What I find interesting is not this gas station. There is, in fact, nothing to distinguish it from another just up the street that sells the very same brand. They even appear to have the same prices every time I have driven past(which is not often, as I live nowhere nearby). But what is interesting is that on a generally nondescript night that saw an intense spring storm come through, that other station up the street closed up shop and went home. Why? Because the ice machine lost power. Now the intrepid staff at the Wilco Food Mart. No, they manned their post until every last person filled their tanks. Which was to say, us, as there was no one else around at 10pm on this particular night. They were all huddling in the closet since the storm was so freaking loud and they did not want to have a tree fall on them. Still, it was nice of them to stay open at such a time, even if the ice machine may or may not have had issues of its own.
