Quality Inn University

This place is incredibly funky — and not in a good way. It’s very simple but dated and not the best quality. Sheets were scratchy, the TV channels were all too fuzzy to watch, the remote batteries were dead so we had to change the channels on the tv itself, there was trash in the bathroom from the previous guests (it was just paper trash that was behind the bathroom door, but still), and housekeeping left our trash can full after cleaning our room, the walls are paper thin (you can hear people talking at a normal volume next door), the desk chair was broken (the arm wasn’t attached and so the back «reclined» when you leaned back. Also a heads up if you have kids: the windows slide open completely (probably 2.5 feet) and is right above the AC/​heater, even on the upper floors– a kid could easily push the window open and climb out if you have the window cracked at all. Oh and there was a drugged out transient digging through the bushes right next to our car in the parking lot. We saw quite a few homeless people wandering around outside during our stay.

When we pulled up there were police cars and a news crew at the circle K in front of the hotel due to a shooting! We asked the manager at the hotel about it and were told «they never have any trouble there».
We parked our car with trailer attached in their lighted parking lot only to wake to find our trailer stolen while we slept! And our car was also damaged in the process.
The police later told us they often have vehicle vandalism reports from that location and that it is NOT A SAFE AREA!
We were told that the hotel security camera had been broken for a month and management has advised there is nothing they can do to help us.
Room itself was nice, but WI-​FI is was poor.
I might also mention that the hot buffet was stone cold!

The hotel is old, but it has nice rooms and is clean.
The negatives are:
1. Analog TV, can’t locate when the TV was last sold, but most comments dated back
to 2006.
2. Microwave can not be found on the manufactures site, but looks to be in the same
time frame of the TV. Don’t take leftovers back from the restaurant because the
microwave is to small. Meals like Healthy Choice will fit.
3. The Internet connection is slow any I got «Page will not load» several times and
had to redo up to 3 times before it loaded. I also couldn’t get a site that uses
shockwave to load.
I did not find the hotel up to the standards that we have found in other Choice Hotel locations. We only use Choice Hotel locations when we travel. We are Gold Members.
Again if you only want a place to sleep and eat, they will satisfy your needs.
We will not return to this location again,.
