Great local place right outside of town. They have both buffet and menu… Much more than just seafood. All of the food is cooked fresh and there is a wide variety of options. Their plate portions are HUGE and prices are also very reasonable! Jay’s has a friendly staff and are more than accommodating to all of their customers. On top of that, they have a handicap accessible entrance at the back of the building.

Heard about Jay’s from a friend, Thought I’d give it a try. Sometimes on Sat. the family is gone so I go some where new. Jay’s is about an hour from the house. Jay’s is off the beaten path but that has not stopped me yet. Once inside you seat yourself. The staff was very friendly, spotting the buffet no menu was needed. I did ask for a to go menu when leaving but the cashier told me they where out, so I could not see the other item’s they offer. The buffet had popcorn shrimp, white fish with a cornmeal breading, and baby flounder, hush puppies plus fries, and baked potatoes. A second bar had fried chicken, mac&cheese, mashed potatoes, chicken livers which where a bit dry. Two kinds of slaw, chicken&dumplings, which where not bad, country ham and small biscuits an several other Items plus a salad bar. My only complaint was I prefer the tarter sauce and cocktail sauce to be on the table not on the buffet. My shrimp was good, the white fish and baby flounder just fine. The waiter kept my glass full and I noticed all of the wait staff was very nice to every table of guest sitting around me. Buffet and drink 11.00 not bad, left with a belly full. Old style décor, wooden tables mom&pop place for sure. BUT I will return, my kind of place. Take cash. Just a note, I went back two weeks later, got there about 6;30 place was some kind of crowded! Food was very good, This time every thing was fresh. Also I got a to go menu. It does not matter if you order off the menu or buffet it all seems to be around $ 11.00 for food & drink. There’s a child’s menu plus a broiled menu. Hope I make it back real soon.

Excellant down home cooking and hospitality. Worth the drive to the outskirts of town.

Down-home, stick-to-your-ribs, Southern food! The Sunday buffet is phenomenal! Servers are on the spot with refills! What really makes it is that everyone – staff and other patrons – are super friendly! Just don’t go between 1 and 2 p.m. on a Sunday. That«after church crowd» is right surly, probably because their blood sugars are so low. I tell ya, it’s like feeding time at the zoo. People are jostling and butting into each other, it’s rude and sad. It ain’t fancy, but it’s feel good place that won’t hurt your wallet! Sunday Noon buffet with tax and drink cost me $ 11!

Great fish camp style restaurant with buffet. Old building, but clean with friendly staff. Buffet has great selection with salad bar, seafood, chicken, and dessert. Less expensive than other seafood restaurants in the area.
