Best Breakfast sandwiches in Down Town Albany, i Work near eggy’s and go there almost everyday. Also lunch is great the fried fish and chips his huge, good for two people that dont eat much. And eggy himself is a funny guy always has some cool stories to tell early in the morning when he is not busy.

Great food truck. Have had a few egg sandwiches from friends bringing them into work, etc. Those always have been great. Never been there till today. Tried the pulled pork. The homemade coleslaw is excellent. Reminded me of my time down in Arkansas. Solid effort coming out of a food truck. Will go again. And again.

Went to Eggy’s after reading such great reviews. It did not disappoint! For such a simple thing, the sausage, egg & cheese was delicious. The egg was cooked perfectly & very well seasoned. The sandwich as a whole wasn’t too salty either. The owner was super friendly & also attentive, being sure to stick his head out & make sure we were enjoying everything & didn’t need anything. A really good, CHEAP way to start the day!

To celebrate my first day as part of the Unilocal Elite squad, I decided a trip to the warehouse district in downtown Albany was in order. Because I had a bit of a headache from last night, I decided a good egg sandwich and coffee was in order. So I put on my sunglasses and jumped in the convertible to make the trip. That part of Albany is best experienced from a drop top. Anyway, I pulled up and as soon as I got out, I heard the whistling of a working man. Walked up to the window of this unassuming food truck, and I ordered up. And as you should do, I got the egg sandwich and coffee special with bacon. Nothing makes a wait for your food better than engaging conversation. Eggy sees the hat and clothing I am wearing, and a great conversation ensues. I will spare the details, as it was a bit salty in spots, but good conversation, nonetheless. He admires the fact that I drink my coffee black. He hits all the right notes when it comes to customer service. Quite a character, and enjoyable to talk to. After our conversation, I take my sandwich and coffee, and head for the car. His parting advice to me was to «Keep the powder dry!», which is sage and wise advice offered to me(based on my attire). The sandwich itself? I would call this a mic drop. Bacon egg and cheese isn’t hard to do. But to do it well is quite an achievement. And Eggy does it well. Double egg. Bacon crispy. White American. Grilled hardroll. The thing that drives this over the top is the grilled flavor. This sandwich was over the top tasty. Five stars here for the overall experience of this breakfast. Simple joint in an unassuming part of town. Great service and conversation. Good coffee. Great sandwich. What’s not to like? Eggy’s has been put in my rotation of great spots to get a good breakfast. It should be in yours too.

I just picked up a bunch of sandwiches for my family for breakfast. It took about 4 minutes to get 7 freshly made sandwiches that were well worth $ 4 each. There was about double the bacon most places give you, and it was all perfectly cooked. So good. We will definitely be back, and you should definitely go get yourself a BEC.

Eggy’s Place is not the«small business» politicians love to talk about, in other words it’s not a multinational corporation. Eggy’s Place is one man in a food truck parked in the middle of nowhere on Erie Blvd down the street from Huck Finns off 787. He is a friendly chatty guy who brings good vibes. He sells piping hot griddle food. You can get in and out real fast, and if you’re really in a rush just phone in your order. He does a whole lunch menu and is not just an egg and cheese. The Bottom Line: quick, greasy, cheap,

I love me a good egg sandwich. I love my egg sandwiches on a hard roll. And even though you’ll usually get a processed sausage patty, I love mine with sausage. Actually, I prefer the processed patties. But at Eggy’s you don’t just get an egg sandwich, you get engaging conversation, with a charming, and interesting character. It was a hoot to banter back and forth with him as he made my sandwich. He seasons the crap out of the eggs. I tasted lots of salt and pepper(which is the way it should be). Any respectable egg sandwich is made with american cheese. The american cheese on mine was hot and gooey. The hard roll was buttered and toasted to a slightly crunchy goodness. And the processed sausage patty was just as you’d expect; salty, lightly spiced, and toothsome. Eggy makes a mean egg sandwich. It’s good enough that I’d be willing to suffer through busy downtown rush hour traffic to have one any day. The fact that he’s doing it out of a tiny, dumpy looking shack in the warehouse district only adds to the charm of it.

When I worked in Albany I use to stop here for breakfast and or lunch and the food was ALWAYS exceptional. Best way I can describe it would be to say it’s just like home the way mom would have cooked it but better. The owner operator is friendly and runs a tight ship and great conversation when things are slow. Highly recommend and just an added plus the prices are more then reasonable for the proportion of food served.

After reading Daniel Berman’s review last night, I came first thing in the in the morning. I may have even been the first customer. The owner was indeed a personality, as he greeted me with a «what’s up boss?» and told me he had a sandwich already cooking for me when he heard me pull up, this was my first time here. My «eggwich» and coffee was served in less than two minutes along with«a nice soft napkin, not like that brown sh*t that rips your face apart.» For what it is, this is perfect. A quick, simple, delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on a hardroll and a coffee for less than a 5 spot. Exactly what I needed this morning, after a long night of work and before it begins again.

Is it across the street from a methadone clinic? Yeah. But are the bacon, egg and cheese sandwiches legit? Totally. This has to be a contender for one of the best BEC in the region. I know that’s a big claim. But the guy manning the grill told me that he used to be the guy behind breakfast at Quintessence. The original Quintessence. Not it’s gussied up second life. And this guy, who goes by the name of Eggy, puts a lot of heart into what he does. This truck isn’t exactly a mobile operation. Eggy pays rent on the land, and he runs an electric line so you don’t hear the drone of a generator while you eat your expertly griddled sandwich at the smartly painted picnic table adjacent to the truck. These eggs are from the hard fried school. Some people love ‘em like that with crisp edges. I’m typically a fan of lower heat cooking for more tender whites. But it works here. Mostly because that bacon is just so fantastically crisp. And there’s no question about what kind of cheese this sandwich comes with, it’s white american. Obviously. And the thing is so flavorful you can skip the saltpepperketchup. I mean, this isn’t Jersey, you know. If you’re sketched out, don’t be. Come. Enjoy this. And know that you’re getting a special treat that those who may be skittish about the neighborhood will never get to experience. N.B. Last year Eggy stayed open until late December. He’s trying to winterize the truck a bit better this year. But now he has a phone, so you can call and confirm if you plan to make the drive out.

Capital regions best hidden secret. Tucked away behind the Whitney Young Health Care Center on the corner of Erie and North Lawrence you’ll find a vast array of characters from your every day blue collar worker looking to grab a great egg sandwich for breakfast or a hot dog with that REAL meat sauce, none of that imitation stuff that’s the go to elsewhere, for lunch, to some random guy needing money to allegedly grab the bus. All in all it’s a great experience, & great food all at a great price. Eggy is true American, and if you love America come support a small business like Eggys and leave satisfied knowing you did.
