I have never sat down and eaten here so I can’t comment on anything but the food and how accommodating the staff are. I love to get take-out from here for lunch and it’s always ready right when they say it will be and I’ve never had a single error. The food is very good and I definitely recommend trying their spinach cream quesadilla or spinach cream burrito. The staff is also super nice if you need a substitution. They have never given me any issues and I’ve definitely had quite a few changes at some points. No, this place isn’t super fancy but it’s good food and good service.

Terrible food all the way through. Not authentic at all. Margaritas were premixed and not fresh. Place was sticky and dirty all round. Won’t be back

At first I was going to give this place 3 stars, then I found 2HUGE problems. The food was OK but it was very very loud. It sounded like there is a night club downstairs. The entire floor was shaking with every beat of the bass line of the music. It sounded like a bad Mexican band was practicing. 2nd and even MORE importantly… The morning after! The morning after was miserable trip after trip to the bathroom for both my wife and I! You may be thinking, «how do you know it was this food and not what else you ate through the day?» Well that day I only had 2 meals, one home cooked family meet I made and then LaFiesta I will never return

Absolutely disgusting. If your in town for cheap booze. This is the joint. If you want mexican cuisine go some place else. Aside from the owner, there is nothing authentically Mexican here. Heinz gravy on a chimichanga that literally had me sick an hour after I ate. Frozen tortillas and packaged rice. The price wasn’t bad compared, however considering the food and getting sick. Not worth the chance

I LOVE this place. Their salsa is literally SO delicious. I usually get the Tacos al Alambre, chicken, chorizo and bacon, with a side of spicy sauce. It comes with a side of vegetable rice and refried beans. Their food is really good, I like the atmosphere and the service is great. Servers are very friendly, they check up on you enough. One of my favorite restaurants in the Albany area.

Wow! I don’t know why I hear negative reviews about this place. I wanted to check this place out, so i went in for some appetizers. The food was really good, service was excellent. I ordered the Botana and Taco Al Carbon. The portions were just right, everything was cooked right esp the steak. I definitely recommend La Fiesta, I know I’ll be going back for dinner soon.

La Fiesta definitely has that traditional Mexican restaurant feel to it. I have been 3 times and am a fan! I love their chimichangas and there is always enough to bring home leftovers. Plus they give you bottomless warm chips and salsa, cant go wrong with that!

We love this place. The food is always delicious and reliable — we’ve never had a bad meal. The service is very nice. The waiter, Dan, always greets us when we come in as if we’ve known him for years. We don’t come as often as we’d like, perhaps once a month or so, but he always remembers us and often guesses our orders right. I order the Border Americana which never fails to put a smile on my face, especially after cheese nachos and a well mixed drink. Service is fast, Food is good. Music is peppy. Folks are friendly. This will continue to be a beloved regular dinner spot for us.

Excellent Mexican food! Ordered takeout and it was delicious! Portions were same as if we came in and sat down for our meal. Just wish nutrition was on the menu!

Bottom line — the food was okay. It was nothing special. I got shredded chicken chimichangas and a beef taco. They didn’t ask if I wanted them soft or fried and I forgot to specify so they came out fried, which I’m not a huge fan of it. There wasn’t much of a flavor to the chicken, which most places marinate them in peppers and onions. Same story with the beef taco; there just wasn’t much of a taste to the beef. No special seasoning or anything that made it stand out. They had Yuengling on top which is always a huge plus for me. When I got my bill, they charged me 1.00 for the taco as a promotion for«Taco Day». I told the waitress if I would have known, I would have gotten tacos. She said she would have told me if I had ordered tacos. How does that make sense? You should tell me there is a special today before I order. I travel through this area a lot but I probably won’t be back here. Oh, and prices were much higher than most Mexican places. My chimichangas, beef taco, and a 22oz draft was 19.97 + tip. For one person!

Flavorful food, inexpensive, good service. The draught list could be a bit better, though. I see a lot of reviews negatively impacted by the fact that there aren’t a ton of options for«good» or «authentic» Mexican food in the Albany area. Why take it out on La Fiesta? Giving them a low rating and complaining there’s no good Mexican food around here is like buying a Honda and complaining there aren’t enough Ferrari dealerships around.

The negative reviews really surprised me. I’ve been to Salsa Latina and the La Fiesta in Albany(which is a complete different company) and never went to them again after coming here. I think the prices are great for the huge portions you receive, and the food is always good whether you come in the middle of the week or on a weekend.

Worst mexican food I have ever eaten. I would rather eat at taco bell. Food was poorly seasoned. If you want extra of anything you need to pay for it. The service was a lot to be desired as well.

I’ve only been here twice and have left in complete disappointment both times. The only reason I went back a second time was for a friend’s birthday, and this was her choice. I’m pretty sure they’re either using American cheese in all their dishes or some sort of offshoot of it. The first time I got a quesadilla and the cheese was awful. It tasted like a grilled cheese my mom could’ve made me at home for under $ 1. Second time I got a chimichanga, which also tasted like it had a nice big slab of American cheese in the middle. Not«authentic» and not worth my time. El Mariachi is the reigning champion for Albany in my book. I gave it an extra star because the waiters were all very friendly.

I have been to this location several times. It was the former Ponchos. The Queso is a keeper or the special meat Queso very good. There are issues with the bar and happy hour specials. I generally order a combo, the beans and rice are always deliciously. Their concept of burritos, are unique, not anything like bombers burritos. The kitchen consistently serves hot food. Friends enjoyed the soups.

Great Mexican, if you don’t know what Mexican is suppose to taste like. If you do happen to know what good Mexican food is, I’ll save you some time, go somewhere else.

Updating my last review — the owner reached out to me apologizing and offering me a free lunch to give them another chance. He was very kind, but I don’t usually get to that area. Additionally, I came here for lunch with my coworkers and had a decent lunch. The portions are large. The waitress got our giant order right. The food wasn’t bad but wasn’t great either. I wish there was good Mexican in Albany! Blargggg

In general good Mexican food. One thing worth mentioning is the tortilla chips there, they are homemade and really good(4 star for the tortilla chips). La Fiesta serves food in big portions too, so I can enjoy left-overs at home.

‘Meh, I’ve experienced better’ sums it up nicely. Granted I only came to La Fiesta once, but that was all I needed. The complimentary salsa and chips may have been the best part. The waitress looked like a deer in headlights while she took our order and we were pretty sure she’d screw something up. Sure enough, she didn’t bring the waters we asked for and messed up two dishes.(Why not write it down?) When we reminded her about the waters and pointed out that two of the orders were wrong, she fixed her mistakes fairly promptly, but with no apology and no acknowledgement that we had asked previously. I’m not looking for perfection, but a simple apology is Customer Service 101. The margarita was so-so. The chicken soup had great flavor but it was barely warm. Two of the four entrees served to our table were also not hot. The fajitas were served hot; they were tasty with generous portions and fixings. The burrito was bland and room temperature. So yeah, they have some significant kinks to work out here. In the meantime, I’ll be going elsewhere for Mexican. Lukewarm food isn’t really my thing.
