Savory Fares is a nice place to stop for breakfast and a treat. The staff were very nice. The omelette with bacon was good and the fresh fruit was delicious. The breakfast torte was probably better made fresh but we got there a little closer to brunch.

Best soup and sandwiches in town!!! Always fresh. They have been in Albuquerque for years and they have always remained consistent. The green chile chicken soup is unlike anything I’ve ever had before.

Stopped in for a lunch, nice open kitchen, lots of great sounding options, ordered the NM cheese steak, a soft drink and a teeny salted caramel cheesecake bite. When it came i was at first a little disappointed, sandwich was a bit small, big pile of ruffles chips, and a kinda odd looking fruit salad. But upon first bite of the sandwich, and a few forkfulls of the fruit salad i was singing a new and quite happy tune, both were more filling and great tasting than i expected, and the cheese cake bite was a delightful meal cap.

The food is good, but it shouldn’t take 30 min to make a burrito, particularly when the place is empty.

My friends suggested this place for a work lunch and both were shocked that I had never been before. I was pleasantly surprised at this cute and delightful café/bakery. They serve breakfast all day, have a fresh menu with lots of options and daily specials, as well as a bakery, take home meals, soups and dishes you can bake at home. The kitchen is open, the service was quick, the kitchen staff were all really friendly and doted on us. This place isn’t hip or modern but it’s somehow pretty awesome. I had a breakfast burrito(no bacon, add avacado), fresh fruit and an Arnold Palmer with fresh brewed sun tea. We sat on the shaded patio and had a lovely lunch.

This restaurant is one of my top local eateries. The daily specials are always delicious and new exciting changes. The sandwiches are made on bread from a local bakery, the salads are fresh and the green chile chicken soup is just DIVINE!!! Breakfast is also great, quiche, specials, it’s all delicious. Excellent fresh desserts as well. This restaurant is open for dinner but it is very dead and the atmosphere is not the best at dinner time, lots of clean up going on and you can smell the chemicals as they mop the floors for the night.

Walked in, two employees behind the counter talking to each other, no acknowledgement to us if we order at the counter, wait to be seated, or seat yourself. Nothing. We left after a few minutes. We were there at 10 am on Tuesday morning. Going to Flying Star. No wonder this establishment was empty

Not only does Savory Fare have excellent and tasty food for breakfast or lunch, they made our wedding cake. It was very reasonably priced, very fresh, and tasted amazing! The design was perfect too. We opted for one layer of chocolate and two layers of coconut. Both were delicious and the combination was even better. I highly recommend Savory Fare next time you need a cake!

I loved the green chile chicken soup, so rich. The Alexander and the chicken apricot salad sandwiches are also awesome. Am excited to try out their breakfast items. Desserts are fresh and yummy so leave some room!

This place is indeed SAVORY. We used Savory Fare to cater our parents’ 50th Wedding Anniversary party. We met with Jeff(owner) to plan out a special menu. We decided on a garden salad, fruit trays, dinner rolls and bread, rosemary chicken, green beans, and cupcakes. The food and service was outstanding. It’s been a few days and I’m still getting compliments from guests. The chicken was juicy and perfectly flavored. The chocolate cupcakes were melt in your mouth scrumptious. We had four different cupcake flavors and they were all great, but my personal favorite was the chocolate. Jeff also made my parents a small round cake for a cake cutting which was chocolate and vanilla layered with a what I believe was a cream cheese frosting.(Maybe buttercream…) Out of this world delicious. I would definitely recommend them for lunch and catering your special meal. You outdid yourself, Jeff! It was good for my soul!

I absolutely love this place — one of my favorite lunch spots in town. I used to eat here with my parents on a regular basis and I’m sad to say that I haven’t been in awhile. The chicken tarragon salad sandwich is to die for! Two added bonuses come with this place — you can stop in to pick up food for dinner! They keep pints of stews and other wholesome comfort foods ready to go, in the cooler by the door. The other is their amazingly delicious pastries that they make on site! This place does not dissapoint!

I love that you can walk in and grab a frozen pie or soup or order something fresh. Pies and soups are my favorite here, haven’t had anything less than delicious here

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but recent experience here at this small locally owned bakery really dropped the ball hard. I called in prior to San Valentino Day to inquire whether they make Pink«French Macarons» for a special personal event, the Chef/Owner Jeff mentioned that they could make them, I was so delighted to hear that so placed my call in order approx. a week and half. I know this locally owned establishment has been around for many years and I have supported them in ordering to go sandwiches from time to time, but they seem to have lost the passion and knowledge/experience when it comes to food & customer service, I know they are always very busy with alot of old timers whom I sure have been supporting them but the quality is absolutely 150 percent non existent!!! They presented my Pink Macarons and they were the most hideous and disturbing«Whoopie-Pie» looking horrendous piece of pink rubbish I have ever seen, I hope you get my point! I told him as I googled«Macarons» do you know what they are suppose to look like???, he said of course, OOOOOHHHH my Gosh and your still going to represent your work & your business like this!!! His response well they taste great… Wow utter disbelief & I am appalled to know that an owner would allow such poor quality goods leave his bakery! I did pay for them as I know he is a small owner and I had called in my order but the appropriate decision from the owner would have been to offer half off btw the Pink nonsense also tasted horrific as well as the Red Velvet Cupcakes, I believe that Savory Fare’s lack of unprofessional work & poor quality tasting cafeteria style food and nonchalant attitude and«lost in time» ways will certainly cost them business to people who once were devoted customers in the long run. Savory Fare was UNSAVORY&UNFARE(unfair)

Me and my mother went to Savory Fare Café & Bakery on 1÷17÷2015 for lunch. I was going to order the crêpe special which was on a special on their board. When we go to the counter after waiting in line for 10 minutes we were informed they were out of the crêpe special but didn’t remove it. So I ordered a Veggie Sandwich well my mother ordered their salad special of the day. Veggie Sandwich– Absolutely delicious, it was just a great overall sandwich with great flavor. Salad Special– It was a good overall salad, but a little small. It reminded me of a side salad and not a complete lunch salad. Overall it was a good salad just wish it was bigger. Wait Staff– The wait staff was nice, friendly, but they didn’t have any forks wash(due to being slammed). We asked for a fork and was told they’d bring us one when they had some washed. No wait staff every brought us one so we had to go searching for one. Overall, wish the wait staff was more attentive to guest. Overall Experience– Good overall experience. They have good prices for the food they serve. I just wish they’d have more attentive wait staff and make their salads bigger so it could actually fill you up for lunch. Great little café for breakfast and lunch. Iv heard their pastry’s are delicious and will be returning to try them.

I grew up going to Savory Fare, and they were an easy choice when it came to finding a caterer for my wedding last October. Jeff, the owner, was great to work with, from menu ideas to the beautiful, delicious wedding cake. There was no request unfulfilled, and he was the most prompt of all my venders to respond to emails of questions and changes I wanted throughout the planning process. I now live out of town, and Jeff was always available during the limited times I had in ABQ to meet in person. His staff carried out my vision for our signature drinks, dessert bar, and outstanding wedding cake. We had prime rib as a carving station, and the meat was of very high quality and cooked perfectly. I highly recommend Savory Fare’s catering for both the superb food and the high caliber of service.

The Perfect Lunch. I went back after not going here for a while. The desserts are even more delicious looking and original as I remembered. They are all house made and they do not skimp on ingredients, the proof being that you can taste the quality here in every savory bite. Their desserts are in time with the seasons and they have pumpkin pie right now and perfectly frosted Christmas cookies to go in a pretty white box. I had the chicken crêpe with the green chili chicken soup, with a piece of a fresh bagette and REAL butter and it was a perfect lunch.

I rarely give 4 star ratings, let alone 5 – especially in Albuquerque, a place hardly acclaimed for its cuisine. The staff not only labors to purchase truly fresh ingredients, but manages to assemble them into tasteful concoctions. Not all talented chefs produce plain, good food. Virtually, here, all the sandwiches and desserts are things you want to eat, and everything is affordably priced. With an unlimited budget, one can often locate great food, even in Albuquerque. To do such for this sort of $ 11 – 13 pricing is a marvelous feat and something rarely achieved.

Best little café in the southwest. My daughter and I enjoy our mother-daughter lunches here. I am not a sandwich person but love their veggie sandwich and especially love the delicious desserts always displayed so fabulously. DEFINITELYRECOMMENDTHISPLACE!!!

Savory Fare is a delicious treat. They serve things like salads, crepes, sandwiches, quiche, and offer a variety of specials. The food can be slightly inconsistant. I’ve had some of the best quiche I’ve ever had there… and I’ve had some that was good, but not the best. The green chile chicken soup is to die for. The salads are fresh and delicious. The desserts are scrumptious. They even have frozen food that you can take home, such as soups, pies, and dishes such as green chile chicken enchiladas or eggplant parmigiana. I kind of think of this place as my new Flying Star. The food at Savory is a bit pricey, but not nearly as pricey as Flying Star. You can catch the chef/owner there most weekdays, which is cool and creates that personal touch!

My husband and I were helping out a friend get to her appointment at Zen Salon. Her appointment was going to 20 mins. We decided to stop in here for a quick bite. We were greeted right away. We decided to share the green chile chicken soup and cheese quesadilla(they go very well together). The atmosphere is very quiet and cozy. We had a pleasant experience and ended up thanking our friend for having to take her to her appointment.
