Downtown Distillery

We went there many occasions. Bar sucks but Out of all bartenders We found Denease a fast, Efficient and attentive bartender. She knows what she is doing. She keeps everything neat and clean. Great Job. One other bartender had a meanest look on her face every time .She was always on her phone. When I approached for drink she notified other busy bartender to help me when herself was on phone.

Ghetto. Like everywhere else downtown. Just a crappy, ghetto atmosphere. If you’re a young college student or professional, this is not a cool place to hang out.
There was no cover, but the bouncer expect a tip. I thought that was weird.
Don’t waste your time here. Go to a bar in Nob Hill.

In order to understand Distillery, you have to make sure you go with the proper expectation. This isn’t a high scale place, so don’t expect that if you go here. I would classify Distillery as a Dive Bar. They have cheap drinks, free pool/​ping pong and decent service. The venue itself is a bit old, but not terrible. The crowd can be interesting, depending on the night. I’ve never felt uncomfortable here, there’s just a mix of different people, but everyone is minding their own business.
Stop by as a stop on your night out downtown, but don’t plan to spend your whole night here. If you want somewhere classy, then skip it. The bottom line is: there’s cheap drinks — that’s what keeps me going back.

My wife went last Friday. The bartender never gave her the card back and charged a 95% tip.

Skuzzy old smells like puke. Cheap beer and entertainment, a undesirable crowd of low life’s cholo and wyno. Did I leave anything out?

This was sort of my hang out while I was living in Albuquerque. It’s a scuzzy dive bar with pool tables. It’s run by the same people that run the strip club down the street so the bar tenders are pretty hot. Some of the bartenders are cool, others aren’t. Best ones are D and Sophia. This place has a touchtunes jukebox, which can be good or bad, depending on who’s at the bar. Expect a lot of AC/​DC, Tupac, and Disturbed to play. The clientele is very New Mexican, mostly Native metalheads and wannabe cholo types. The bar has sports on TV and ping pong and fuzzball so frat boys may like it. It also may be a good place to go if you’re a nerd as there is a Playstation 3 and one of the bartenders is always showing off her superhero tattoos. There’s not a lot of female clientele, this is more of a get wasted with the boys type of place than a place to go with your girlfriend. It’s not a hipster bar like Anodyne, don’t expect a wide variety of IPAs or expensive liquor. This is a Bud and Jack Daniels type of establishment. It’s a pretty seedy place. The kinda bar people get hammered and score drugs at. If you’re into that check it out, but don’t expect the ritz. Go on weekdays rather than Friday or Saturday because it gets crowded and awful most weekends.

It was a fun bar but why are there trophies of hunted deer plastered to the walls? I don’t want to see a dead animal’s giant head every time I go there.

Worst place ever! Bartenders r bitches! Don’t like gay guys! They r rude. Nothing but horrible people. Will never go there again. I will contact my lawyer for discrimination.

I didn’t have a good experience last Saturday night — first time I’ve been to this place. It wasn’t busy at all when we came (around 9PM), and I saw that the ping pong table was available. I ordered 2 beers and told the bartender we wanted to play ping pong, but also we wanted to play pool. She said she was going to write my name down which I never saw her doing so.
After we finished playing ping pong (we played for about one hour), I asked her how long for the pool table. She said we were second one line. I asked her if she was sure about that because I never saw her writing my name down. She grabs a piece of paper, asks for my name and then write on a piece of napkin.
She then looks at me with a face like: «I’m not writing your name down unless you tip me for that». I then ordered 2 more drinks (and both times I ordered I gave her tip), watched some TV and left this place.
I’m definitely not going back here — I hate giving my hard earned money for people who doesn’t deserve it. I had a much better experience at The Anodyne.

Though the bartender was very nice and polite not sure if this would be the place for young professionals to hang out. Bunch of college peeps and not that there’s anything wrong with that but wasn’t my cup of tea for sure.
Pool tables weren’t very well kept, given it was free.
One bartender had her list of special mixed drinks and they were impeccable.

We typically go to Anodyne for our billiards needs. However, this past time anodyne was busy so we decided to check out the Distillery across the street. The bar itself felt dingy, weird collection of music playing, there were quite a bit of tables which was nice, made the wait short. Drinks were fair and the total bill with pool ended up being cheap… But some of the crowd in there were ridiculous, sitting on the tables while we were playing pool, one guy obviously drunk & rowdy had his shirt off should have been escorted out… And one of the bartenders acted inconvenienced to serve you. Overall okay experience, but will probably stick to anodyne.

Ping pong ping pong ping pong! The best table tennis table in ABQ — new, with high quality net and high quality paddles/​blades. Add in reasonably priced drinks, and that’s all I need.

Twenty somethings only listening to a weird mix of 80s classics, hip hop, country and pop love ballads. That wasn’t my problem. The problem was the bartender who was pretentious and seemed surprised that I was upset to find she took my drink after my journey through the catacombs to a restroom. I admit, I went for the cheap drinks on Thursday, but they were just that… cheap drinks. Wait. no, no they weren’t cheap; In fact my White Russians were just very expensive milk. I just can’t recommend this place.

Distillery is a place where you either love it or hate it. I on the other hand tend to love it. Downstairs has been remodeled and looks like your typical laid back dark bar then you make your ways upstairs and feels like your in a frat house. This place has really cheap drinks and cant beat there $ 2 Jäger shots anytime of the day.

Free pool free ping pong free PlayStation free foosball no draft beer. Internet juke box. $ 2.75 Thursdays be nice to your bartender become a regular become a god. Only real bar in town.

Most disappointing bar in ABQ if not all of New Mexico. I would not recommend it at all. Anodyne and Melony’s are much better, they have better waiting staff, and much much better bartenders!

Love this place! Cheap drinks and free pool!

Pretty chill place. Came up for a couple beers & pool and that’s exactly what we got. We got here before 7pm, so we were one of two groups there. Had a chill time.

I was hanging out in my hotel room with a bunch of cousins and uncles. My two 50 year old uncles asked if I wanted to go for a walk downtown. We cruised into this place. It was reasonably full with people dancing and having a good time. The place is reasonably nice.
When you walk in there is a dj and a dance floor to your left. the club/​bar has pretty cool laser/​light effects going on. The bar has nothing really special going on in terms of beer (I talked to some locals supposedly the bar to go to for beer is anodyne which is located across the street). Upstairs has more of a pool hall atmosphere, a few tables and a cigarettes vending machine.
I did my exploring of this place ordered a beer and did some dancing. I was dancing by myself till a very heavy set girl came up to me and started dancing with me. I was super shocked when she got on the floor and started break dancing. To my surprise she was actually good. I decided to leave when she was spinning on the floor.

Had a good time here. Pool tables upstairs. The waitress was very quick in making her rounds.
