We ordered DC Pizza for an office party last week. I was very pleased. It was delivered on time, the driver was very courteous and friendly and the pizza was great.

«Tasty Takeout» by Josh K. Across the street from the SUNY Albany campus on Western Avenue is a — blink and you miss it — pizza shop, DC’s pizza and wings — a hidden gem of Albany. DC’s pizza differentiates itself from other take-out pizza joints in the city in that everything seems freshly made and prepared with lots of TLC. The dough is chewy and yeasty — it appears hand-tossed to order rather than using pre-made or frozen dough giving an enjoyable tear and pull texture that isn’t gummy either. This is not New York style Neapolitan style mind you — it is much thicker, but I would argue, tastier. The sausage is full of deep anise and fennel flavor — perhaps homemade? The pizza sauce is zesty full of garlic and herbs — so much so that many times I prefer getting the COB(Cheese on the bottom) style so that I can dip my end crust in the sauce spillover. And best of all, unlike most other pizza shops, the pizza holds up well for takeout. Why anybody would order Papa Johns or Dominoes when DC’s is available is beyond me.

Food is OK but is very poorly run. There is no loyalty to customers. I have been ordering from them for years. We typically spend $ 50-$ 60 a transaction because we have a large family. We had ordered a party pack a couple of months prior and nobody gave us our 2 Liter bottle of soda. When I called they said they would put it in the register so next time it would be free. Well when I went to place yet another $ 50+ order and requested that my 2 liter be thrown in I was told that since there was no documentation that I could not have the soda. So I canceled my order. So your willing to lose a $ 50 order over a 2 liter bottle of soda that I had already paid for anyway?

Well I ordered from DCs twice this week(I can eat pizza everyday) and it was delicious as expected and as usual. I come to Albany from out of state a lot and I never miss at least one pizza from DCs during my visits. I highly recommend it.

Start with food was ok not worth the $ 33 for the pizza. Wait for pick up is 30mins and wen you get there another 20mins. I asked two tims on the phone how much and was never told when i got there i was shell shocked and un imprest with the pizza. The restaurants nere it take up all the parking. All in all will never order from here again

My big family has been going here ever since it opened, which is before I was born. If you DC’s people are reading, does Blanchet or Lasch sound familiar? That’s the family. They at least treat our family almost like royalty. There are other good places in the Capitial District, and I pass several of them on my way to DC’s because DC’s is 1000 times better than all of them. As I write this a chain pizza joint commercial is on and I just cringed. Anyway, the food is almost always perfect. And on the days it’s not perfect, they fix it and make it perfect. You guys have been the best for 25 plus years and I hope it’s there for another 75 plus years. Keep it up.

Good stuff. Doesn’t look like it at first(pizza is in the little rotating oven like you see at gas stations) but it was really good. Also had a pinwheel creation with bacon. Good prices also.

Just old school pizza… Albany is a tough town for Pizza… Cheap slices has made our city a desert for quality cheese and fresh pizza. I drive 10 miles each way to get my Pizza at DC’s. The cheese reminds me of the pies I got as a kid on Long Island. The Pizza is always ready and hot when I get there. My kids love the buffalo wings and the meatballs too. It’s nice to go to a place where the owner is behind the counter and the employees are familiar faces.

This is by far the worst pizza I’ve ever had in my life. I was visiting Albany from out of town with my husband and we ordered a pizza with pepperoni(greasy, gross, small), mushrooms(that tasted canned), spinach(so small i had to ask my husband if they remembered to put it on) and small wilted canned onion slivers. Not to mentioned stale canned sauce. I’ve been all over and eaten all sorts of pizza. We think we are pizza realists nor even snobs and this place was worse than the 2 am pizza I ate in college. These were definitely not«the finest ingredients» Gross.

Typical cardboard, overly greasy, laden with cheap cheese. If you like bar room style pizza, sop up your beer kind of pie, then this is your place.

I end up trying this place every few months with a hope it has gotten better. I mean I do see people going in and ordering pizza from time to time. I think to myself, «Hey maybe I was there on an off day, I should give them another try». Now we at the point where my optimism dies and is replaced by regret and disappointment. DC Pizza secret recipe. 1 part marginal service 1 part stale pizza from a hot box Honestly the only good thing about this place is the outdoor seating but that doesn’t really get any points from me because there is no indoor seating. Bottom line: There is no reason to eat pizza here when Luigi’s Deli is next store and Bello Pranzo is two doors down.

Managers a jerk. Visiting the area and staying in a days inn next to this pizza shop. My family and I were in the mood for some pizza and found their website. Under specials found a special for buy 2 get 1 free subs. In the fine print it states that the special has to be printed and presented to get the special. As I stated we are in a hotel and don’t make a habit of traveling with a printer so called and explained we had no means to print a coupon. Manager said that they would not honor the special. How lame! I’ll visit one of the hundred other pizza shops in the area if this is the kind of jerk that operates this place.

We order from here once a week at work. The pizza is OK… There are definitely better places around but its edible and cheap. I feel the same way about their subs and salads. The boneless wings are just cut up chicken tenders which are a rip off. Delivery is hit or miss alot of times. We call the order in very early and are consistent every week yet many times they have come late. You would think they would try extra hard for a regular customer when its so easy to give your business to someone else who cares.

DC’s, one of my favorites from my time living on the UAlbany campus. The great thing about this place is that it was stupid cheap. They had fantastic deals on pizza, wings, and soda. My suite would routinely order an assload of pizza and wings(the official university diet) from DC’s and it would always be at a really good price. The quality of the food is also very good. The pizza has a great flavor to it, and is one of the better(but not necessarily the best) options in that area.

I was recently in here for a couple slices after a UAlbany basketball game. I remember in grad school, this was the default place where pizza came from when the school ordered it. And it was always wonderful. Even though it was typically the 24 sqaure cut boring pies, it always seemed to be done just right. I think their sauce is really top notch. It fills the pizza out, and just plain old tastes good. The plain slices I got after the game weren’t the best, but they had probably been sitting out a while. If I was going on those alone, I’d give it 3 stars. But since I’ve had their pizza plenty other times, it’s definitely worth 4. On an aside, there is very minimal seating in the place. And their prices are extrememly reasonable.

A mouth filling sensation of deliciousness. AKA Umami and all pizza should have it, but precious few actually do(learn more here: ) That is what I got when I took my first bite into this Pizza. Holy crap was that tasty. The crust was a bit thick for my preference, but now that I know how good this stuff is, I can’t wait until Passover is done so I can go back in for a proper slice. My thought is that when it’s thrown back in the hot hot oven, the bottom crust will crisp up nicely and it may very well be the best pizza I’ve had in the area. On a personal note, I appreciate how haphazard the place looks on the inside. To say it’s nothing fancy is a gross exaggeration. It’s a bit bigger than a hole in the wall, but it is all perfectly appropriate for the place. Oddly, the only thing out of place was the super friendly attitude behind the counter. What gives? Probably they are just giddy about just how good their pizza tastes.
