Really delicious triangles! My family’s favorite are the short rib and unagi.

I passed by this place a few times but I recently tried it for the first time. it’s a great deal with the purchase of their current Groupon deal. I honestly didn’t expect to get full from this place but I left as a happy and satisfied customer. The service was also really nice — the cashier was really friendly. I tried the spicy shrimp, spicy pork, and tuna aioli onigiri. I think my favorite is probably the spicy shrimp but the spicy pork was also really tasty. The tuna was slightly too creamy for me, but it wasn’t bad. Overall, really enjoyed the food and will definitely return soon.

Found this lovely little gem on Solano through Groupon! Great friendly efficient service at the counter. The food is delicious. Brown rice nori sandwiches with lovely creative fillings! Ladders are also available. Come check it out don’t be surprised if you find a line out the door!

We were a bit hesitant to try this restaurant because of the Groupon coupons but was incredibly and happily surprised. We particularly liked the shortrib plate, the short rib, teriyaki chicken and the unagi triangles. My favorite is the chicken triangles. The spicy tofu, ume, crab, tuna and salmon were ok. Will try more plate options too in the future. Greeted by friendly, patient staff while we newbies were trying to figure out what we wanted. Service fast. Food yummy. Wish I knew about the student discount. No groupon can cover when the boys tag along. Considered downgrading to 4 stars. Décor could use a little work. Paper cups so small but maybe ok during drought. Great food. Will definitely go back regularly.

Just checked this place out with my wife. This place rocks. Highly recommend spicy pork! Also if you want to have a serious meal. Please consider trying a rice plate.

Overpriced and underwhelming fusion food. My rice was mushy, not seasoned, and of poor quality! The ingredients are below mediocre and do not reflect the price, perhaps the price you pay is for the branding and the location? Similar products are to be had with better ingredients and prepped with respect for those taste, for half the price at more authentic onigiri spots! Staff work haphazardly to assemble orders, not really attentive to the customer service side, which is just too bad. Go here if you like to believe hype — because that is what you are paying for.

The rice triangles a.k.a. onigiri here are fantastic. So many interesting options to choose from — spicy shrimp, spicy pork, bbq short rib are just a few that are my favorite in order! For ~3 bucks each, they can’t go wrong. The rice plates are perfect if you don’t like your rice and meat wrapped in a triangle shape in seaweed. I’m disappointed though that they cut down on the portion for those drastically since the last time I came here(about a month ago). And with the groupon deal, it is EVENMORE worth it!

This is our go-to place when we just can’t deal with cooking ourselves. $ 10 per person for delicious, fresh food. My favorites are the spicy shrimp, tuna aioli and the chicken teriyaki. Bonus for biodegradable take-out containers!

YUMMMYYY! Been here twice and have been craving it for awhile now. I love that I can get some good quality, protein packed rice triangles without it being from the supermarket fridge section! There’s a good variety of rice triangles to choose from and if you get the combo then you get to try more out. At first we thought we could share a combo between the two of us– esp cuz it seemed a bit pricey but omggg every single one was soooo good! Mos def worth it! We ordered a second combo to get full which was fine with us because our favorite was the double unagi!!! =D You would prob have to order more rice triangle if you have a bigger appetite as these things can be guzzled down so fast and easily — they are that scrumptious.

I’ve always passed by this place going to do my laundry up the street. Yesterday, I decided to give it a try. It is a small place. I went with 2 beef and 1 chicken. The triangles are seaweed wrapped with rice and what filling you choose. I believe each wrap is closely priced, but different. I think beef was $ 3 something and chicken was $ 2 something. Made quickly and the people were friendly.

We came in on a Saturday afternoon around 3PM& there were a few other customers there who had already placed their orders. We walked up to the counter & placed our order. I decided to just ask for one of each of the rice triangles that had meat in them since I didn’t know what I’d like. I ended up liking the unagi(no surprise there) & tuna aoli most out of the eight choices. The others were good too, just not my personal favorites. At around $ 3 – 4 each, you’ll have to buy maybe three or four to get full off of them & that’s for someone my size. If you’re a grown man, maybe a whole lot more… All-in-all, food was good, but value wise – not really. The location is pretty easy to find & there’s a few parking stalls right out front. The place consists of a few seats inside & a table outside, but it was freezing when we were there so we sat inside. I’ll definitely come back if I find myself craving one of those rice triangles.

Onigiris… Yum. Rice triangles wrapped in seaweed with a variety of protein(and vegetarian) options. Each triangle costs around $ 3 and buying 3 triangles also gets you a little side of edamame and ginger for free. I do like that there’s not so much rice. Many places overstuff the origini with rice in order to fill you up. That being said, the small size of these means you probably need at least 3 triangles for it to be filling. Try the short rib or unagi!

My favorite place to get a quick bite to eat. I’ve only tried their tuna and shrimp but both were decent. The tuna they have is like canned tuna not the poke type. If you order three they give you edamame with your order. I feel like they should make one with spam just so I can have a guilty indulgence.

This place basically serves gourmet onigiris. But gourmet in food and not in price! I tried the tuna and salmon one and stole a piece of the beef from my boyfriend. They all tasted amazing! The rice to protein ratio here is amazing. They make it so nice and it smells so delicious whether you eat them warm or cold. On top of everything, the best thing is the pricing. Each is priced around $ 2 to $ 3 which is just a little more than the ones you find premade at a Japanese market. And they cook it here for you!!! Order 3 or more and you get a free side of edamame and ginger. I ended up ordering 7 and spent around $ 23. Definitely give this place a try if you’re in the area for some delicious and fast bites!

So much better than those pre-made ones you get at the Berkeley Bowl! These have a generous filling to rice ratio, rice is cooked and seasoned perfectly, and choice of fillings is very good. I had the unagi and the spicy shrimp and both were delicious. Honestly it was difficult to choose, so I will have to go back soon. Staff is cheerful and friendly, and orders come out very quickly so they were doing a strong take out business while I was there. The space is pretty small, but the also have a couple of tables out front. Definitely worth a stop in on your next lunch break!

This place is a great, I usually get the chicken or pork rice plate. It’s a good amount of food for the price! They give you a side of edamame and some pickled ginger. The beef is pretty salty IMO. The rice triangles are pretty small, almost like an appetizer. so if you’re hungry you’ll need like 5 – 6 of them. I ordered the Tuna once thinking it was raw tuna, but it turns out it’s actually canned tuna. So unless you want canned tuna, don’t make the same mistake I did. There’s very limited seating, but it’s never packed. I usually get it to go since I live 5 minutes away. Parking isn’t an issue as there’s usually somewhere to park. When they first opened, they had a Unilocal check in deal for 10% off after 6pm… wish they didn’t get rid of that. All and all i recommend this place if you’re just looking for take out at a reasonable price.

PRO + tasty short ribs rice triangle + discounts for students/seniors($ 2.50 a triangle from 11AM-4PM M-F) and 15% off rice triangle with Unilocal check-in(we unfortunately did not get any of the discounts because wrong time/forgot to check in first) + rice triangles made-to-order, thus, hot and fresh! + rice triangles came quickly + good amount of meat for price + self-serve complimentary hot tea and water on counter CON — skimpy on rice, which caused our teriyaki chicken rice triangle to fall apart when picked up — this is partially my fault for not checking in Unilocal first before ordering but the male cashier(Ckim) didn’t tell my sister and I and the family behind us about the Unilocal discount, however, he did tell this other group about it before they order(questionable selective service :/)

This place caught my eye — I love onigiri! If this place was around back when I attended Albany high, I’d be splitting going here and to Gordo for lunch. I went in and got a salmon rice triangle as a snack. Usually rice triangle is seaweed, lots of rice, a small amount of filling(think asian market ones). Oori stuffs them so there’s a muuuuch better stuffing to rice ratio. There were several pieces of salmon, with some teriyaki/teriyaki-like sauce and green onions. For $ 3.15($ 3.47 after tax), it was a great deal for the amount of salmon it came with. I was impressed. They have other flavors, cooked– short rib, chicken teriyaki, pickled plum, plain rice, and more. They have plates too, if you don’t prefer the rice triangles. Service was super fast too. I got mine to go within a few minutes. Quick and tasty– my kind of place. It would be great if they had a customization feature, and they’ll probably customize it for you, such as if you want a salmon pickled plum rice triangle. If they decide to add more to their menu, some raw salmon or even a California roll type rice triangle/ball would be great. I’d pay a dollar more to get salmon sashimi in my rice triangle! I’d definitely come back(if quality is as good) the next time I visit my folks in the bay.

What I ate: tuna, spicy shrimp, and tofu rice triangles Visit date: July 8, 2015 First time? Yes. I arrived a few minutes before they officially opened for the day and they let me put my order in. And then it came out super quick! I ordered the tuna, spicy shrimp, and tofu rice triangles. The shrimp was my favorite, but really if you put the spicy sauce on just rice I would probably call that my favorite too. The spice was just right and you could still taste the shrimp flavor. The texture of the shrimp was that of shrimp cocktail shrimp; a little springy. The tofu was my second favorite. The tofu is cut into the cutest little tofu cubes(they literally made me go «aww…»). They were packed with sweet and salty flavor. The tuna was my least favorite just because it had a smooshy texture. In all three the rice was well seasoned and the seaweed wrapper was easily bitable(I dislike it when I can’t even bite through the seaweed.) This was my first time eating a rice triangle in general. They can get messy. I definitely had to eat mine with utensils. I shall return to try their other fillings!

Good concept! Super popular among the school aged kids cus when I came here the line was out the door with high schoolers on their lunch break. I tried the short rib and unagi triangles and both were good, meat is flavorful! I also ordered a short rib plate to go and must say, I really enjoyed it and it was a good portion for ~$ 10. Considering that if you go to a Korean restaurant a plate of short ribs are like $ 25! Everything is made up of basically the same ingredients so there’s not really any way to mess that up. Just very basic but very tasty choices. Inside seating is limited but mostly clean and organized. You get your food blazing fast too, that’s a plus. I will be back and I’ll probably get the 3 meat rice plate they offer as a special for $ 10.
