What an awesome burger. I had sauce on the side. Fun pit stop! Allow 20 min for your order. You can browse while you wait ! Yum.

I love this place! Big juicy green chile cheeseburgers grilled to perfection. Reminds me of the burgers my mom used to make when I was a kid. Delicious!

Great burger at and affordable price, it’s actually more like a gourmet burger. I’ve been to alot of burger joints from Los Angeles to New York and this is by far one of the best. You would never imagine this place in a gas station but that’s what makes it so unique. Because it is so fresh be prepared to wait while your burger is being prepared.

We stopped for lunch after watching a show on the cooking channel that featured this restaurant. ½ pound hamburger with their own homemade green chili sauce. Looked and tasted GREAT! I had mine without the chili as it was kind of spicy, but my husband had it on his burger and said it was really good. My phone didn’t understand the Unilocal directions. It looked like it wanted to take us to an access road a few exits past and double back. Once we found it(I called and they said to take exit 140 off interstate 40), I decided to write EASY directions… take exit 140 and it’s on the north side of the road, across the freeway from the casino. Just about 200 yards on the access road and you’re there. We highly recommend that you stop!

The average American consumes over 150 burgers a year. Sort of a scary number, when you factor in the fact that there are many who consume 0 burgers per year. Just wanted to put that out there. I eat nowhere close to that annual number, and tend to tally 2 – 3 per year. Consequently, I tend to be very selective when it comes to my hamburger consumption. The one place I always turn to when that semi-annual hamburger craving hits is the Route 66 pit stop. The short drive west is wonderful– not too long, but just long enough to leave behind the sights and sounds of The City. And the name– Home of the Laguna Burger. Iconic. The ambiance is 100% kitschy, quirky, and wonderfully New Mexican. You step inside the gas station, and find the usual convenience store, plus a booth with a few tables fronting the open kitchen. The delicious aromas of grilling beef teases and awakens your taste buds as you place your order, and find a seat. You will find yourself surrounded by various Route 66 memorabilia, and a motley assortment of bikers, truckers, Natives, Anglos, and a bearded Indian dude, when I am there. A true melting pot. A combination plate with a green chile cheeseburger, fries and a drink will only set you back about 7 bucks, by the way. And 7 dollars is an unfairly, ridiculously cheap price for a taste of hamburger heaven. The burger itself is fresh-not-frozen, half pound piece of perfectly grilled meat, adorned with just the right amount of local green chile, ketchup, mustard, onions, and tomatoes, sandwiched between buns that add flavor and texture, without dominating the experience. Now normally, at this point in my review, I would begin to think about the perfect way to close out my narrative Perhaps a clever ending observation, or a useful tip, you know– something memorable. But in this case, it is not going to happen, because just typing this review is stirring up memories of my last visit there, and I think it is time to go eat burger #4 for the year. NOW! I foresee that average burger number rising…

This place has awesome burgers but it is part of a gas station. It’s right off the highway so it’s easy to find. If your passing by during lunch time it’s a great place to stop. The burger is juicy and the green chiles are just hot enough. The fries aren’t very crispy but the onion rings are perfect. There were only two guys in the kitchen so service was a little slow but it made for a good break from our road trip.

Laguna Burger. There are few things I enjoy more than a hand crafted hamburger. Laguna Burger makes a good one. The burger was big. It’s a half pound of hand pressed beef. I ate a quarter of it and threw in the towel. It was cooked to order, fresh, but it was missing something a great burger has. Maybe not enough salt. Maybe it was too wet. I’m not sure what it was that didn’t evoke what a great burger is to me. The ingredients were fresh. Maybe it was the«World Famous» claim. I’m not sure. But it was just a burger. Don’t get me wrong. It was a good burger. The fries were freshly made, too. I ordered mine smothered in green chile and cheese. They were the best part of the meal. It just wasn’t a burger I had to have before I died thing. It was Lota Burger good. Or Whataburger good. Not a burger I’d leave Albuquerque for. It’s only a few minutes out of town. Still, I wouldn’t go out of my way to grab one. But maybe it’s something you just have to decide on your own;) I’m also one of the rare New Mexicans who thinks In and Out Burger is ridiculously over rated. The tab for four people to dine was less than $ 30.00. A pretty good deal considering the amount of food they give you. The dining area was clean. And despite being located inside of a gas station, it was a nice place to eat.

Quite possibly the best burger in the Albuquerque area. It takes a while sometimes, as the staff always seems to be short-handed and the demand always high. I think next time I’ll skip the fries and get two burgers…

Was driving cross country and made a commitment to try a burger from every state. Just happened to stop here for gas. Went inside and saw it was packed and then I caught a whiff of the artwork on the grill. I decided to try a burger, and glad I listen to my nose. I was a bit skeptical about the green chiles but talk about a party in your mouth! The fresh taste is unlike any jardinière-ish topping I have ever tried.

My first review, definitely not my first time here though. My wife and I make the occasional«special» trip for our Laguna burger fix. Awesome from start to finish! Greasy, tasty burger(as they should be). Chili is always very tasty for locals. Maybe hot for tourists(rookies). Fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. They even have good stuff for breakfast. Nuff said!

Yum! Finally made it here! Foodie Adventure on a Thursday night. west of Albuqwerkie I’m sad I didn’t take my 4-traveling duckies. They would have enjoyed this burger. In my opinion one burger can feed two people. Im just sayin’… lol! As I anxiously awaited for our order to be ready I took a few pics and browsed the merchandise of the attached gift shop/gas station. There is plenty of Rt 66 memorabilia to keep one occupied. Finally my name is called, I walk up grab my order as if I hadn’t eaten all day… .lol! I’m walking or rather sprinting back to my table and this beautiful glorious smell wisps through the air… this smell took me back to being a young girl walking through the state fair grounds that familiar scent of Green Chili Cheeseburgers wafting around the midway. I couldn’t wait to take my first bite in a purely reminiscent sort of way but first I had to figure out how to actually take my first bite! This burger if nothing else is huge! Massive! GIGANTIC! here goes nothing! Took the bite with the full combination of ingredients … Sesame seed bun, ooey gooey melted cheese, freshly cut lettuce tomatoes onion pickles and chopped green chili and that beautiful piece of meat. Wowza!!! Now I’m not much of a burger person but I’d heard so many good things about The Laguna Burger from friends, FB posts and Unilocal reviews that I felt the need to try it for myself… I’m happy to report that this burger is too Kool for words! The sight of the burger and the fresh off the grill smell reaching your nose should be enough to tell you that it’s going to be an extraordinary foodie adventure!!! Enjoy! I’m giving it 4 stars… next time I’ll order fries instead of onion rings and I’m sure it’ll pop into 5-star status with me :)

I’m never one to fall for anyone who toutes their burgers as, «The best,» or, «Famous,» by any means. However, my partner just brought home the Laguna Burger because of those exact claims. TMI? Yes. But, I currently have the tummy flu and a burger, famous or not, was the LAST thing I wanted! But, since I’m no quitter, I tried my damndest to get just one bite of that delicious looking, delicious smelling green chili burger down. Sadly, I couldn’t and was forced to spit it out. However, I CAN say that, sick or not, it was honestly one of the best bites of a burger I’ve EVER tasted! Holy cow! And, this is coming from a girl who’s currently gaging at the scent of desert air right now folks! I sincerely plan on crushing this burger once I’m on the mend! Seriously, if you can get a girl to appreciate [maybe even worship] anything while intermittently gagging and dry heaving — you’ve certainly got a hit on your hands! P. S., their green chilies are fantastic! And, their onion rings are absolutely huge, crispy and look fantastic! Well, I’m on the mend now and as promised, I hit that joint up fast! Again, an EXCELLENT burger an their fries and onion rings were awesome! Their staff is awesome as well! My only complaint is the long wait times on your order. But, it’ll be worth the wait!

Green chile cheeseburger was Very good! Meat was very juicy, cooked perfect. Buns were toasted on flat grill. Fries were hand cut and very good. I was looking forward to trying this place out and am glad we finally did. If you feel like eating LotaBurger … DON’T, This place is worth the short drive West. The employee working the register tonight has NO people skills and would probably be better off working the grill and NOT dealing with customers. If my employee had this type of attitude he would not work for me very long(unless he drastically improved his people skills). If the burgers were not so good I would’ve rated a 4 possibly 3 star for the rude service.

A gas station with a good freshcooked burger? Not to mention fresh cut and cooked fries? I had my doubts but I have to admit I was impressed. After a day of hiking Herrera, we had a group of 10 stop. The menu is not extensive but everyone was happy with what they ordered. For $ 8 I had the half pound green chile cheeseburger with fries. The burger is a half pound of fresh beef. I do not know that they grind their own but it tasted like they might. I ate just over ½ the burger and some of the fries. I took the leftovers home and my son inhaled them before I could get the container close to the refrigerator. Sometime I’ll have to take the family out. If you are way out on the west side, keep this in mind. Just remember, it is in a gas station. Seating is a bit limited and the atmosphere is tourist kitsch. But at these prices and quality what’s to lose?

This was truly the best burger I have ever had in my life. The green chili with the burger smashed on top sent it over the top. The grill is seasoned just right, toasted buns and perfectly melted cheese. The fries were very good. The diner was very clean but the service was kind of cold. After we had the burger we really didn’t care about the service. You can tell the locals that eat there and look at you like an outsider, just ignore it, the burgers are worth it.

If you are looking for a diamond in the rough green chile cheese burger place look no further. It is located in the pit stop gas station near the Route 66 casino. I’m not sure if it’s how the burger is prepared or the ingredients, but the burgers I have had are super juicy and tasty. It’s like a hamburger explosion in my mouth with every bite. Their fries are made from fresh cut potatoes, yum! They have recently expanded and have more seating to accommodate their hungry customers. I can’t wait until the next time I get a hamburger craving, so I can go back for another fantastic burger!

Green chili breakfast burrito? Yes please. 3. Absolute heaven with the hash browns, bacon, egg and green chili. I would be remiss, however, to omit the fact they the dystopian owners, however, will charge you .50 cents for a 1 oz side of green chili salsa. Now, put that into perspective. There are 128 ounces in a standard gallon. These little 1 ounce cups of green chili hot sauce on the side are the equivalent of $ 64.00 a GALLON for the stuff.(remember, diesel is selling for 3.91 a gallon average). Where are they getting this green chili from? Venus?!?
