The Good: Long chains on bucket swings mean big fun for the little ones. Two big kid swings, also. One huge slide and climbing apparatus, apparently modeled to resemble an 18-wheeler(I counted ten), could easily host a DJ or birthday party. Two sheltered benches and a covered picnic area. Another structure I dubbed the Monkey Barn. Huge grassy area for sports of any variety. Activities for many ages. The Bad: Let’s begin with the ferrell cat that meowed and ran from the play area when it saw us approach. The inner monologue in my head, upon first enterance, went something like this: «Hmm, this is a pretty nice little park. Funny that we live so close by and this is our first visit, ever. I guess I’ve always been a little sketched out about this place. Something about the neighborhood, I guess. Maybe I need to recalibrate my expectations. It’s pretty well-maintained, after all. Looks like the city takes good care of it. Perhaps we’ll come back.» At that point a car pulled up to the curb and a young woman stepped out from the backseat, toting a bottle of Bud Light. She and her friends apparently determined that the kiddie resort would make an awesome spot for a few brews on a Tuesday, at 9:45 in the morning. The Verdict: You decide.
