I’m so impressed with the service I received from Jennifer. She truly understands the color wheel. I pull red anytime I dye my hair, and Jennifer knew exactly what to do to combat the red. I’ve gone back and forth between blonde and dark hair for years, mostly because I’ve never had the right tone in my hair, but Jennifer got it. I’d recommend Jennifer to anyone who’s struggling with hair color concerns. I’d also note the salon has new life in it. I went to the salon years ago, and never disliked it, but I will say, with my return to the salon, the new, young stylists are impressive and fresh.

I’m giving my stylist, Jennifer Rios three stars, and not giving the owner the other two stars. I got my haircolor fixed here, it had been done horribly somewhere else. Jennifer did a great job. When I thought to call later to ask for the recipe, the owner wouldn’t give it to me, like it was some sort of trade secret or something! I’ve had plenty of Aveda stylists write down the color recipe for me when I was moving. If you want the recipe, ask the stylist right then, the owner is tightfisted and unsympathetic and looking out for his bottom line, but in a way that isn’t working.

I went in to Golden Shears after buying a Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout to make an appointment. I was greeted at the door by Brianna and she was able to book an appointment for me with her on the day before I was to leave on vacation to Cozumel. I also wanted to have my hair colored and highlighted, she took be back to her chair to see what I was thinking about doing with my hair, after her nice consult I decided to go ahead and book with her for everything. The day of my appointment came and I went in with some trepidation about how everything would turn out especially since I was leaving the next day. I shouldn’t have worried at all! Brianna was great from start to finish. My color and highlights were beautiful! I received so many compliments on my trip from my friends. The blowout came out beautiful as well. I will definitely be back. The salon is very pretty and clean, everyone is friendly. The only cons I can relate is I didn’t like that I had to sign a waiver for not buying the Brazilian Blowout products to «extend» the blowout. I already have the whole system at home(a little goes along way) and felt a little high pressure sales tactic thing when I had to sign the waiver. The other con is of course the price, Over $ 200.00 for color and 5 foils… not even a haircut!!! A little much. Without the Groupon this would have been a $ 500.00 hair appointment. I think the stylists should make sure you know what exactly they are charging you for because it seems like all salons are piece mealing their services ie. Color, Toner(whatever that is) Highlights, Hair Cut, Blow Dry, Flat Iron ect. What happened to the days when a salon visit included drying and styling your hair? Anyway, I will be making an appointment with Brianna in the future for color/highlights and haircut. Brianna is a gem!

I want to like this salon. I really do. It’s close to my work. It’s an Aveda Salon. It’s full service.(hair, makeup, massage, skin care, manicure/pedicures etc.) Parking is easy. Appointments are timely kept. Reminder call prior to appointment. Complimentary mini scalp massage with haircut. Owner is friendly. Some really solid reasons to give a 5-star rating, right? BUT… get ready. Here it comes… they charge extra for flat iron services! WTH? I pay $ 45 for a hair cut, a trim at that, and then they are going to charge me EXTRA for 3 flat irons passes on my hair? You have got to be kidding me, right? Next, I’m afraid they are going to charge me extra if I want warm water to rinse my hair. It reminds me of the airlines that are now charging for meals, luggage, seats.(That is why I only fly Southwest when I can, by the way.) Don’t nickle and dime me. Don’t treat me like a chump. Raise your prices if you have to and hide it in there somewhere. The air conditioning wasn’t on while I sat in the chair. Can I get a $ 10 discount??? And cash tips are the preferred method. They don’t say it HASTO be cash but it is preferred. Sorry, Joe. Don’t mean to split hairs, but I have to take my business elsewhere.

I had a holiday gift package here a while back. I got a body scrub, hair cut, and manicure. The woman assigned to me had a man accompany her during the hair cut process. Among other things he criticized my hair texture then called me an all around«hairy girl» commenting on my neck while she stood by giggling. I regret not walking out earlier. The rest of the visit was ruined for me and I will never return. I hope the employees learn to think before ridiculing clients.

Wonderful place to get your hair done at a very friendly Aveda salon. Christy is the best! Ask for her.
