Ordered a #14(two carne asada burritos, rice, beans) a carnitas burrito, and some chips. Drove home to find that they left the carnitas burrito out and also no salsa. Called them to let them know that I was coming back for the burrito and they said we could pick it up at the window. 10 minute drive back there, went to the window and nobody came so I parked and went in. They hadn’t even started on the burrito, so I guess they forgot the phone call or something. Well, the burritos were pretty bad. I mean, they weren’t gross, but they were all dry meat and dry pico. The rice and beans were good, but you can’t build a brand on rice and beans. Oh and the cashier went out of his way to mock my girlfriend because she didn’t say carnitas in as much of a Mexican accent as he would have liked. He acted like he didn’t understand her, as if a native English speaker says carnitas in such a way as to make it indistinguishable from that of a native Spanish speaker. Anyway, you may as well just go to Taco Bell. While their food may be less authentic, it still tastes better and you’re likely to get better service.

I stopped in on a whim for lunch not knowing anything about Filibertos. I wish I had done homework. Admittedly, I tend to order the same thing every time at Mexican/New Mexican restaurants: beef enchilada, green, extra sauce. I like what I like, and I can compare restaurants pretty easily because of that. I ordered the usual and got rice and beans as well. In a word, the enchilada was terrible. Hands down, it was the worst I’ve ever had. The beef tasted heavily processed and salty, and was pale(pale?) in color. The onions overpowered everything else. One enchilada had almost no beef, while the other was stuffed. I don’t consider myself terribly picky as an eater, but this was genuinely bad. Maybe it was an off day. Maybe their regular beef supplier called in sick. Maybe the cook was new. Who knows. In the end, I ate less than half and(I hated to do it but) threw the rest out. The meal plus a drink were over $ 10, so not exactly cheap fast food, either. To add to the negative experience, the tables were dirty(very, in some cases) and I had to search to find one that was half way clean. All in all, the worst dining experience I’ve had in ABQ.

Horrible service, mediocre drinks… but good food. What gives? The drive-through is very narrow, so watch out if you got a big truck.

By the far the best steak and egg burrito. Very very filling, made fresh, and delicious.

Big fan of all the berto’s across the southwest & west coast. Filibertos, Robertos, leobertos, Johnbertos & Tombertos. If it has a Bertos in the name try it. I strongly recommend this place, which is right over the Rio Grande river, ½ mile from major tourist attractions in Albuquerque such as Old Town, BioPark, Tingley Beach, Zoo, bike & hiking trails & Breaking Bad spots. Don’t let the area bother you. Yeah it’s on the other side of the river. It’s just a regular Mexican neighborhood part of town with hard working people like yourselves. If you want to eat made to order fast food Real good Mexican food hit this place up. If you like good fat carne asada burritos, carne asada fries, regular big crispy tacos or street tacos, enchiladas or any good MX food this is the place. Keep in mind this is not New Mexican food. This place is the good hole in the wall type of joint. Make this place part of your tourist plan. You can order drive thru and drive back over the river and eat at Tingley Beach area.

My amigo tells me this is the best Mexican food in town. Very authentic! But my experience here today suggests otherwise. Either that, or Albuquerque is a Mexican food desert… I ordered a chili relleno plate for about $ 7.00 that was fairly good, but nothing special. The chilies were smallish and didn’t contain as much cheese as I am used to. The batter was also thin. But they were well cooked and hot all the way through. This came with beans that did not taste home-made. The corn tortillas on the side were definitely machine made and not on this site. They were the worst part of my meal. My friend had the machaca plate for about $ 7.50. His looked better, with a nice mix of beef and scrambled egg. So this place earns a solid 3 stars in my book. The staff were friendly, and I’ll possibly come again, but I won’t go out of my way to do so. Next time, it’s Los Pollos Hermanos for me!

I had never been to Filibertos but I had driven past many around town. After finishing puppy stuff with my daughter she was famished so we took off from her place and she wanted to stop here. Thinking she had been here before, I pulled into parking lot and ventured inside. Was not really hungry but did not want to stop again or have to make something when I got home, i lazily ordered the number 8(don’t know why, it just stuck out) rolled tacos with guac, rice and beans. My daughter asked the cashier what kind of burrito’s were good and she was recommended a steak burrito.(that thing was huge, lol) When the order was ready, I was not impressed. Rolled tacos tasted like frozen variety, rice was flavorless and beans had a whitish cast(too much lard?) Based on my food I would’ve given them 2 stars, she really liked hers so kind of averaged the plates together. Would I go again? yeah Would I order something different? yeah Will try something different next time and update from that.

This is definitely the best Filiberto’s location. They always get the order right, and the portions are very generous, and the staff is nice. Easy location to get to!

Do you like throwing up? How about some diarrhea? You have found your spot! There is also something really poisonous tasting in the red sauce here. Cannot pinpoint it, but best not to question, just avoid. Also, the beans are a very, very pale color and all congealed indicating a really high lard content I’m assuming? Ew, nasty.

Ordered the chicken tacos, chicken burrito and cheese quesadilla and it was wonderful. The meat was grilled and addictive.
