We stopped by this place on our way back to New York — it turned out to be a gem in this dull neighborhood. The place was very nice, simple and clean. We ordered spicy wontons, spicy diced chicken noodle soup and steamed rice with chicken and chinese sausage. Food came out quickly, the wontons were amazing, very hot, juicy and well-seasoned. They are the best wontons we had so far ! Spicy chicken noodle soup was very good, broth is very spicy and flavor — my husband loved it. Steamed rice with chicken was just ok, chicken was great but there was too much rice and the dish was a bit plain in my opinion. Definitely would come back if we are in town.

Me being adventurous. I said«let me try something new»…Wasn’t feeling it. For one, I asked for lo mein and the shit came out dry as hell! N cold. I asked over and over for my garlic wings to be made crispy. I don’t think they understand English. He stressed to me this was Taiwan cuisine and not Chinese. I said ok… I will never go back. How do you mess up lo mein. Shit my niece can make it better than that. I’m being nice giving 3 stars because I feel like maybe Their food was good N not just for me.

Authentic Chinese food, quick and delicious. Mapo tofu was among the best we’ve had; fish in curry was very good; fried pork chop appetizer was well seasoned and more than enough for two. The interior is simple and clean, reminiscent of places we’ve visited in Taiwan. We’ll be back.

Good solid noodle house. They have a special of I believe three for $ 30. Flavors are good and the dishes are solid. The curry chicken is especially good. It doesn’t work to ask for any modification to the dish. ANY. Authentic Chinese.

My first Dim Sum experience in Albany. Several places do dim sum, but many of them have limited hours. Taiwan Noodle has a short menu of dim sum items that are available all day. We had the pork buns, spring rolls, fried won tons, shrimp dumplings, and shrimp shiu mai, Everything was delicious! The pork buns were great, but I would’ve liked them even better if there was just a touch more seasoning, but a little soy sauce took those concerns away. The lemon honey tea was very very sweet, almost too sweet! The weather was very cold and the warm tea felt very good going down. Service was quick and friendly. There are plenty of tables. It’s a casual, comfortable ambience. We live out in the boonies, but when we get a chance, we love to hit up restaurants downtown, and we’ll add Taiwan Noodle to the list!

Food — Bland, no flavor, no creativity, cheap $ Restaurant — clean, easy to find, open during major holidays We ordered the spicy wontons 5*(recommend) but after that everything went downhill. Pork chop Noodle Soup — entire dish was extremely bland and had no flavor. Had to order hot sauce just to finish it. Pork Loaf w/Chinese Sausage — it’s just plain white rice with some minced pork patty and 1 sausage(sweet). Nothing special absolutely no flavor had to order hot oil and hot sauce just to eat half and threw the rest. Overall I would not return. We did not try the dimsum however so that may be worth trying. Total bill $ 27.00 w/tip(2 people)

This place is the best place in town for soup! Great stock makes very tasty soup and the sevice is very good, the appetizers and good and it has it’s own free parking lot next door so don’t let the fact that it is on Central Ave stand in the way of going there…

Taiwan Noodle is excellent! The atmosphere is nice, the dining room is clean, and the servers are always attentive! Best of all, the food is authentic and delicious! Haven’t had a dish I didn’t like. My personal favorites are the soup dumplings(which can be hard to find in upstate NY) and the stewed beef noodle soup, which is their specialty! Overall, a must try! 6 stars for Taiwan noodle!

Great food, low prices ;0 The food was great! I had sesame chicken with Taiwanese lo mein and pork dumplings. The food was fresh and tasty, and came with plentiful portions. They did bring the entrees and appetizers over at the same time(a personal pet peeve) but it didn’t detract from the experience. The check was only $ 25 for two people and we both got an entrée/appetizer.

Great won tons and spicy chicken soup with rice noodles! They warned me that it was spicy but I didn’t think it was spicy really. Delicious! Quick friendly service and clean little restaurant.

Top notch place for dim sum and noddles. I have yet to order something I did not love, even the pig ears — they are crunchy. All the soups are big and full of meat and flavor. You can’t even go wrong, but the beef brisket one is my favorite. They have great noddle soups as well. Really you can put this place in NYC, Boston, San Francisco and it would still be a top notch place. Service is quick, honest. If you ask if you are ordering too much, they will tell you. I have asked the server to just pick for me and that is currently my favorite option in choosing new things.

This place blew me right out the soup bowl. Not only is the soup amazing, but so are the apps. We as always start out with the wood ear and cabbage. Of course we cannot shy away from the dim sum. Everything is fresh and excellent. The soup takes the experience to a different level. If you want more broth? They will give it to you. If you want extra bok choy? No problem. The service is impeccable and the soup is fabulous. The prices are more than reasonable, and they have off street parking. Worth the visit! Check it out!

I really wanted to like this place more than I did. Maybe it was the fact that I was in the restaurant alone, and seated near the back where all I could really smell was cleaning supplies. On the plus side, I did like the scallion pancake and the pigs ears, and the noodle bowl was fine. I also like that there is parking. I’ll try them again next time and maybe order differently, and ask to sit someplace else!

I gave 4* as an average. 5* for their dim sum varieties and bubble tea varieties and 3* for their other food. But very good service and a clean place. Our table ordered General Tso’s chicken over lo mein(just ok), spicy pork over lo mein(tasty and very spicy), stewed beef chuck noodle soup(was just ok unlike the raved reviews) and their house style noodle soup(ok). The portions are pretty big.

Awesome noodle joint on a run down street in Albany that serves tons of bowl options with or without broth. I ordered the spicy diced pork with lo-mein noodles(no broth) and it was SOGOOD. The small pieces of pork are placed on noodles with baby bok choy, a hard boiled egg and is topped with a thick spicy brown sauce. Just as a warning, the sauce was VERY spicy, but it had many layers of flavors that made the noodles that more delicious. My friends and I also split the spicy wontons, which are basically dumplings in soy sauce and pepper flakes. I highly recommend this as an appetizer. This place also has a great variety of other Chinese dishes if noodles are not your thang. FYI there is small parking lot on the side of the building.

For my upstate Taiwanese style food cravings I goto Taiwan Noodle. They not only serve a variety of dim sum(I’d eat that any time of day) but also have many appetizing options for starters including 5 spice pork ear, stewed pork belly, tofu with meat floss, and stewed pig feet. Those are just a few things I’ve tried, but for those who want to expand your palate and acquire the taste of unique flavors, I’d be ready to open up to the rest of the menu. If you want noodles, you’ll get A+ noodles. I was told they made hand pulled noodles for their noodle soups although you could choose vermicelli or chow fun instead. The stewed pork belly, fried pork chop, and stewed beef chuck noodle soups are the cream of the crop. If you want rice, you’ll get A+ rice. They serve over-rice dishes, baked rice dishes, and steamed rice in bamboo baskets(something you won’t get to easily try here upstate). There’s also your typical Chinese for dinner(only $ 10) served with soup and rice. As for the dessert options I did not find anything that sparked my interest but it might be worth a shot. Taiwan Noodle also has a ‘bubble’ tea menu for all you ‘boba’ needs. I usually like to get the cold soy milk but the hot soy milk is also available for those who like to keep warm(I think that’s actually more popular in local spots for breakfast in Taiwan!) All this for a small price … as a majority of the dishes are less than 10 bucks. They also have a small private parking lot on the right of the building which makes it convenient. The only things that are missing are the Taiwanese oyster omelette, the 5 spice minced pork rice bowl and better scallion pancakes(which I love). So until they have those available I’ll hold onto that last star.

Unique and tasty. Had a good lunch here today. Trusting other Unilocalers I chose the Spicy Wontons and Stewed Chuck Beef Noodle Soup. This is definitely home cooked food, and from a cuisine I’m not very experienced with. The menu reflects many dishes I know from Chinese cuisine, but if the plates I ordered are an indication, the cuisine is a little more clean and simple. I could have used more spice in my Spicy Wontons, and a little more seasoning– even just a little soy sauce. The filling was a very clean and herby pork mixture. Even after requesting more chili, I was a little disappointed, because I think the delicious filling called for enhancement. This is all encased in an admirably thin wonton wrapper that definitely enhanced the filling by staying out of the way. There were two delicious elements in the stewed noodle dish. The star of the dish was the savory chunks of chuck that were perfectly braised and loaded with flavor. The baby bok choy that accompanied the dish were perfectly steamed and tasted very fresh. I wanted more flavor in the broth, and my traditional egg noodles were overcooked, though. The environment is simple, almost stark, but clean and welcoming. The one staff person I interacted with was friendly and efficient. They have their own parking lot– or there is street parking. I plan to return, to explore dishes that are less known to me. I seem to think the restaurant has more to offer than my first visit revealed.

Is it possible for these guys to get any better? Such great service. The staff here remembers me, my preferences and always make me feel warm and welcomed. The food has been incredible and consistent. There is no better spot in the 518 for dim sum in my mind. The noodle soup is amazing and the broth has wonderful flavor, so much so I get just broth on the side at times. The space is always super clean and the design is modern. I take friends from out of town here frequently. Its a top pick for great eats in the area and would sit in my top 5 recommendations for the capital district. Consistently attentive and friendly service, top notch dim sum and noodle soup and value driven price point make Taiwan Noodle not only a favorite, but a no brainer. Can’t wait for my next visit.

One of few Taiwanese places here in Albany. The food is alright(their beef noodle soup was a little disappointing, though), but their pearl milk tea is pretty good. I believe they also offer shaved ice during the summer, but I have yet to try it. It’s a shame they don’t deliver!

After seeing all the reviews for this place I have been dying to try it and it did not disappoint! On a Friday night we were immediately seated. Our waiter was very astute, he recognized that I was a novice at ordering from the menu and steered me towards a different dish. We started with the spicy pork wontons which were delicious although not as spicy as I was craving. The steamed pork dumplings were an explosion of flavor and heat. Amazing! I ordered the spicy chicken noodle soup which lived up to its name and blew my sinuses wide open. My husband ordered the sesame chicken with noodles. The sauce was excellent and everything I expected it to be. Overall impression: fantastic service, legit Taiwanese food, very affordable.
