Planet Beach

Although I came here on a whim (and at risk of sounding a little dramatic), having found this place might be life-​changing for me! I’ve been dealing with chronic aches and fatigue for over 20 years and was finally diagnosed a few months ago with Hashimoto’s thyroiditis. Despite taking good care of myself and being treated for it, the achiness and fatigue continued. After just one treatment in the infrared sauna and red light therapy bed, I felt my mood and energy lift significantly. My muscles also felt very relaxed, and the stiffness and achiness greatly reduced. It seemed both too good to be true and probably a placebo effect. Being a research type, I went home and scoured the medical databases. There is actually good data behind why these therapies were so helpful to me. I was completely floored. I signed up for a month and can’t wait to see how much better I feel after a few more weeks of going regularly.
A huge bonus is that Nikki, the manager, is a doll and a half. She was extremely kind and helpful, and she laughed at all my corny jokes. If you’re thinking about trying Planet Beach, stop thinking and just do it. You can go in free and try whatever you like before making any commitment. There’s nothing to lose, and if my experience is any indication, everything to gain.

Great staff, clean store, awesome products and services. Spray tans are a healthy alternative to tanning! Can’t wait to try more services…

I am not necessarily a «spa» person but this place may have changed my mind. Great experience, and extremely clean, with the most welcoming staff ever. A must visit when in the area.

The staff are incredible! They always make me feel so welcome and special. They really are a terrific bunch. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else for my tanning needs. I don’t feel like they are anymore expensive than other places. Plus, I’ll pay a little extra for great customer service. My only complaint is the size of the store. It’s pretty tiny. But other than that, I highly recommend Planet Beach.

Today I got a mystic spray tan from Planet Beach Guilderland and it was the best I’ve ever had. I was skeptical because I’ve had my share of spray tan fails at other salons, but PB has made it literally «me-​proof.» I go inside the automated booth and it tells me everything I need to do like when to move and where to put my feet and hands. After the spray is applied, it dries my whole body. My clothes don’t get dirty at all. The spa consultant gave me a complimentary UV tanning session prior to the mystic and called it the Glow Cocktail… I highly recommend it. My boyfriend loved the results. ;-)

I really love this place! Hydration bed, tanning, massage bed, and more… Just a little pricey but definitely worth it. Only thing they could probably work on is expanding the place since it’s so small. And getting a new aqua massage bed since the bed was leaking. Other than that, it’s a great place for people who want to relax for a little and work on themselves.

This was my first time at Planet Beach as I was in town visiting for work. I thought the prices were reasonable and the beds were very high end. The spa person took the time to go over all my options. I don’t tan often, but i highly recommend Planet Beach.

Yuck… I got a session as a Christmas gift! If you enjoy heat, no human contact, machines that bind and smother you, then this is the experience for you. Even my 25 year old daughter thought «it was a waste of 2+ hours of life.» Thanks for the thought hubby, but a regular massage is a treat… machines…no thanks. The girl who runs the place is wonderful!

Granting my tanning, I’m now more than enchanting!
This location is OPEN on SUNDAYs, near Crossgates Mall, has reasonable prices and is super clean inside.
