I just signed up for this place a few days ago, and I think it’s safe to say that I’m falling in love. Why, you ask? One: the crossfit-type classes and equipment appeal to me. I’ve always loved kickboxing and boxing technical classes, and I find that here in their total body strengthening classes. But they also offer barre, TRX, and circuit classes, among others. There’s all of the gym necessities: free weights, treadmills, stair stepper, rowing machine, boxing bags, ropes, medicine balls, kettlebells, and much more. But, the reason I come back is the people. On my first day there, everyone in the gym came over and introduced themselves to me, and took a genuine interest in making me feel welcome. Classes are small, so you receive personalized attention. The facility is 24⁄7 access, and I occasionally find myself alone, able to put on whatever music I want and WERKIT. All of this, for an amazing price that fits my student budget. Yes, it is love!

This is the kind of gym where everybody knows your name. It is set up mainly for weight lifters who just want to do their thing, but there are a few classes like kick boxing and suspension training for when you need to be told what to do. The owner, Marsha, has a passionate and faithful group of personal training clients who welcome new gym goers. The gym is pretty affordable and accepts some insurance. When you run out of excuses or you are looking for a no frills set-up to get your pump on, check out this gym.

I love this gym! The owner, Marsha Gonzales, has gone out of her way to create an unpretentious environment with incredible equipment to suit all training needs. I like going to the classes because if left up to my own devices, I’ll talk myself out of any workout! However, the group classes are generally small and so there is a lot of personal training advice throughout the workouts. Usually I attend the circuit weight-training classes but I also enjoy going to the TRX classes. The TRX instructors are on it and can modify workouts to meet people where they are at in terms of physical capability. The folks that go to the gym are all really friendly and down-to-earth — and more interested in getting fit instead of being seen. It’s in a great location on Central in-between Downtown and Old Town. Best of all, there is 24 hour access. I’ve been to many gyms in the ABQ area and this is the most bang for your buck — so glad I found it!
