First, I do NOT write reviews, this is my first. Second, if you are looking for an entry level sewing machine, high end embroidery, quilting/long arm, thread or fabric therapy with a staff that understands your addiction… Ann Silva’s Sewing Center is the place to visit. The staff, instruction and creativity exceeds expectations. Great class room with lots of light and the lunch for classes does not disappoint. Sheryl K.

This place is absolutely fantastic! Quite honestly I never knew places like this existed until my daughter started taking classes here three summers ago at age 6.5!(they can teach 6 year olds how to put in a zipper!) Recently we purchased a Bernina(there is no pressure to buy one when your child takes classes by the way) and it was when we purchased the machine that I really got a sense of how amazing this place really is! They will talk you through things on the phone, they will help when you go in, they have four free 3 hour classes when you buy a machine, and you can take them over and over throughout the years, they will allow you to try different presser feet on your machine before you buy them(a real help with a recent leather project), they have specials every month, and they have an in-house repair shop for all machines. They even send in your warranty information for you when you buy the machine! The machines are beautifully made, but the real gem is the amazing customer service and help when you need it. As someone who has just started sewing again after a 30 year break, I cannot imagine trying to get back into it without all the help I have received at this store… the customer service itself is worth the cost of the machine!

I have had a relationship with this business since 1982 when my husband and I accidentally traded our VW bus for a Bernina 830 machine. A legend was born. The Bernina products are solid, quality from the low end to the high end of the line. Mrs Silva has taken that quality and built it into one of the most successful businesses in the Bernina family. The staff may seem a little cool sometimes but I find a nice balance of independent browsing, help when needed and chatting with strangers about our common interest — sewing, quilting, needlework. We haven’t lived in the Albuquerque area for decades now but I make it a point to visit the shop, say«Hi» and check out the latest products and ideas.
