getting all touchy-feely on the night I visited. I’ll rate them a 4 for the whole vibe of the place, but there are certainly cheaper tacos to be had in ABQ. If you want to impress someone this is a nice choice but otherwise dig around a bit and you’ll find better tacos. Oh, and don’t bother with the ‘chips and salsa’, its brought to you in a weird paper cone, and they weren’t very tasty. Even if there’d been a decent amount of chips, I wouldn’t have eaten them. The salsa was also… not salsa.

Took my dad here for father’s day. We each had different things. He ordered a had and half taco dish of carne asada and Yucatan chicken tacos. Both were instant hits and he’s in line with the carne asada ones enough I got an actual physical thumbs up from him. The waitress was so kinds to let us try both types on one plate. I tried both, carne asada was perfection. Medium rare cooked and not so hot my stomach couldn’t take it, but wonderful flavor and a pure delight with avocado and onion and cheese. Awesome. On my part, I had the levantate enchiladas. The black refried beans were amazing and I normally don’t like beans at all. The potatoes were good and a bit spicy nut not overly so. The corn tortillas were delicious and seemed fresh made. Eggs fried to perfection on Tue too. Definitely a do again type place.

As a born and raised Mexican I know my margaritas and definitely know my tacos. The margaritas are strong like NM servsafe alcohol inspector will be out here any day to check for over pouring… kidding this place is great!!! Their tacos are sometimes cold which sucks because if they could serve the tortillas nice and warm this place would earn more stars. The best tacos is carnitas and duck tacos. Their service is pretty slacked off sometimes. It can take you quite a while to get your waiter to come back sometimes I do a lot of intense heavy eye contact. I like to believe that does the trick and their waitress waiter senses started tingling. It is one of my regular places and their garage doors are great.

I love tacos. They are delicious and versatile. Not to mention, they have the potential to be more healthful than some other options(key word here is potential!). So, as I explore the ABQ taco scene, Zacatecas obviously appeared on my radar. My wife and I decided to grab dinner out last night and figured we should cross this off our list of places to try. We were seated promptly and brought chips and salsa. Their chips were unlike those I have had at other places around town. I think that maybe they were made from corn instead of flour and/or made fresh. Either way, we quickly devoured the thing of chips(and delicious salsa) and were quickly offered more!(though we declined since we we’re at least *trying* to eat better). My wife and I split the fish tacos and the shrimp tacos since we both couldn’t decide. I have to say, I was a bit disappointed. Both suffered from a lack of filling and particularly protein. The fish was a smallish cube of fish. Actually, it probably would have been enough if they cut it differently, but this way, one bite got fish and then the rest were just filling. The shrimp tacos had two tiny shrimp per taco and were frankly, not very flavorful. It was disappointing. Despite my 3 star review at the moment, I want to go back because maybe they had an off night, or maybe we just ordered the wrong things. The table next to us had the ahi tuna that looked amazing and other things on the menu sound good. I am 100% willing to revise my review and rating on this one. BTW, it would be really cool if they offered single tacos a la cart. I could have used one more and it would have been fun to try a different flavor. Also, our server was great. Very attentive, friendly, and quick with water refills.

Zacatecas Tacos, it’s fun to say after a tequila flight. It’s fun to say before it too– Zacatecas Tacos. I had the carne asada tacos, they were good. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was pleasant. There was a guitarist the night we went. I really wish I remembered who he is. He was fantastic. His music really set the tone in the restaurant. He played Volare while wearing a straw fedora. How great is that? The warm, night air that floated in from the open windows lent an oceanic feel to the interior. It was lovely. I have had better tacos. With a name like Zacatecas Tacos, I felt the taco game could be stronger. Although atmosphere and service more than made up for it. And so did the tequila.

Great house margarita for only $ 6. They raised the price for UNM students to $ 4 but still a great deal. The carne asada tacos are delicious and we’re devoured quickly. I love the avocado and spicy marinade. Great environment, great food, great drinks, great company.

Oh. My. Goodness. This is definitely a fantastic Friday night date spot. Zacatecas has a great ambience that just shouts how awesome it is. Our server was very busy, but was clearly experienced at his job. My only issue with tonight was the fact our drinks came after our food. Nothing drives me quite as crazy as having tacos in front of me and no margarita to wash them down with. But my drink was clearly made by a generous bartender, so I will not be too upset. We came in search of the legendary fish tacos we have heard so much about, and they did not disappoint. They were not the best tacos, but they were extremely close. I also ordered the jerk chicken tacos, and the only tacos I’ve had that were better were ones made in a restaurant in Nordstrom in California. So glad to finally have gotten to enjoy this place.(:
