Shogun Sushi is a place recommended to get lunch or sushi of course. The scenery is exceptional rather you are sitting in the dinning area or the sushi bar. If you were to come here I would sit in front of the sushi bar because in front of you are sushi boats circling around the whole bar when the chef is done making the sushi it I’d place on a boat and sailed to you this was a very fun experience. The normal food was amazing of what I got which was the chicken teriyaki bento box which is a popular menu item in some ethnic restaurants it fills you up with just the right amount of food for you. Thumbs up to Shogun

I brought my duckie here for lunch after a morning in the pediatric ER. She was in for a treat. Walking in glancing to the lunch counter m duckie was pretty thrilled to see the kool set up. Our sushi rolls we chose were delicious and fresh tasting and went well with our choice of Bento boxes. Although we got there pretty close to closing time(2pm) we were never pressured to hurry or rush through our lunch. I truly appreciated that along with the customer service which was on point. I wish I would have had time to try dessert. I’ll have to go back soon!

Damn good sushi. The cuts from the rolls are a little big, which may be a problem for smaller people. Service was great by the older lady waiting all of the tables. They should leave the menus with you so you can order more when you’re ready, though. Prices were a little high, but still reasonable I think. Most importantly, the place was clean. I’ll definitely be returning.

Great family place. Ours had a good time of watching the mesmerizing boats. There was plenty of choices for the young sushi eater. Very friendly and prompt service, too.

Quaint place with cute moving small boats on the sushi bar. First i thought it was a rotating sushi that would have the sushi in a fixed price and you just grab what you’d like. Unfortunately, its use to deliver you order of sushi around the bar. Ordered the bento box with pork katsu since It’s hard for me to find a good one in MD. Its a good lunch box with green salad, veggies(fried or steamed), chicken gyoza, 2 small pieces of roll and a small deep fried pork cutlet. Nothing special but fresh ingredients. Now, sorry I can’t remember all the rolls we got since they only give 1 regular menu and 1 pictured menu for the rolls even though out party consist of 2 people. Would be helpful if each person gets a menu. We got the crispy dragon roll with deep fried soft shell crab + mayo; really luscious, delicious and memorable. The rising sun roll looks pretty with all the different fish roe’s + green chile and spicy tuna; if you like spicy this is for you but it won’t give you a sweat or burn on your mouth. And the shotgun roll i think has the raw salmon + green chile. All the rolls were fresh but the last 2 rolls were not memorable; never had sushi rolls with green chile in the east coast but its good to try. For the area, worth the price for the fresh ingredients and the ambiance of the place. If you stay in the bar and like to watch how they make sushi and of course chat or make jokes with each other while taking their sweet time making sushi while customers wait for their orders in a Friday week lunch(12:30pm) not as busy, this is the place for you(just a note, this is the only Japanese place I’ve been in Albuquerque so it might be I’m just used to the hustle and bustle in the east coast or people are much generally laid back here). Would check Unilocal the next time and try other places 1st.

It was a crowded Friday night when we went to Shogun and it was hard to get attention from the staff. It was also sort of chaotic and smelled fishy in that way that is slightly concerning in sushi restaurants. The yellowtail nigiri was much fresher than I expected, and I was very happy with the fish. However, the rice was overcooked(mushy), which is bad news for sushi. They offer very little in the way of sake. I imagine it’s a good place for crazy fried rolls jam-packed with all the popular ingredients, but don’t bother if you’re nigiri/sashimi or sake enthusiast.

You have to try the Green Chili Roll! Local favorite. Great sushi. Really enjoy the staff and the excellent chefs make the best sushi in town.

It’s pretty decent. Their lunch menu isn’t really lunch enough or priced well enough to get a side. But the sushi is decent and the boats are fun

I come here for the chirashi bowl. I love raw fish so this hits the spot, and it’s the best quality and flavor I’ve been able to find in this landlocked part of the country. At $ 24, it feels a little overpriced, but I suppose that’s because there just isn’t fish around here. All in all, I’ll definitely keep coming back for this when a craving hits, but it just doesn’t measure up to what’s available on the coasts of the US. I hate to say this, but the last time I got the chirashi bowl, I got a stomach ache that lasted all night. I hope it wasn’t from less-than-fresh fish…

I’m giving this restaurant 2starts because of the food flavor. .nothing else. me and my wife chose the table are for quite, the service was invisible there was a guy playing with his tablet at the register. .rude(tables or boats) …I thought it was very pricey for the amount of food in the plate(French Stile) minimalistic. 50 $ for three dishes that fit in 1 plate they lost me. .I’ve eaten sushi all around. .this restaurant doesn’t stand to the reviews I read at this website. .sorry for the honesty.

Loved this sushi restaurant since college. Me and my girlfriends would go every week and eat sushi by the boat. Literally… they have a boat around the sushi bar that delivers your sushi. Great place for a date night, good prices and tasty sushi. Wine list and saki is very good compared to other sushi restaurants in the area.

This place is great. Although it’s a small space, the funky samurai helmet with antlers, and Godzilla on the shelves, plus a friendly staff make for a fun and cozy atmosphere. I tried the green chile roll and smoked salmon roll on my first visit, both to die for! Must go back ASAP.

Cute place! Good sushi. I think my favorite part is the atmosphere at the sushi bar! There are boats that serve your sushi! So fun! Not the most mind blowin sushi I have ever had, but definitely a good spot to get some yum in your tum :)(sorry, weird mood) BUT def worth a stop. I recommend the ABQ roll 86 the tempura. Very light and for sure my favorite of the night!

In all Albuquerque, this is my favorite sushi place. If there are a few of you sit at the sushi bar where you can watch the sushi chefs create. I have taken people here from San Francisco, from Boston, from Chicago, from LA, from San Diego, from Houston, and from New York, everyone was so surprised that we could have sushi this great and this inexpensive in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Picking up my girlfriend from the airport tonight and heading right over to show gun to eat some sushi!

Very friendly staff. The young man who created our food listened well and made everything perfect. The sushi was very tasty. If you check in on Unilocal you can receive a free beverage.

LOVED this sushi restaurant in Albuquerque! First of all, you get to watch the sushi being prepared, and then it comes to you in a little boat. Whaaaaat? I’ve been to lots of sushi restaurants and I’ve never seen that anywhere else. Pretty charming. Then, the sushi is pretty good. I liked everything I tried here. My only minor complaint is that, when they’re busy, sometimes there aren’t seats available! When you live 2.5 hours away and you’re driving here JUST to go to Shogun for sushi, you’ll probably be pretty bummed if you can’t. That was my experience, at least! Otherwise, loved this place. Would definitely recommend.

Was suspicious at first as it looks like a storefront out of Reservoir Dogs, but was pleasantly surprised at the good sushi and the decadent Chirashi bowl. Extra points for our cute waitress, asked her what one of the fish pieces in my chirashi was and she pointed to my fiancé’s atomic roll and said, «Oh, I don’t know, but that part is seaweed.» We were like ohhhhhhhhhhhh, okay. Cool, thanks. Not knocking her she was awesome and service is great and I’ve worked at many restaurants where the chefs would have popped an eyeball listening to me describe their food. It was funny.

Probably one of the best sushi dinners I’ve EVER had! The Uni was amazing and the sashimi was big and fresh. The sweet shrimp was also over the top good. The little boats floating around are cute but bring paper and pens to really kick it up. I’m definitely coming back.

This is my new favorite sushi place in Albuquerque. The sushi is well priced, ranging from 4 – 13 dollars per roll. It tastes fresh and delicious. Service was speedy quick. Complimentary miso soup! The super crunch roll was divine. It was a really good and delicious experience, and my husband and I will definitely be back for more!
