The pizza is very good. I was pleased to have the option for gluten free which was a nice 12 inch pie with a crispy thin crust — very tasty. The phone was ringing quite steadily for delivery. The variety of pizza is good and the slices are very generous. The inside dining option is nice and quite expansive — lots of tables to choose from, high chairs for young ones, etc. Those are the things done right. What is offputting: the cashier/order taker playing with her hair while you are ordering — she was fingercombing her long hair nonstop(extensions I believe) while taking our order — her hair was long and loose and all over the place — this is a gross combo with food. The service is not the swiftest — my daughter’s slice came about 15 minutes before my food and then my boyfriend’s salad well after that — a timing issue. The salad was awesome by the way — grilled chicken with medium sauce and lots of veggies and cheese — that was also a good thing. The other thing that wasn’t good was the spices for putting on pizza — the oregano/parsley was in a container where the holes are way smaller than the spices so the lid had to be unscrewed(such an easy fix — go to Dollar Tree down the road and get a shaker) and the tops of the condiments were not wiped off(they were crusty so that means not wiped for a while). Little things matter — take a mop to the floor, wipe the tables, pull your hair back and keep your hands off it. I have had this pizza for delivery and it is very good. I have to say I like this place and would come again but some of the finer parts of service need tweaking.

Finding gluten free, egg free pizza is extremely difficult but Crispy Basil has done it! I ordered their gluten free pizza with vegan cheese. Next time I am going to ask for light vegan cheese as the crust is very thin and it made the middle a little soggy. Their wings are delicious!

Overall, a pretty good experience. This place is located just outside the Crossgates Mall and was a pretty convenient stop for us on our trip home along 87. Definitely some good parts and some not so good parts of our lunch. The good: crust is very thin, crispy, similar to that you’d find in NYC. Also had a good variety of toppings available as slices at lunchtime. The not so good: some of the toppings were weird: Italian dressing on one, Ranch on another; Buffalo chicken pizza with tomato sauce on it. Overall though, this place was decent and if you stick with the more traditional pies, I think you’ll be satisfied. Prices are fine. Slices are huge. Staff pretty nice.

Bad service ! Waiting here for 45 minutes for a medium slice cheese pizza. I do not know about the pizza but frankly I don’t feel like having it anymore. Never going back there anymore, though I live in the neighborhood.

I have been eating here for approx 10 months about once a week. The male owner is really creepy and not friendly. The pizza is always undercooked so I always have to finish cooking it. The hot sauce bottles are crusty and dirty looking. I became sick a month ago after going there and didn’t go again until yesterday which made me sick again. I’ve been in bed for 2 days sick after eating there, which I felt by the time I hit my car. A friend of mine also ate there last night with his family and he’s sick also. Good concept but service is poor, pizza toppings are uncooked often, and why do I keep getting sick from their food? Never going there again!

I liked the inside of the restaurant, it’s nice. But I did not like the bottles of Frank’s RedHot that had dirty tops with crusty bits of old hot sauce all over them. Based on the pizza we had, Crispy Basil’s pizza is decent, but not a standout. Where they are on Western Ave, there are several other pizza places that are just as good, if not better. They claim to serve«artisan pizza». I’m still trying to figure out what’s artisan about Crispy Basil. The artisan claim is stretching the truth methinks. These guys are as artisan as Domino’s is homemade.

Have visited several times and still make a fifteen mile trip. Pizza at both locations is outstanding, also got a ravioli dinner to bring home tonight. Also got an order of the boneless wings and the kids loved them. Mild sauce was a weird sweet style but tasted real good. Unlike most Italian joints that, for whatever reason, have small ravioli dinners this one was big enough to feed a family. Sauce was«ok». Restaurant is clean. Worth going back to again and again. Should open a location in Delmar.

I have ordered from here a few times and the pizza has always been decent. I would not recommend ordering anything with bacon on it. Recently I ordered a «Turkey Panini» from here and could not eat it. The panini had bacon on it, which would have been fine if the bacon were actually real. The bacon was some kind of processed meat that was actually formed and colored to make it look like a real piece of bacon(See photo). It looked like one of those dog treats«beggin’ strips». it also had a really gross greasy smell to it, I was really grossed out and had to throw the panini away. I didn’t even know imitation bacon existed-very unnecessary seeing as how delicious real bacon is. I also thought for a second maybe it was vegan bacon and made of tofu or something, except that would make zero sense because it is a turkey panini. I gave 2 stars because previous experiences here were better, however I will not be eating from here again.

Wings were amazing. Pizza on the other hand tasted like they gave us the leftover pizzas that they had already made… It wasn’t horrible but it tasted like I was eating a day old pizza. I am giving them another try tonight to deliver me a fresh hot pizza. I will let you know how it goes.

A tasty new addition to our take-out/delivery rotation. I’m from NYC and my boyfriend is from Chicago, so it should be clear that we are pretty discerning pizza enthusiasts with totally different pizza interests. We were both very happy with the food at Crispy Basil. There’s a nice selection with specialty toppings(or without!), and the pizza itself is about as good as Albany does for pizza. They also had a good deal on that was buy 3 get 1 free slices after 5pm. Not sure how often that is the case. We got take-out and didn’t call it in, consequently the service was a bit slow, but not awful. They also deliver and have a nice dining area for sit down meals too. We’ll be back!
