Aldo’s is an often overlooked gem in downtown Albuquerque. Although some past patrons may claim issues with service, we have always experienced friendly and extremely courteous service. Aldo’s pizzas are delicious and they are the only place in town to offer a green chile, chicken, Alfredo pizza(which is to die for!) Our advice to all who find themselves downtown is to give this place a try! Once you do, you’ll be a life-long fan :)

I was reading reviews whilst waiting for our calzone, and was quite surprised to hear such negative comments. I had a great experience that I didn’t expect because the low reviews had me doubting the quality. We originally intended to go to the restaurant next door, but because it was closed, my mum and I decided to try Aldo’s. It seemed dirty but we entered and it was nice and clean and smelt of fresh pizza much to our surprise. Girls about my age were working and we waited about five minutes before they noticed we were there. They had just opened, so that was understandable, and were quietly chatting as well anyway My mum and I chose to share a Philly Cheesesteak Calzone and Small Fountain Drink for $ 13. We watched TV whilst waiting and began to smell the calzone cooking! We knew it was ours because we were the only ones there. I was reading reviews and was alarmed by the negative comments, but I didn’t say anything because I wanted to try the food for myself. I am a picky eater, but was pleasantly delighted. The calzone fed my mum and myself and we had to take the rest home! It was huge. My mum thought it was doughier than she’d have liked, but I thought it was really good. It was fresh, warm, and refreshing on such a cold day. I will definitely return.

Well hell! Tried this place three times. This last I went in with my family the day after Christmas. Place was empty we waited seven minutes at counter and only after me screaming for help. Pizza was dry and had to ask for some cheese on it to moisten it up. Tasted like a dry cracker. Apparently the owner is never in the store and it is run by inapt people! I’m absolutely done and will not be back.

This was my first time in this place. I paid for the order and sat down. People who came in after me got their order and mine didn’t come up. When I went to ask where it was they said they forgot. I asked. For the money back. They did. It say they were sorry or anything. This was bad customer service.

If you’re disappointed by this pizza then you must not have had a night out on the town. In the light of day these slices are lackluster but at 3am after a few drinks they’re delicious. It’s pizza kids don’t over think it. While I’ve been disappointed with single slices in the day time and amazed after a few drinks, I have also been pleasantly surprised when ordering a full pie. Singular slices are always reheated. Chomp on people.

Couldn’t even give it a try. I called for delivery and they lied about the distance. I had google maps open clearly showing my distance at 2.8 miles. the employee stated that I was four miles away and they only deliver up to three. seems ridiculous that they wouldn’t want new business, but what do I know.

If I could rate this less than 1 star, I would. My friends and I were in downtown Abq for the night and were looking for something quick near our hotel. This place smelled good as we walked by so we went in. It’s a casual atmosphere with sports on the tv, which was fine. At the counter we ordered; my friends got the combo with pizza, salad and a drink. I ordered the combo with a half sub, salad and a drink. We were asked our names for the orders and advised to have a seat. All of the tables were dirty, but since it was just pizza crumbs we just wiped a table with a napkin and sat down. When the food was ready the server called out what the food was instead of calling out our names. This was confusing because other customers had ordered the same thing. Our salads were prepackaged half frozen containers of iceberg lettuce with shriveled looking tomatoes. My friend’s pizza was so greasy that the paper plate it was served on was soaked. My sandwich was ridiculous. A three inch piece of toasted French bread with a lump of pastrami on it. That’s it. No cheese, no veggies, no dressing. When I asked the girl at the counter she told me that the sandwiches on the combos were served«basic» and didn’t come with any extras. She never offered options and when I expressed my displeasure she didn’t seem to care. I as sat there eating my meat and bread the assistant manager came over to ask how our meal was. I told him what had happened and he said that he was sorry, the server should have told me, and offered me a coupon for next time. I told him that there would not be a next time and said I wanted my money back. He told me that he wasn’t authorized and that I would have to call the owner on Monday. I called on Monday and Tuesday and was told the owner would call me back. Still waiting. Don’t go to this awful pizza place, walk another block to NY Pizza.

This is good pizza. Thin and chewy crust, plenty of cheese, and sauce with some actual flavor. While probably not the best pizza I’ve ever had, it definitely hit the spot. And, for $ 3 for a very large slice, it is budget friendly as well. As an added bonus the staff was genuinely friendly and welcoming. Will definitely be grabbing lunch here more often. Update: Downgrading to three stars. The last two times I’ve gone here for a quick slice at lunch they haven’t had slices available. And this is at noon, when you would expect to be selling a lot of slices, and should have them in stock. Both times they didn’t even have back-up pizzas in the oven and it would have been a 15 minute wait. Which defeats the purpose of having a quick slice. Very disorganized and shows lack of planning and customer service.

Well many things can go awry with a pizza place… This one takes the cake, the gold star, AND the dunce cap! So the place was dirty! They announce to everyone that they are backed up yet move without any sense of urgency, no concept of teamwork. Apparently they were all delivery drivers, poorly trained, closest thing to a leader was a veteran appearing man who came in to rotate pizzas, in his jacket without washing hands, then he made himself a sandwich and left. The pizza took FOREVER! While the two guys working spent all their time catering too and giving coupons too a group of 3 teenage girls. Giving them freebies, extras, and significant discounts… Finally the pizza comes… There is only 1 jar of crushed red pepper in the house, unused on the girls table, I’m given packets for deliveries… The pizza is awful, doughy, undercooked full of unpopped bubbles it was lackluster and disgusting. It was so sad. I loved Venezia! It was great, ALDOSISNOTVENEZIA, Needless to say we took a refund and im typing this waiting for a pizza from nypd. They announced the business of every nearby delivery, knockouts, yours was expedited quickly, but if you ordered a rectangular pepperoni to be delivered to the el rey theater… Sorry to say but it sat for 10 min was reheated and brought to you… Dont eat here. Its gross. Ill be surprised if Aldos is around long.

So 2 hours and 5 conversations later we are super disappointed! Excuse after excuse and so called«miscommunication» still took 2 deliveries to get all our food and warmish undercooked pizza. Sad that we try to eat at mom and pop businesses and we should have stuck to pizza hut!

As you open the door the air rushes at you with the smells of pizza and freshly baked breads! I love the atmosphere here it’s fun and spacious. You would not have guessed by the front door. It’s a hidden gem off the sidewalk. Large menu. Offers of take out and delivery too! You can view the pizza behind the glass as its brought it. Tough to make a single choice. Even has pasta, wings and salads!!!

Really, just don’t. Unless your hammered or you lost a bet that requires doing something gross. They do NY pizza probably about as good as New York does Carne Adovada. Stale hiurs-old slices most nights(except Fri and Sat night)… Or wait half an hour for z custom pie that you will gladly donate to the local vagabonds before willingly injesting. Hey, you’ve been warned and YMMV.

Man. I have had this pizza so many times and tonight I had the worst expierence. The first pizza the brought was the wrong toppings. I called and the guy was very apologetic. They brought the right pizza with the right toppings, but all the toppings had slid off the pizza. Just a very bad expierence. I will eat there again but maybe rethink delivery.

The pizza from this place is okay… but nothing special. It’s far from the best I’ve ever had, but not the worst. I like the fact that they are open super late. So you can stop by after a late night out downtown. Order extra marinera sauce… it’s good!

This WAS the best New York Style pizza in town until recently. Every time I call in an order, they screw up. Once, they didn’t even write down the order!!! I have also received several pizzas that are severely under cooked and VERY doughy. Am I supposed to have to cook it myself after waiting 2 hours?

Confession: I love Gordon Ramsey’s Kitchen Nightmares. They did one in Denver on a pizza place that thought it was the best in the city and the pizza that came out looked liked crap and Gordon reviewed it to be crap. Well this was my own Kitchen Nightmares. It looked like the exact same pizza on the show, and chances are it tasted worse that the one Gordon got. We ordered a large sausage pizza($ 20). They had large pizzas sitting out so you can order by the slice, so we were judging the size by that. It was weird when we got a rectangular pizza. There was so much grease and cheap mozzarella, it overwhelmed any of the other ingredients. This pizza probably weighed 5 lbs. It was horrible. The staff always appear to be stoned. I live in the neighborhood and anytime I see them outside hanging out with all the other druggies and vagrants they are always a million miles away. My face to face interactions with them aren’t any better. Not the kind of people I want near my food. Skip this place.

Shady area but if you walk fast you will make it through the doors of the pizza joint. The exterior is window wrapped so the sketchy individuals outside can not see in, but you can see out. Which could make for an interesting show. Interior is nice wood hightop tables, very clean. Crust is the best I have had so far in Albuquerque-tangy crunchy and not too thick. This is pretty close to an east coast pie. Overall very happy. We had canadian bacon and pinapple. Mozzarella sticks were tasty too. There is a coupon in this issue of the Alibi too. Deal is a large one topping for 12 $. Which goes on every Tuesday too.

I hate to give places bad reviews, I really do, but when you bring your hopes up and they get completely let down I feel like people should get to read an honest review before they go there. I had purchased a gift card from to eat at Aldo’s, and after reading pretty good reviews and looking at a good sounding menu I was stoked to try some pizza there! However, we walked from our hotel to the the restaurant and the crowd on that strip of 4th street is pretty rough. I am a young college student, and if I had not been with my family I probably wouldn’t have walked there alone… The people are scary and it seems unsafe. However, we arrive and this couple is eating on their patio and shouting at each other(not a great first impression), and we precede inside the building and are greeted by at least a half a dozen flies flying around the restaurant. I found that to be entirely nasty! Who allows flies to fly around a food area? Even if the door is open there should be no flies! I have dined at other restaurants with open doors and there were no flies. So we thought maybe we could look at the menu, but behind the counter lie a cold cheese pizza that had been laying there for potentially hours. That is so gross. I mean do something with it! Put it away or something, don’t leave it to sit there to get bad and be a health hazard. So between the arguing clientele, the filthy food areas, and the horrible atmosphere we left and ate elsewhere. I will be asking for a refund on my gift certificate.
