Went here for the Semicolon Tattoo Project and saw Dave… his office is seedy and his customer service is terrible. He placed my tattoo crooked and got mad when I tried to tell him where I wanted the placement! He was very rude overall. He also wrapped it with a paper towel and masking tape and gave me no aftercare cream or instructions… a big no no in the tattoo world! My tattoo looks like I did it myself, not professionally. Sad after trusting these guys after seeing their star reviews.

I had to have a tattoo polished from another artist and I was looking at local people. I saw a drawing of a skull on facebook that stole my heart. I looked into who the artist was and it was Jeff Lujan. SO… I had the most beautiful piece done from my hip all the way up my ribs to the bottom of my shoulder. I gave Jeff my ideas to add to the skull and he just drew it on me with such confidence and the result is stunning! !! I am in love with the left side of my body! The business itself is amazing as well. They hold fundraisers and events to help out local artists and get involved with community events helping familes and children in need. They have class, heart, soul, and amazing artists!

I see Jespah. He is one of the owners. He is very clean and professional. I’m working on a sleeve, he drew up a great piece from my ideas. Im done with the outline, now I’m working on filling it in. I chose Jespah because I like his work. My husband had a half sleeve done and it looks awesome!

I went for a tattoo a couple of months ago by Eric. I regret going to him as I now have a subpar tattoo that I am having fixed by another artist. It turned out different than what I was wanting, and the drawing seems amateurish. I had to go back for a touch up as he left several blank spots. After he retouched the piece I saw he didn’t even get the same colors. Looks like shit. But that’s what you get for a $ 75/​hr tattoo artist. 10⁄10 would not go back to him. I am only giving two stars because the shop itself was clean and everyone was pretty nice. The other artists seem to have good portfolios.

So incredibly happy with this place. Everyone was so nice and professional. The shop is spotless and Eddie does amazing work. I will never go anywhere else and totally recommend Eddie… And if he is booked I wouldn’t hesitate seeing another artist.

Very professional business. Very clean. Both my spouse and I have been here at least 10 times combined. The owner is definitely invested in his business and the community. They participate in monthly charity art events along with making sure that you love your tattoos. They have got books out front of their work so you can see which artists might be a great fit for you.

Albuquerque’s tattoo industry is flooded with tattoo shops on practically every street corner! What makes Archetype stick out is their levels of professionalism, cleanliness, and their amazing and crazy talented artists — no lie, not just a couple of them; freaking All of them. If you’re looking for a cute little 15 minute piece done RIGHT NOW, this may not be the place to go as there is no flash on their walls and their artists seem to focus on larger, more intricate pieces which involve a consultation before the artwork is started! I have many tattoos from all over town and even a few out of town and will never go anywhere other than Archetype, EVER! They have their shit together!

Archetype has some great artists. Jespah Torres and Ben Shaw are both super talented. Jespah is especially good with portraits and black and white, but can do it all. They have a great gallery in the front and a totally professional and clean space with a cool vibe. I think there are about 8 artists of all types in the crew at the moment but I hear they are expanding. Stop in here before you get any work done anywhere else.
