I’ve had breakfast here 3 times now as well as had mochas and everything has been perfection. The first couple times we went I had their eggs Benedict. Delicious! Loved their house potatoes. The last time was when Restaurant Week was going on and I’m drawing a blank for what I had but it was delicious as well.

Holy Huevos Rancheros! I’ve been here numerous times and let me tell you, BMC has it dialed in. I’ve tried many breakfast/lunch options and everything has come out made to order perfect. The Dungeness crab Benedict was by far my favorite. Don’t forget to try the house made pop tarts either. BMC has nailed it.

Chaotic staff with no one in charge. Overpriced food which is presented nicely but bland and not flavorful. Will not return

Went here on a Saturday morning around 10, much less crowded than other breakfast places(e.g. broken yolk in Corvallis) I had the carnitas Benedict which was absolutely phenomenal. lots of flavor and the perfect amount of spice. not something you see on a breakfast menu every day. also tried my friends chicken and waffles which were solid, more on the sweet side. Although a little pricey, the mimosas are fabulous. tried prickly pear and caramelized pineapple flavors. staff were friendly, the food was out quick enough considering how busy they were. would definitely recommend.

They have great breakfast. We love the side potatoes and bloody mary bar. The atmosphere is great too.

We were excited to finally try this place and the reviews looked promising. When we arrived, we were really impressed by the pastries in the case(homemade Pop Tarts… awesome!) and the espresso bar. Waited a while to be greeted and seated but it was a Sunday and we expected delays, so not a big deal. The restaurant itself is gorgeous and clean. Staff was friendly, service was great. The only reason I’m rating Brick and Mortar Café a three-star is that the food was not impressive. The menu was appetizing and everything sounded good. I ordered the classic Eggs Benedict that came with potatoes, my husband ordered the Strawberry Crepes and the kids had French Toast and a breakfast burrito. My daughter’s French Toast was dry and pretty flavorless, even though the presentation with berries on top was gorgeous. My son enjoyed the burrito but didn’t rave about it. My Eggs Benedict itself was pretty good, but the ham was way too thick and I just really didn’t taste anything. I had to put Tabasco on it to get some flavor. It could also be because the potatoes were very over-seasoned with some sort of spice, I’m guessing perhaps sage. It was so strong that I honestly couldn’t taste anything else. I love sage, but it was way too strong. My husband was excited about the crepes, but when he got them, he was sad to see the mushy(probably frozen) strawberries and the soup of strawberry sauce that covered the lovely crepes. He was disappointed in the flavor as well, indicating that the sauce overpowered everything else. The prices were good for the portions we received and we honestly think that Brick & Mortar has the potential to be a great breakfast/lunch place in our little town. Just hoping the chef takes note of customer comments and perhaps makes a few changes to the food preparation and quality. We’re really hoping to return and find the food improved. Not our last visit, but we’re wary.

We stumbled upon a goldmine I the heart of old town Albany Oregon. Great food. Cool Bloody Mary bar. Great coffee Amazing food. And an atmosphere that feels like Portland. We had salads and it was plenty of food. People around us ordered breakfast and our eyes bulged

This restaurant has been open around six months and I finally made it in a few times recently to try it out. I’ve had lunch brunch and breakfast today. The food is good, great and okay. Very odd clam chowder fish flavor to the biscuits and gravy and twice now have almost received the wrong plate had I not said something and I consistently had a different person helping me so I was unsure who my waiter/waitress was. I should have sent my food back to stay warm while waiting for my friends meal to come out, I ended up only eating half since it was cold when theirs got their and we waited ten minutes for a check before asking for one. After a few visits I’d say there is improvement needed but it is a good restaurant.

Great food and the cocktails were fantastic. Salmon lox Benedict and the corned beef hash were amazing. The bloody Mary is great with the beef straw and the old bay rim. My boyfriend liked both of his drinks, the mint hound, and the espresso old fasioned. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a fun brunch.

This place has it right! We had breakfast, and everything was perfect. The price seemed slightly high, but for what we got, well worth it. The food was spectacular! The waitress was very good — friendly, got everything right, and stopped by just the right amount. Will stop by again the next time we’re in the area for sure.

We’ve been here several times and absolutely love it. The only downside to this place is that the service can be very slow at times. I love the caprese omelette and salmon lux Benedict. The décor is very nice and enjoyable. Definitely the best brunch place is Albany and Corvallis.

This place has very good food. You notice the fresh baked goods the first thing when you walk in the door. The staff is always nice and friendly. They have some unique options for dining such as the salmon lox Benedict for breakfast. I decided to go with the classic Benedict which came out looking perfect. I cut into the stack for my first bite and it felt tough. I then realized that they put some THICK cut ham on this dish. The taste was amazing. Added mortar style potatoes with the dish and it was great too. The prices are a little high but I would say that you definitely get what you pay for.

This is the BEST place for brunch I’ve ever been to, hands down. The décor is fantastic. I had the Cobb omelet and it was delicious. The eggs were fluffy, everything was super fresh, and the Sisters brand coffee was smooth and satisfying. Service was good, if a little slow, but the place was packed, so I can’t really fault them there. I thoroughly enjoy leisurely brunch on the weekend, so it wasn’t a downside to me, but if you’re in a hurry it cold be cumbersome. PROS — amazing food. Fresh, delicious, hearty. — beautiful décor. — awesome coffee. — great selection — good prices. CONS — very busy(still worth it) — slowish, but very enjoyable service

Absolutely amazing service. Food was even better! And if you can believe it, affordable! I expected to pay quite a bit but was pleasantly surprised when I got my bill for three people. The wait was the worst part. The establishment is fairly small so our wait time for table of six was around 45 minutes. In there defense they were slammed. We also waited longer than expected but my god was it worth the wait. We all started sharing our food. «You have to try this!» was the common phrase for the morning. This will be our go to spot for breakfast from now on. However, next time we will be making reservations. :)

This place already drew a large crowd/line so I am reluctant to give it 5 stars. The long line however was no problem, because they are set-up to cope with a busy brunch crowd. I struck out while trying to leave Eugene the day after a late football game and the town was still bustling. Lines out the door, strike. No bar, strike. I just couldn’t deal with another strike so I hit the freeway Northbound to Albany. I was mostly just trying to find a place with a decent review and a full service review when I happened upon the listing for Brick and Mortar. (Downtown) Albany on a Sunday looks like a ghost town. I was giving the driver directions and our party of 4 made our way over to «downtown». Found nearby parking and the building with a few people loitering around the front. Little did I know they were patrons. I wasn’t expecting a Portland like line. So we merged into the building and got on the list, they take down your number and send you a text around 5 minutes before your table is ready. That was convenient as I was sitting across the street having a cider at another local place. So our group was seated at a table right in the middle. We opted for the Bloody Mary bar, which is not toooo bad. You can upgrade your vodka for a couple of dollars and the thing comes pretty heavily poured. I believe it was 9 for well and 11 for higher up, or 11 and 13. I can’t be too positive. It has been a while. They have all of your usual fixins’ and probably a little more. Shrimp skewers, which were a little on the over salted side, so be warned. Little onions, pepperoncinis, celery, hot sauces, horseradish, different bloody mary mix blends etc etc… hollowed out, pepperoni stick straw. This is excellent on paper. Horrible on execution. There is nothing like a pepperoni stick that is honed out, used as a straw, then consumed. The meat is now cold and tastes like vodka. I would steer clear of that, unless that sounds like your kind of thing. I ordered the Chicken and waffles, I am willing to say it was better than the chicken and waffles I had at Hash House a Go-Go in Vegas. But that may just be personal preference. I really thought their light batter was perfectly seasoned, perfect texture and the waffle and hot syrup added the perfect combination of sweetness to go with the savory chicken. The other people I went with are ready to make a trip down on a weekend, specifically for this. All the way from Portland. So that is saying something about the food. Service was a little slow, but I don’t know how many more waitstaff you can fit in the place without giving each table their own server.

Well all good things must come to an end… This was our 4th and final visit to Brick and Mortar. The first two visits were exceptional with the Steak and Fries becoming our favorite staple here. But the last two visits the service and quality of the food has declined. I think that they just grew too fast for their own good. The visit today was a full house like normal. We waited at the door for 30min to be seated, during which 6 other couples came and went because the crowd. After we were seated we waited 20min to see a waitress and get drinks, after which we waited another 10 minutes for her to take our order. The three of us had Steak and Fries, and the Chicken Cob salad. We also ordered a bowl of the pumpkin bisque and a side salad. From this point on I think we must have accidentally turned on our invisibility cloak, because we had no visit or acknowledgement from our waitress until our food came out 45min later!(1:30min after stepping in the door) When our food arrived the chicken cob salad seemed to be just a cob salad(no chicken) and our medium rare steaks were more of a cold tartar.(See pic) By the way, did I mention that we are still waiting for our drinks to be refilled for the first time. After waiting for her(waitress) to return, we decided to flag down another waitress to get us more drinks and let her know about the food. She said she would talk to someone and come right back… I hope she is ok, because we never saw her again. Finally our original waitress came back with drinks and we showed her the food and the above mentions issues. The saving grace was that she did not hesitate to comp our meals. This is the only reason that they are receiving 2 stars and not 1. I loved this place from our first visit and was very excited about having a restaurant of this caliber in Albany to visit for lunch(Sybaris is still my favorite dinner spot) but they did not prepare and handle the growth very well and after the last 2 visits, it is not worth the $$$. Too bad, I had high hopes…

Six of us came for Sunday Brunch, and were favorably impressed. The Brick & Mortar Café was slammed, but the servers handled the crush with style, getting us seated as quickly as humanly possible. I found the food good, reasonably priced, and in good quantity. I will be happy to return. Four Stars.
