The food here is fresh and innovative yet not to the point of being bizarre. My companion had naked chicken fajitas, which were deliciously marinated. I went for the fish tacos, a wonderful meal. The fish was moist and flavorful. They have a great beer selection as well, including Kona Brewing Co, my personal favorite. I will definitely visit again to try new items.

Baileys surprised me — in a good way. Only been once. The Beach Blanket Scramble is cheap, prepared with care(especially given the price), and huge(I’m a growing boy). Great view. Fun, kitschy environment. Probably a fun place to get drunk at.

Bailey’s is fun, with an enjoyable rooftop patio, delicious food and attentive service. We stopped by for lunch on Mother’s Day, Roy and Bailey the owners were on hand to greet and help us. This restaurant rocks. Hurry to get there soon, the owner is closing on 5⁄20 to get some respite. Thanks for reading. The Bike Chaplain

This place is awesome… no really… it is! I’ve been four times in the last 2 months and I can say each of my visits has been consistent. I have to say the first time it was a little confusing. I sat down for a second and then realized I had to go to the counter to order. Oops! After that it was all good. The first time I ordered the breakfast burrito and the cold drip coffee. The burrito was pretty standard but that cold drip is out of this world. It made my day. On subsequent visits have fallen in love with the cajun fish tacos. They have just the right amount of sauce and garnish and two lovely warm tortillas that hug grilled Maji Maji. Their cappuccino is also noteworthy and I would stop in just for that if I was in the neighborhood. Their staff and the ambiance do not go unnoticed. It’s a modern-beach space with warm and welcoming staff. Friendly, fast, and fun service. I’ll be back…

I really like this place. It has a pretty chill california vibe. Seriously, the staff, ambiance, and décor all scream Cali. Oh yeah and the food is pretty good too. I had a delicious sandwich and a beer. They have quite a few beers to choose from. On tap and in bottles. They guy gave me a free beer because the tap ran out and he didn’t want me to just have a bottom of the keg beer. It’s the small friendly things like that that will keep me coming back for sure!

This is one of my all-time favorite place to grab a bite. It helps that it’s near my house and has a great patio during warm-weather months, but I’ve also yet to be disappointed by their food. My favorites are their burgers, fish tacos, and the Jamaican pasta — look out, it’s spicy! Staff is always very friendly, which is one of the big things that keeps me coming back. They also do free delivery if you’re nearby — the other day I had Bailey’s for breakfast in bed on a chilly morning, it was great!

I tried the fish tacos per the great reviews from other Unilocalers. I went and got take out and I loved them! I seriously think these could be the best fish tacos in Albuquerque! When I walked in, I was impressed by the atmosphere. Very beachy. I also liked that you could see the cooks cooking up yummy food. The next time I go, I’ll have to check out the rooftop. They had all of the beers and drinks that they offer displayed and they had these delicious looking white chocolate candy apples displayed. One of them was calling my name and I couldn’t resist. It was awesome! I got the blackened mahi-mahi tacos. They were perfectly seasoned and came with this slaw that was amazing. I like my fish tacos on corn tortillas, so that was a plus. They also came with this spicy salsa that was really good. The candy apple was first coated in caramel and then in white chocolate and sprinkled with this lavender colored flaky sugar. Not only was it pretty, but it was delicious! The only con I see with this place was the fish tacos are a little pricey. I got 3 fish tacos(I only ate 2) and a candy apple and spent almost $ 20! I know that fish can be pretty pricey. However, it looks like the rest of the menu is pretty decently priced. I hope they make it. Very unique and cool place to eat!

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food given the shabby looking, beach bum façade of the building. Inside is more of a modern chic surfer feel rather than a lazy beach bum feel, with accents of white and blue and TV screen playing surfer movies. The tables and chairs are bright white and clean looking. Didn’t visit the patio as it was a chilly evening, but can imagine it’s a fab time in the warmer weather. Orders are taken at the counter, which was a bit cumbersome as the menu is against the far wall(there are paper menus, but they can be easily missed and were missed by many guests we watch order). There are 2 registers, but the second is difficult to see unless you are directed to walk over by an employee. The beer selection is not displayed well either, so make sure you ask about ALL the beers they have available. I think the order area layout is poor and was NOT well thought when built. Either way though, we placed our order, paid and took a seat. The food came quickly. We both ordered the fish tacos; mine«grilled», my boyfriends«blackened». They were good. The fish is not breaded, which I really like.(too many restaurants try their hand at fish tacos and serve some deep fried, breaded crap). The grilled fish tacos were the perfect mix of apple and papaya coleslaw, avocado and pico freshness and mahi mahi tastiness. I really enjoyed this meal. The blackened were a bit hot, as in spicy hot. They were a little too hot for my liking, but my boyfriend enjoyed them although wished he’d gotten the grilled. Also ordered the Kahuna Nachos as an appetizer and they were average; nothing special, nothing to complain about. Overall, Baileys on the Beach is a win. Staff was friendly and attentive. I also like that they have a dedicated parking lot making it easy and fast to find a parking spot.

This is the only place in town that makes you feel like you are on the west coast. The waitresses are very sweet and helpful. They have a rooftop patio and it is a magical place, spring through fall. The food is also amazing. Our favorite thing here is the fish tacos and since I’m doing the Keto diet, the fajitas are my choice of the week. I only wish you could walk out onto a beach after your meal and catch a couple waves.

I first came here because I’d driven by a number of times and seen the rooftop patio and thought«Cool.» On my first visit, I ordered a beer downstairs and headed up to the patio to soak in some sun, watch cars pass and sip my brew. It was a pleasant experience, but considering the heat on this particular afternoon and that the setup isn’t designed for mingling, I didn’t feel like sticking around too long. Still, I supsect now that the afternoons and evenings are cooler, even crisp, I may have to return to get a new perspective. Now as far as the food, I really can’t recommend anything here. I came with my wife, my father, and my little sister and found that none of us was blown away by our meal. I ordered a green chile reuben, which sounded so enticing on paper, yet felt it was lacking in almost every department. It tasted nothing like the great Reubens I’ve had on the east coast — usually with a rich, pepper-heavy pastrami, powerful sauerkraut, and a tangy mustard— and the one part of the sandwich I thought would still make the sandwich good — the green chile — was bland and mild. I was quite disappointed. My father had a breakfast burrito and judging from the shrug of his shoulders when I asked if it was good or not, I’d say it’s not something I’d ever order. My wife had waffles and said they were good, but I’d want to hear something like«Delicious» to make me order such a dish. My little sister had a cheeseburger and demolished it, but she does this with everything she eats so I can’t rely on her feedback. Overall, the patio here is the real draw and even so, is best enjoyed with good company. I do like the decent selection of beer, so that’s a plus. I guess I’ll have to return to try some of the other dishes that Unilocalers fawn over. But this place isn’t high on my priority list.

The food here is meh. Nothing I can really say for it. I haven’t been super recently. I think it’s been about a year. The menu was kind of sad with hot-dogs and the like on it. Sorry, Bailey’s. I want to support local, but I can’t support mediocrity.

Baileys does have a wonderful roof to sit and observe the Nob Hill area of Albuquerque, but everything else was just«meh» to me. The prices aren’t bad, but they aren’t great. You don’t get a server so if you choose to run upstairs and claim your steak to a cute little table upstairs you then have to walk up and down the stairs every time you need a refill or another beer. I don’t mind the exercise, but I was there for a relaxing birthday dinner with some friends, so having to take care of myself was just not something I was interested in doing. The patio was nice though, and maybe I got the wrong vibe from eating here the first time.

Here’s a tip: Once you scale the three flights of stairs to reach Bailey’s rooftop patio, look no further than the first available table. Take a seat, close your eyes and imagine you’re sitting at an oceanside food shack: salty air mingling with blackened mahi-mahi, sipping an ice cold cerveza, waves lapping the shoreline while the hours slip by without a worry. Listen, it even sounds perfect, Bob Marley’s «Everything Will Be Alright» fading as Sublime gets a spin. My advice: don’t open your eyes. In fact, just wait for the staff to deliver your Kahuna nachos – a great finger food starter– and then feel around for a fork and dig into the delightful Pinot Noir Shells, an easy, light vegetable affair. Most of the seafood at this joint is worth a bite, and the burgers have a vegetarian black bean option, way gnarly. Choose from a fantastic selection of local and national brews, bring a friend and lap up the sunshine. Remember my advice? Do NOT open your eyes! If you do… well, you’re in Albuquerque. Your ocean is the UNM parking lot, your beach a strip mall, the bathers? Well, maybe you’ll catch a half-naked Don Schrader. Again, do NOT open your eyes.

My friend took me here for one of our gatherings. I lived near the ocean pretty much my whole life and I kind of miss it now that I moved to ABQ. That being said, the roof terrace of Bailey’s completed transported me to my days at the beach. It had cool colors and décor, it was breezy, fresh and had a free/open feeling to it. The food was so tasty too! I’m sure I’ll keep on going back to this place over and over again. (Update — 5÷30÷2012) This week I went to Bailey’s with a group of friends and decided to bring my dog along. As usual in this place, I had a great time, but I want to make a special notice of how nice and welcoming the staff was to my dog. As soon as they saw her, they gave me natural treats for her and brought a bowl of fresh water to our table. I thought that was such a nice touch. Thank you Bailey’s!!!

Everything about this place is awesome. Clean, tastefully furnished dining room, good beer selection, soft ciabatta bun and fresh ingredients on the burgers, soggy but delicious(and spicy!) sweet potato fries, friendly server, beautiful building, etc… I’m going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this one, but I did ask for my burger medium, and it came out pretty well done. It was still a good burger, but could have been incredible. I’d give them a chance to redeem themselves, for sure.

When you feel like something other than burritos and enchiladas, come here. Bailey’s is bringing a different flavor to ABQ that is much needed. This town doesn’t have alot of patio dining so on a nice day the rooftop is a refreshing change. The food is pretty good here, not great but definitely not bad. Like many others have said the fish tacos are a solid choice, haven’t tried the breakfast yet. The place does have alot of appeal to me though. Its very clean with an upbeat vibe and the employees round it out with genuine friendliness. Bringing kids with you? They can goof off in the sandbox out front(great idea) or listen to the ocean from one of the seashells in the dining room or they might get a kick out of climbing the stairs to the roof. Im diggin Bailey’s on the Beach, especially when I’ve got my nephew with me.

First of all, the hours are posted incorrectly here – they are open from 8:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. every day, except on Sat, when they don’t close until 10:00 p.m., so many more hours than are listed on Unilocal. The blackened fish tacos are the best! Excellent! And it’s a very cool place with really nice staff and a comfortable, laid back atmosphere. I felt like I was by the beach in San Diego, which is the point, I think. I highly recommend this place!

Yum! My boyfriend and I came here after a show over at Aux Dog. While we looked at and admired the rooftop patio, it was too hot to sit up there. The front room was also warm due to its proximity to the kitchen, but the room to the right as you enter was cool and comfortable. I had the Jamacian shell pasta. At first I was a little put off by how oily it looked, but it wasn’t nearly as greasy as I was anticipating and the spice was just right with a great flavour it. My boyfriend had the beach blanket scramble(minus the meat) and found it very good and we both enjoyed the barely naked quesadillas and the tropical fruit side. Good beer selection, friendly service, good food, and a fun atmosphere. We’ll be back to sit on the roof in cooler weather, especially since I just read we can bring our dog up there.

Blackened fish tacos are heaven wrapped in two soft tortillas! Every time we come here we get the blackened fish tacos. The addition of the papaya/apple slaw and fresh avocado makes this dish perfection. We also get a side order of sweet potato fries(not fried, but still amazing). Items on the menu are reasonably priced and everything is fresh. The homemade iced tea is brewed on their rooftop and is definitely worth trying. If you eat on the rooftop you can actually see jugs of this stuff brewing in the sun! Excellent food, reasonable prices, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere — doesn’t get better than that! Dog owners: Bring your dog(s) and sit on the rooftop! Bailey’s welcomes your dog with a bowl of fresh water and a biscuit! Bailey’s is definitely one of my favorite places to eat in Albuquerque.

Usually I visit a restaurant two or three times before penning a review. I’ll make an exception for Bailey’s, a new spot in Nob Hill, as everyone I’ve talked to who has been there loves the place. It’s nestled in an aging strip mall on that weird 5 way intersection at Central, Girard, and Monte Vista. The location is great for access to the Nob Hill section of Central and to the University of New Mexico as well. The place is decorated with a fun beach theme that is bright and cheerful, with a cool fountain inside and seating on the ground floor. The theme is not too overblown and is tastefully done and clean. Perhaps the coolest physical feature of Bailey’s is the third floor balcony that overlooks the street. You can eat upstairs patio style while taking in the breeze and sunshine. Ambiance gets a solid«A». Admittedly I expected the food to be average. We tried the fish tacos, mahi kabob and the creamy green chili chicken soup. They were all outstanding. Finally someone clued into the general sogginess of fish tacos — they double stack the tortillas to prevent tortilla breakage and spillage. The mahi kabob was light with tasty veggies without being overcooked. The creamy green chili chicken soup was incredibly scrumptious. It had a little bite and the double roasted chili really brought out that nice green flavor.(Those readers who know what I mean will understand.) There looked to be enough on the menu to keep us coming back for a while and trying new stuff.(Next time I’m getting the Seafood Stew — it looked amazing at other diners tables). The Food Grade gets an «B+» — nothing too fancy bordering on pretentious but nothing off-the-chart best-meal-ever amazing either. Finally, the service. We went at lunch on a weekend and it was crowded and service was a tad slow which is understandable given the time of day. The service staff was organized and courteous. They’ll gladly hike up the thirty plus steps to the third balcony with your food or deliver it curbside for to go orders. They even deliver within two miles. The staff was also really kid friendly. All of these perks add up to an «A» for me. Overall a great pick and one we’ll definitely be back too.
