Microtel Inn and Suites Albuquerque West

Advertised free airport shuttle, charged $ 30 when we asked for a ride. Also jacked the rate up $ 40 despite a reservation, claiming it was a glitch in the computer. Room wasn’t bad but prepare to be dishonestly nickel and dimed.

A little high on price, could use a little perfume on the hallways but other than than great customer service. Hace a gas station within walking distance a lot of restaurants and even a xxx movie place… free shuttle wich i did use cuz my truck is broke down at volvo dealership… i give it a 5 star… me personaly i like tacos there is a taco stand just around the corner they are pretty good

This has got to be one of the worst places I’ve stayed in a peacetime situation. The whole hotel smelled like cigarettes

Very very small room. Whole place needs updated. Room is kind of gross old. Can hear every single footstep upstairs. At least the manager was friendly. This should not be more than 39 $ a night. If it wasn’t late and I wasn’t tired I would get my money back and leave

I was satisfied with our stay. We stayed two nights. Clean nicely laid out rooms. Not large rooms but okay size. Friendly staff. The staff speaks to you and offers to help. Unusual for a hotel now days? Sometimes. We would stay here again.

Horrible! Worst place I stayed at on this 10 day trip. Rate was cheap ($ 52 including all taxes) but not worth it. Checked in to first room. Unpacked all my belongings and left to get something to eat. When I got back I discovered that the lock on the door wasn’t functioning at all. Anyone could have walked into my room and taken anything they wanted. Went to complain and was moved to the room next door. Packed up everything and moved. Unpacked and as soon as I started the air condition and it kicked on there was a very loud clicking noise coming from it. Plus room was suppose to be non-​smoking but smelled liked smoke. Went to complain as there was no way I could sleep with the loud clicking coming from the air conditioner. Clerk came up to room and moved me to a suite down the hall. I told her I didn’t care about the size of the room but felt I should have an adjustment made on my bill. She felt that moving me to a suite was compensation enough. I wasn’t impressed with it. At least the door locked and the air conditioner didn’t click. So once again I packed everything up and moved down the hall. Breakfast the next morning is pretty cheap compared to other hotels. Not very good. Should have paid more attention to previous reviews and not stayed here. Horrible experience.

It’s a great location… near gas stations and places to eat. The room was a decent size and great parking. When we got there, one of the toilet paper rolls were completely wet (it was a double roll holder with a dry side) and it had smileys with «One Direction» on the bathroom mirror. We were gone all day (since early morning) with the maid service request on the door and the maid never came. I was really hoping they would, because there is a weird streak on the wall (possibly make up or food?). If you turn on the air, it smells really bad… really bad. If you go downstairs and request your room to be clean, they give you towels. So, I guess it’s great if you like dirty (DIRTY) rooms.

The room smelled like chain smoker had lived there for months and it was a noon smoking room. Stayed here on my way back to the east coast. It is conveniently located but. The bathroom floors were sticky. The room was basically disgusting. Save your money and sleep on your car. You have much more enjoyable experience.

Poor customer service, dirty rooms, rude employees. You are better off staying at the flying j bathroom across the street. Steer clear of this establishment. Gross, disgusting and unsanitary conditions and people.

We stayed here for four nights while visiting relatives. The room was clean and maintained everyday. The cleaning staff was courteous and flexible. For the most part the hotel was quiet and was across the street from easy dining if needed. The room stayed dark making it easy to sleep in. Overall it was a good experience, would like to see wifi in the rooms.

Excellent service. Very helpful. Will definitely stay here again

Horrible service. Not friendly at all. Especially the front desk lady wouldn’t let us have more than 4 people in a room.

I stayed at another Microtel while traveling and I had a very good experience with them. This was the opposite of that. It is rather rundown, the bedding is a bit old and somewhat stained. It was clean, but the walls were a bit thin, so you could hear all the pipes making noise throughout the night.

Not bad. Coming eastbound on 40 through Albuquerque, this place was conveniently situated just off the second exit after the city comes into view.
Pros: You get a clean, fairly up-​to-​date room for two including mini breakfast (make your own waffles) for ~$ 75 with tax with no reservation. There’s a cushion all along the 2-​foot wide windowsill for extra sitting or sleeping room. Free coffee & tea 24 hours in the lobby. WiFi is strong & consistently pulls at least a megabit downstream.
Cons: The beds are only full size. No fridge, no microwave. The floors and walls aren’t the thickest, so hope for quiet neighbors. You are right off 40 across from a Flying J, so expect some big diesel rumbles from time to time if you’re facing that way. The lobby coffee is somewhere between translucent and transparent… look into the little styrofoam cup, if you squint you can see the bottom.
Other notes: There’s an adult video joint with a garishly large sign right next door. Didn’t think much of it at first, but I found out that yes, there is something really awkward about seeing a big red «Adult Video» sign from the place you’re trying to sleep.

It’s okay, but for the kind of quality you get I’d suggest the cheaper hostel that’s downtown (the Route 66 Hostel). There’s an airport shuttle but it costs $ 20. The only real advantages to the hostel, in my opinion, are that you don’t have to make your own breakfast, the breakfast is a little nicer, and the wireless works inside the rooms.
