Dined at Mas — Tapas y Vino on my wife’s birthday a week ago. Had a 7:00PM reservation made via Opentable. We were a few minutes early but they seated us promptly. It is hard for me to get excited about Albuquerque fine dining, generally over priced and underwhelming. The menu at Mas — Tapas y Vino is interesting and varied. Maybe not the most authentic Spanish tapas menu, but a good selection and variety to chose from. We ordered the beet and goat cheese salad, crispy fried brussels sprouts, grilled artichokes with Spanish goat cheese, sauteed shrimp & chorizo, mussels al diablo, and grilled lamb chops(served a bit too rare for future reference) with harissa, cucumber, yogurt & dill. I could not complain about any of the dishes, everything was fresh and favorable. We drank wine by the glass including a Gruet Blanc De Noirs and a couple of the Spanish whites available by the glass. For desert we ordered a piece of Flourless Walnut Cake. Service was attentive but not annoying. Our waiter comped us on the dessert for my wife’s birthday. I think the total bill for the food without desert was approximately $ 140 which included our after dinner sherries and expressos(not the tip). For the ambience, service, food quality, excellent wines and an all around enjoyable evening, this is as good as it gets in Albuquerque.

Wow! What can I say? I definitely recommend this restaurant 100%! The ambience is amazing. And the staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. They have a great wine list. The food is true quality. For a party of 2 we shared 1 «tapas» as an appetizer and then each had our own entrée. That was a perfect amount of food. I had the sea bass. It was perfect. The overall experience was wonderful. I’ll definitely be going back again soon ! I would honestly say this is the best dining experience overall in Albuquerque. Prices are about $ 14-$ 36 for an entrée or Tapas.

Quite impressive! Cannot rave enough about this place as every plate was cooked and seasoned to perfection. Kicked off the meal with grilled artichokes w/goat cheese, jamon Serrano, and the duck queson. The artichokes and queso became an instant favorite and something that I will crave in the future. Next up was the steak salad and the soup of the day, roasted garlic cream soup. The soup was passed around the table for everyone to try and had us almost moaning from a foodgasm. All in all the meal had us planning our next return before we even left the table.

In an historic hotel that is not that busy. The restaurant was almost full. The lights went very dim while there and our server said the owner was very particular about the lighting. If we hadn’t already ordered, we would not have been able to read our menus. The vegetarian tapas were very good. The paella was just average as it wasn’t crunchy on the bottom. The vegetarian and seafood paella were too similar in flavors. Best food item we tried that night was my niece’s chicken fingers and fries ironically. I’d go back for those.

I only stopped in for a glass of vino. Excellent atmosphere. The hotel lobby is amazing(Hotel Andaluz), like a W with a southwest touch. Very Botique. Menu has me planning a visit back next time I am in Albuquerque. Actually — duh — I’ll just stay at this hotel next time. Entries are a bit pricy ranging from $ 28 to $ 42(grilled ribeye and scallops) but they have a large selection of tapas to choose from at @ $ 6 to $ 14. Check out the lobby pic I posted! Minus one star only because I didn’t dine. I wanna come back.

This was our best bet for breakfast while in ABQ given our location. We really wanted ABQ/SW style cuisine for dinner, but our concierge said it would be better for breakfast. So, we opted for Mas. Mas is part of a hotel called Andaluz. Since I’ve been to Andalusia, Espana, this was a lovely welcome! It has all the influences of the major Abraham traditions present in Spain during the 14th century. So, décor gets a star for sure! So, we ordered quinoa, granola and huevos rancheros with red sauce. The quinoa was by far the best I’ve ever had! I’m not sure if the grain is native or just grows better here, but it was delectable! The granola was chunky and dry… not the best, so minus ½ star. The huevos rancheros were great, except they were quite salty. So, minus another ½ star. Perhaps if I’m back, then I’ll opt for something else on the menu… but it was a great find!

Rant: Dinner starts at 5, so quit bitchin’ or keep drinking. Rant over. MAS was dreamy, the service was dreamy, my date… dreamy too. We had a lovely experience at MAS this weekend and explored the tapas menu, just shortly before 5pm when the kitchen opened. The glass of Tempranillo was fantastic. Lauren, our server was super nice and made some great suggestions. We ordered the smoked salmon nachos and then the olive plate. Both were perfectly paired with our wine and made for a nice mid-afternoon snack. I guess the folks next to us at the bar were making a huge deal of it not being dinner at 4:30 or 4:40, so I should pass on this wisdom as well: Call ahead. Afterwards, we walked around Hotel Andaluz, since it’s decorated with gorgeous holiday lights and a Christmas Tree. What seems as the«lobby» at the Andaluz is also a nice place to converse post-Tapas y Vino. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Located in the beautiful lobby of hotel Andaluz. Enjoyed a tasty whisky cocktail. Highly recommend them bacon wrapped dates! The paella had lots of flavor and nice spice to it. Good food and ambience.

We came here for lunch, which I would highly recommend in order to get there Green Chile Burger! They offer tapas during lunch too but I really liked how they also had larger portions as well. They cooked the burger exactly how I asked [medium rare] and the it was such a delicious burger! we got a side of the crispy potatoes and the spicy aioli dipping sauce was so flavorful and delicious. Great place to come & they offer free valet if you eat at the restaurant.

This places is incredible. It’s part of a hotel and it’s a beautiful location. The bartender was so friendly and kept the drinks flowing. The cheese plate was one of the best I’ve ever had! The lush martini was a bit sour but the blood orange sangria was delicious!

I love this place whether it is for a drink and a snack or for a meal. I have yet to have a bad thing on the menu. My favorite so far has been the roasted Brussel Sprouts. The wines are even more amazing.

I love the atmosphere– 2nd level of the hotel Andaluz, you can see the ABQ sky, I’m in a windstorm an still want to stay outside !! Great live music-I come after work and can relax! Best– the tapas! Ask for the full dinner menu– best of the best! Fried Brussels– don’t let fried get in your way– amazing texture and the romesco sauce is to die for! The shrimp and chorizos! Shrimps are plump and the sauce will make you cry for more– and the lamb chops! Harissa spiced — sooo yummy and cooled by the cucumber yogurt dill ! I’ve been here 3 times and can’t stop coming each time I’m in ABQ! The hotel is amazing too. Chef James Campbell does not disappoint!

We are downtown today for a conference and decided to try Mas for lunch. We got here 15 minutes before they opened but they were very pleasant and seated us anyway, took our drink order and served some bread with a great oil dip. Our server Richard was very friendly and professional. Our food was amazing! Will definitely be back for dinner!

Had a quick bunch of tapas and a good glass of wine on the way through. The tapas were larger than I am used to, so we did not have to order too many. Parking was in a surface lot and not on the street, but its pretty close. I think you can park at the hotel too, but I did not know that as I was circling the block.

Hubby and I worked in restaurants(ten years on my end and another 7 on his), so we have seen a lot of holidays in restaurants, and I need to applaud the efforts of the Tapas team! We were here for Valentine’s Day a few weeks ago and they performed impeccably! It’s hard to be happy when all of your tables are deuces, esp when V-day is normally amateur night so it’s not unusual to get tipped poorly by inexperienced diners who won’t be regulars. Their staff was chipper, excited about the menu offerings, and most importantly professional on a high-stress night. We had our 6 year old daughter with us since we had gone to a show beforehand so this was not a romantic dinner for two but was still what we got, so I appreciated that our server was so helpful and courteous. $ 175 for dinner included a number of tapas, a number of desserts and 4 glasses of wine between us. Then we rolled on over to the elevator and went up to bed– it’s so perfect that the hotel is attached! Unlike the other Vday diners, we WILL be back, and intend to bring two other couples with us who also love the Santa Fe MAS so will definitely appreciate this location’s offerings. Looking forward to it, save me a seat.

I recently stayed at the Hotel Andaluz, and ended up grabbing food from Mas quite a few times(because of the convenience and the cool menu!) It’s definitely an improvement from the previous restaurant in the hotel, and I’m singing its praises. I will say, however, that’s it’s very frustrating when you call from your room to order room service and no one answers. It happened every single time. That has to do more with the hotel though I’m guessing, so I’ll just focus on what i enjoyed eating. For breakfast, I had to be healthy(so boring, right?) It actually ended up being delicious, thanks to the quinoa oatmeal and huge side of fruit. I felt full, happy, and yes… healthy. I paired it with my own personal pot of coffee and it served as a great start to my day. For lunch, I can’t say enough great things about the mezze platter. It comes loaded with carrot-garbanzo hummus, beet-walnut spread, chopped spinach, raisins, capers, and sesame-lavash crackers. It’s also ridiculously beautiful(see photo.) Service at lunch was exceptionally great. Dinner means tapas! My three favorites were the patatas bravas, the hot gouda, chorizo, and apple bake, and the manchego cheese with membrillo. Service at the bar was not great, especially considering there were only two of us there. I’d definitely give this place a shot for lunch or dinner, and you’ll enjoy ordering their stuff if you’re staying at the Andaluz. Thanks for so many great meals, Mas!
