I have been using J Edwards for ALL of my jewelry since my husband found him 15 years ago to make my engagement and wedding rings. They were custom made from a magazine photo and I have loved them ever since. I no longer live in the same state as J. Edwards, but I send my jewelry to John and he takes care of it for me via mail. I also purchase items from them via e-mail because i just don’t trust any other jewelry stores like I do John and J Edwards. They have always been wonderful, honest and informative.

I have been buying jewelry from the owner, John Mead, since they opened in April of 2004 and have always had the best experiences. Whether I am buying a new ring, or rearranging my existing jewelry to make an awesome new custom piece, or I just need something cleaned, John and the staff always give me the time and attention as if I was their only customer. My fiancé and I recently picked out my engagement ring and our wedding rings. Everything had to be ordered, but we got the best price, everything came in on time(some even earlier than expected), and it was just like we thought it would be! We were very thankful for John to give us some ‘engagement ring education’ before making such a big decision. When asked, he suggested the best diamond for us given our needs and budget, and explained WHY it was the best choice. I also enlisted his help for the engagement ring setting. It was something I wouldn’t have picked out of the caseon my own, but it was amazing and I fell in love with it — he really gets to know his customers, and he REMEMBERS their preferences. And well… It was perfect! I am so happy that John took the time to make sure we were comfortable with our purchase. I would never EVER go to another jeweler! John and his staff are the best in the business!

I hate to bash a small business, but people tend to shop at small businesses because they want great customer service and product knowledge, and it may just be my experiences but I did not find these at J Edwards. Initially, I felt very comfortable– I liked the ambiance and I trusted the sales associates. After I picked out my wedding band, the associate wrote down the ring I chose and called me as soon as she had the price quote for platinum. I went in to purchase the ring, come to find out, she had made an error on the quote to my advantage. I was so psyched, because who couldn’t use a great deal on their wedding? A week later I was called and J Edwards said they no longer make my ring in platinum, so I went back in to pick out another ring. Turned out that they had ordered the wrong ring for me in the first place. This should’ve been my first red flag, but I excused the error because the CORRECT ring that I chose still was being made in platinum. I didn’t end up getting the price deal I was originally quoted, which I also brushed off, because the bottom line was that my ring was still in reach. The ring was supposed to come in within 2 weeks and my wedding date was set(on the receipt) for 4 weeks from purchase to ensure we had it in time. No one called me, so I called J Edwards on the 2 week date I was given(on my receipt), and was told by the owner that he had my ring delivery date set as the«wedding date». That should’ve been my second red flag, but I brushed it off thinking I still had several weeks before the wedding. When my «wedding date» came around, no one called me AGAIN, so I called them. The associate said my ring hadn’t come in, but she’d check for details and call me right back. Hours went by and no return call, so I called again. I spoke with a different associate who told me the same thing. I was on fire at this point, and I drove over to J Edwards. Come to find out they didn’t have my ring and wouldn’t have my ring because the vendor emailed them a week ago and said it was too thin to make in platinum. J Edwards didn’t pay attention to the vendor or me during this entire experience. Now I have 3 days before my wedding and no wedding band because of J Edwards constant mistakes! And when I demanded my money down refund, their idea of «making it right» was offering me a «loaner» ring that I could pay $ 1000 more so that I could have a ring at my wedding! Are you kidding me?! Every time I’d look down at the ring I would be enraged. I was more than kind in this synopsis and I suggest if you do decide to give J Edwards your business, you back out at the first red flag you experience.

Just wandered in here one day to get an idea about engagement rings and, more generally, what the crazy world of jewelry looks like. Tony helped me out and taught me a ton about what to look for in a stone and showed me a wide sample of styles and settings. I had already been to a Zales, Jared’s, and Kay’s, but had left feeling like their staff did not do a convincing job of explaining their product to me, having good merchandise, or explaining what I felt like were flaws. Tony, on the other hand, walked me through every variation, taking lots of time and care to be sure I understood exactly what I was looking at and how it compared to other rings. I would, eventually, buy a ring from him and am very very happy with it. I’ll be sure to go here for all my future jewelry needs.
