I’m a fan of Red Square. I’ve been about 4 times for shows. Although the room where the band performs is a little small, it’s a great — almost comfortable small. The drinks are fairly priced. I had an issue with a fellow bar go-er the last time I was at Red Square and the staff at the bar was very attentive and understanding to the situation. I’ll definitely be going back.

I want to love Red Square, I really do. It’s a great space in a nice building and even on weekends, there’s usually street parking to be found. I’ve seen several shows here — both music and variety — and always enjoyed myself. I’d come here more often if they added some other types of bands as it tends to mainly be jam band-inspired stuff. I’m not knocking it — it’s just not my bag. Two years ago, I came for their New Year’s celebration and it was a lot of fun. There was a buffet, free bottles of champagne for every group, a live band and party favors — all for $ 12. But it kind of seems like it’s started to go downhill. I know it changed ownership about a year ago and I’m not sure whether that’s to blame or not. The scheduling seems disorganized and one of the bartenders recently accused my boyfriend of trying to scam money out of her. He wasn’t. He was there to see our friends play(in fact, he was recording them) and gave the woman a $ 20 for his beer. She gave him change as if he’d handed her a $ 10. When he tried to point it out to her, she got mad and called a bouncer to throw him out. Bad vibes, man. I’d also like if they added to their wine selection, as the front room would be a great place to come have a couple of glasses of wine with a friend. I
