Crazy expensive, and well worth it if you like real Italian pastries. I recommend the sfogliatelle, which is a hard flaky pastry filled with cheese and relatively unsweet. My mom, who was born in Italy, went bananas over their little fig cookies, which tasted exactly like the ones her mom, my grandmother, used to make. The cannoli were a little sweet for our tastes, but those might be a more popular item and thus geared toward pleasing Americans’ sweeter tastes. One gripe is that we ordered a chocolate cake for my daughter’s first birthday. It was good, but I’m not sure that it really tasted like chocolate. Either their chocolate is a strange variant of the flavor, or they gave us the wrong kind of cake. Hard to say.

This review is long overdue! I ordered my birthday cake two years back from Saratori’s. I had wanted an excuse to try their divine sounding cannoli cream torte for awhile, and my 21st birthday seemed like just the occasion. Upon ordering the cake, I spoke with the baker directly. I told them it was for my 21st birthday, my party was going to have around 30 people, and that it would be a Mad Men theme. I just needed it to taste good and said it was their call whether or not to decorate. The super-friendly baker said she would surprise me. I mentioned my distain towards fondant, and she talked to me about how much detail they can get in with icing alone. Well, she did not disappoint. My cake looked amazing! It was the show’s logo, and done fabulously. I cried a little and proceeded to cut into the most deliciously moist and indulgent cake I’ve had in my young,(but cake-filled) life. It truly was a triumph. Thank you, Saratori’s! My fiancé and I cannot wait to buy our two wedding cakes from you — especially considering the beautiful things you can do without fondant(also known as sugar glue).

I tried the sesame cookies because they looked so good, but I came for the rainbow cookies. I was NOT disappointed. Good cookies.

Wow! just had a regular cannoli here and it took me back to Brooklyn NY circa 1997, before it lost its soul, brought a tear to my eye. The filling was perfect, the shell was just right and as it should was filled before leaving the store not sitting on display getting soggy. Had a carrot cake made for me here which was also outstanding. I’ve been living in Albuquerque for over two years now and just found this place. Do yourself a favor and stop by there and get something delicious, it’ll make your day.

Saratori’s is owned by the same family as Tully’s Italian Deli next door. They make incredible cakes(coconut cake w/cream cheese frosting, tiramisu, etc), and I don’t even like cake. For others who don’t like cake, there are fruit pies, cheesecakes, biscotti, + cookies(really wonderful, light cookies!). I highly recommend the fennel cookies– such a unique flavor– and the caramel almond biscotti. If the shop is locked when you go, check next door at Tully’s; one of the employees will open shop for you.
