If you are eating gluten free this is an awesome place to grab lunch. The staff is more than knowledgeable about the allergy and they were very accommodating. Even if you aren’t a Gluten Free eater the steak is melt in your mouth soft and the truffle fries could be a meal by themselves. Also being a born and raised New Mexican I can attest that this is as authentic as it gets(plus they use corn starch instead of flour!!). I don’t drink, so I couldn’t say about the bar but from what I saw it seemed to be well stocked and the bar tender appeared to also be very knowledgeable. This is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Abq!

Easy to find old town restaurant. Tourist food, blue corn enchiladas and not spicy chile. Unfortunately not a clean table or menu. A little cleaning would be appreciated! Pasta was good for the non Mexican pallet.

We love this place and visit when ever we are in Albuquerque we love the décor and the atmosphere of this restaurant and the staff is always helpful up beat and friendly we always start out with the prickly pear margaritas that we always try anywhere they are made available to us and these are by far the best! Next we have a red chile bites appetizer which we like so much we make them at home in California after discovering them here. the steaks are fantastic great cuts and quality prepared perfectly can’t wait till our next visit

Had a great Christmas Eve experience at High Noon with the family! The special dinner menu was well curated, and the service was exceptional. I had the wild boar posole, which was a delicious, interesting twist on the traditional pork posole found throughout New Mexico. Had the chance to try the tenderloin, lamb chops, and prime rib, as well. They were all absolutely incredible — the meat was tender and well seasoned. Their biscochito flan was great, too! The restaurant itself is beautiful — a classic adobe in the heart of Old Town. Has a very warm, homey ambiance. I highly recommend it. P. S. I don’t know how other Unilocalers got food poisoning on the same night we went … I had a bite of almost everything, and I was as well as always!(Maybe they’re confusing food poisoning with alcohol poisoning? Who knows!)

I’ve visited here off and on since the 80’s, and am still going back. Great place for green chile stew and beef bites(seared sugar-coated beef cubes smothered in red chile). The stew can be hot(spicy) but most of the rest doesn’t have much bite, probably for the tourists. This place has become a fixture in Albuquerque in a tourist area, but is heavily frequented by locals. It is always on my list of stops whenever I’m in Old Town. Possibly the friendliest staff in Albuquerque. Quirky and fun… check out the back room(especially in the christmas season). Also, go appreciate the santos in the bar area, and fixtures in the back room with the faces… It’s creepy.

EXTREMEFOODPOISONINGALERT!!! Here Xmas Eve. Had to wait over an hour for our entrées with minimal service in the interim. Zero apology nor reasoning to excuse this poor service. Food was awful and put a damper on what otherwise would have been a special night with out of town relatives. Husband was on the verge of needing hospital from his undercooked prime rib. Unbelievable as this was one of their featured dinner specials. Hope no one else spent their Christmas as sick as he was.

We’ve had the pleasure of an extended stay in this area. We use Unilocal as we travel, and I’m surprised of the overall four rating for this establishment. This is by far some of the best cuisine we’ve experienced in ABQ. All the fish dishes are fresh. The grilled salmon was perfect as were the sides. The NY strip was as well, in addition to the side pairings. We also experienced a local wine. Superb pairing. Then, the award winning cheesecake. Service was top notch too. We have family in for Christmas. We’re making reservations to take them. Oh, do make reservations. The establishment itself was very charming. I’m still thinking about last night’s dinner!

Set back in time, in Old Time Albuquerque, you will find HIGHNOON. Makes you think there will be a shoot out or something at the Old Corral… Enter the ancient wood doors and find a very nice old restaurant, sometimes with live music! I sat in the bar area with all the kiva recesses lined with lights and santos and poinsettias for Christmas and it was special. The Margarita, with cucumber and lime chili on the rim, was also special. The Chicken Enchiladas were OK, but a bit bland and watery unfortunately. Otherwise a fun historic ANCIENT place to explore in Old Town!

Let’s start with the good: the food was absolutely amazing. Everything we ate was delicious. We started with the Red Chilie beef bites, which were so, so good. I had the BBQ short ribs which I seriously cannot recommend enough. The service was also excellent — our waiter was attentive and helpful with the menu(he knew a lot about the various dishes). Our drinks were never empty. We had a reservation and were seated promptly. The bad: our food took a long, long time to come out. Nearly an hour. I had read this in other reviews, but want to mention it again. It was Saturday night and they were busy, and we weren’t in a hurry, but it still was LONG. Our appetizer came out quickly, but after 30 min or so of finishing that, the waiter dropped off chips & salsa on the house to apologize for the time it was taking. He also comped our dessert as an apology. Now, the great food in our minds made up for the wait, but I still took a star off. All that said, we will definitely go back. The food was great & reasonably priced for the quality.

Having enjoyed prior visits to this establishment, I was quite disappointed in my lunch meal earlier this week. I had a platter which was comprised of a chicken taquito, blue corn cheese enchilada, pork inside chili relleno, and a tamale. I asked for green chili. All items were bland and tasteless. I asked for and received an extra side of green chili. I spooned it out of the tiny cup they delivered it in, tasted it and found it extremely mild. When I asked about the«heat» of the green chili I was told that sometimes it was mild. I have enjoyed flavorful Mexican food all my life and am at a loss to explain what has happened to the food at High Noon. I do not plan to return to see if it might get better. I left a note which indicated that the green chili lacked both bite and flavor and suggested that they might be catering to «gringo» taste buds.

WOW… The best short ribs we have had anywhere other than Moms. We stopped here before doing a ghost tour on Halloween. We sat at the bar, ordered short ribs for our entrée, they split it for us, started with empanadas and margaritas. Most enjoyable dinner! The short ribs where tastey… fell apart. oh gosh. we savored every bite. Our bartender was awesome, for that we will be back. Marty provided us the best service. If you are visiting Albq or a local, you must visit this place! Oh… it’s haunted too…

The cocktails were fabulous to begin our meal. Husband had the house margarita and loved the cucumber addition to his drink. I had the Mi Amore Margarita and thought it was great. The Brie Empanadas could have been our entrée. They alone were worth coming in for. The truffle fries we received just for checking in(but still were charged $ 1 for FYI). Husband liked them. I thought they were just okay. We both liked our entrees. Husband wven made room for cheesecake(which he really liked). Service was fast and friendly.

I had the privilege of being treated here for my birthday on 9÷28÷15. I had never been but it was a favorite of my dad’s. We were seated in the bar/lounge area. We ordered the red chile beef tips for an appetizer. They were tender and very flavorful without being overly spicy. For dinner I had the Chicken cilantro pesto pasta dish which was delicious! My dad ordered the bison burger with calavacitas. Very good! The calavacitas were heavy on bell peppers and black beans and not a lot of zucchini, but they were still flavorful. Our service was excellent, Marty ensured that my birthday was special even down to the slice of tres leches cake with a candle. I would recommend this restaurant, very good!

Awesome décor! Comfortable! I asked if they made good margarita’s, and the answer was«yes we make some of the best»! I concur, get the house special, very refreshing and smooth! I ordered their soup of the day which was shrimp chowder, incredible! The broth, creamy smooth, not chunky or thick, very good flavor! I would compare it to some of Boston’s finest! My main dish was the blue enchilada beef barbacoa. It was to die for, with the red sauce, just enough heat with awesome flavor! What a gem in Old Town Albuquerque!

Stopped in for dinner after a day of attending a conference being held close by. This is a very nice upscale place to eat, the service was great an the food was even better! Everything was cooked to perfection and served fresh and quickly. Both our meals were above our expectations and it was truly fine dining!

I have read all the reviews and thought we should give it try. I reviewed the menu and knew exactly what I wanted… the ceviche with watermelon relish! Well guess what they didn’t have it! The server said they have not had it in 4 months! Why is it on the menu then? Even she said that she wished the owner would remove it. Soooooo, she recommended the salmon. It was okay nothing to write home about. However, the truffle fries were awesome! I will probably give them another chance, it was a neat little place. It was also a little pricey, probably because of the tourists. Final word… try the jalapeño margarita, it was great.

This is my first Unilocal review. I enjoyed the rustic style of the restaurant and the service was very good we were greeted as soon as we walked in. I ordered the calamari appetizer it was pretty good however I did not like the white cream sauce kind of like tartar sauce that was on top I would’ve preferred just to have the marinara. I ordered the pork chop I must say it was quite tasty and probably one of the best I’ve ever had. I would like to commend the wait staff on how they promptly refilled my tea glass that is very important to me. I will be back again.

I attended High Noon Restaurant and Saloon for lunch on 4th of July weekend, just after visiting the splendid ABQ Biopark and Zoo. While the place was not busy for lunch, we were seated immediately and received prompt service. The waitress was able to give intelligent input about several dishes when prompted, and the three of us ordered accordingly. My friends got a bison burger and a ribeye, while I ordered a steak salad on the server’s recommendation. I did not regret it — it was perhaps the best steak salad I had in my life. The steak was prepared through brining in brown sugar at least 5 hours before preparation and it showed. Juicy, tender with just the right amount of sweetness the steak was phenomenal well complemented by a nice blue cheese dressing. My one critique is that the food took longer than expected to arrive — it wasn’t that we were opposed to the wait if forewarned, but the 30+ minutes it took to prepare our meals could have been bridged with an appetizer. Our drinks were continuously serviced in this period — it’s not as if we were being ignored, just that I think a longer than traditional prep time could use some notice. But, the wait was well worth it. The food received universal accolades around the table, and I’d gladly return to the High Noon Restaurant and Saloon next time I’m in Albuquerque.

Awesome place. Loved the décor and the aura. The servers(one named Sam), we had two stop by our table throughout the meal, were super friendly. We definitely took advantage of the free truffle fries with our Unilocal check in. They were so addictive. We went through the entire basket quickly and basically licked the bowl clean. Food was delicious. We ordered the short ribs and the barbacoa blue corn enchiladas. Each were delicious. Enchiladas were spicy(not super, but yummy. I love spicy food) and short ribs had a bit of a sweetness to them with the peach bbq sauce in which they were cooked. So much food and so much goodness. One note: they do not have frozen margaritas, but over the rocks are pretty great.
