Do not get your hair done at this salon! It was almost a joke how bad the 2 stylists were that attempted a simple blowout. Actually had to re-wet and new stylist attempted, failed. Was shocked at how poor their salon knowledge and techniques were, very elementary. Should not be in styling business.

Not a fan. Had partial highlights done there, then went back to get it fixed. Just wasn’t impressed with the quality of work, or the price… considering I moved here from Manhattan.

First, I had my hair cut somewhere else, and for the first time I felt I needed to get it fixed — it was that bad. Then I went to Classical Concepts a few days later, and they were able to fit me in the day I called. SarahJane cut my hair, and it was perfect. She managed to get it exactly as I wanted, even though it had just been cut somewhere else. They are a little pricey, but worth every penny.

I’ve only been once but I had a great experience. They were very polite and accommodating — I was a walk-in. I was very surprised when the girl that cut my hair asked if I wanted a head and shoulder massage and if I wasn’t in a hurry I would have said yes! I liked that she didn’t annoy me with talking too much and just let me enjoy it. She didn’t cut off too much like most tend to do and she did a great job. I paid $ 35 with Kiki and I liked that I could put the tip on my card instead of having to draw it from an ATM which seems to be a trend everywhere else :/They also asked me if I wanted tea or water. They definitely try to make you more comfortable than any other place that I’ve been too. I would definitely go back and recommend it to others.

Had to go in for a fix after a bad haircut elsewhere and was pleased with the outcome. I’ll be going back. The hairdresser was very nice, prices are reasonable, the salon itself is very relaxing. The only con is that the stations are setup by a window that looks out on the mall, so passersby can see you as you’re mid-process, which can make you feel a little self-conscious.

Called Aveda the day before to set up an appointment. The girl on the phone was polite. When I got to the salon, the receptionist was polite and my hair stylist was great and did an amazing job! So professional and did a fantastic job! Definately coming back

I had the good fortune of enjoying a wonderful facial and the caribbean manicure at this salon recently and highly recommend both services. Jillian did my facial and Sarah Jane did the manicure and both were excellent at what they do. I hope to have the chance to stop and enjoy those services again soon!

Some of the worst customer service ever. I called in the morning to find out prices for a massage and was told it was $ 55 for a half hour and $ 90 for a full hour. I decided to book for a half hour and was given a 4:45pm appt. When I arrived, there was a sign outside advertising a full hour massage for $ 60. Since there is no way I was going to pay $ 5 less for half the service time, I explained to the receptionist that I had called earlier and was given the above-decribed information. She looked at me like I had two heads and said that the next appointment for a full hour wasn’t until 6:45. Like most people, I didn’t have two hours to kill so I asked if there was something that could be done with the price for the half hour massage I booked. At this point someone else walked over and I was told that the best she could do was a $ 5 discount off the half hour service. REALLY? First of all, no apology was offered & no explanation was given for why I was provided with inaccurate information when I called to book my appointment. Second of all, what business would rather lose a paying(repeat) customer then offer a reasonable discount to correct their mistake. I declined the measly $ 5 discount and they lost a paying customer.

Like any many Asian-American women, I have been traumatized as a child from a multitude of bad haircuts from shady Chinese salons my mother brought me to. I used to absolutely dread getting my hair cut… afraid that my hairdresser will cut more than I wanted to, or give me another bowl haircut. But, now, I have discovered this gem. It’s a little on the pricier side than what I’m used to($ 45 for a trim), but I came out of the salon with soft, perfectly styled hair. Heck, they even suckered me into buying Aveda hair products when I felt how soft my hair was after they used their stuff to wash and style my hair. I don’t regret it though!

They really know how to make you relax, very professional. The place is very clean and luxurious, the staff is very personal. I got a wonderful Chakra massage and even massage on my scalp when I got a haircut. No matter how much money I pay at any other places, you never get your head massaged, what a shame !!! Good service and wonderful staff.

So, it’s been almost a year, and I’ve been back here a few times for hair services. I have to say, I never need to worry about my hair being botched here. I am mindful to always make appointments with senior stylists, and they are worth the extra money if not for the extra peace of mind. Today I went in for a cut and some color. Haircut came out great. Color looks good. I brought my own dye, since I have peacock-colored streaks, and Aveda specializes in super natural colors. While everything turned out peachy, these guys still have issues with overcharging. I was quoted $ 30 for the dye job(no discounts for bringing your own dye?), and last time I had my hair cut there, it was $ 45 with a senior stylist. So tell me, please, how did my service today cost $ 90?(Oh, okay, I just called, and they told me they charged an extra $ 20 for the process time. Ummmm… Calling back tomorrow to talk to a manager, because that’s not cool!) Yeah. And they forgot my hand massage. — — — – UPDATE: I guess we sort of got things settled? I ended up talking with the manager, who did not want to do anything about this problem, defending their decision to charge me an extra $ 20 for the extra time, despite the fact that the entire time I was in the chair, I was told I would be charged $ 30 for the color. Whatever happened to the theory that the customer is always right? Believe me, I am one of those people who almost always smiles and nods, never ever sends food back, and generally lets things slide to avoid confrontation. If I get to a point where I complain, then something is definitely wrong. In any other situation, I would have expected an almost immediate refund and profuse apologies. Here, I had to argue over the phone because this was clearly something that was unacceptable. In the end, I didn’t get a refund, but I did get a $ 20 credit on my account to be used with the same stylist. Apparently, they also had to put notes in my account to let me know exactly what they are charging, but really, if you are told over and over again what you’ll be charged, why is this necessary or even surprising? Now for the deliberation over the stars. I give them five glorious stars for their senior hair services. Really. My hair looks great, and it’s not the first time it’s been cut here. They are consistent here, and they are one of the only places I trust with my hair. However, their customer service is incredibly disappointing and needs major work. I’m ultimately semi-okay with the $ 20 credit, but I am really… truly angry and frustrated in how I ended up there. Also, considering that this is not my first time being frustrated with the customer service at this location, I feel like there’s something to be said for that.

Having had NYC quality haircuts for the last 3 years, I was incredibly nervous to have someone else cut my hair besides my hairdresser in the city. However, for $ 40 bucks(compared to the 75 I used to pay) for a massage, shampoo, and haircut, I figured it was definitely worth a shot. And boy am I glad I was able to take the plunge. Chloe was GREAT and I got a great haircut out of it as well. Granted, it’s not the same environment as I’m used to. But at the sametime, I got so familiar to my old Aveda Salon in the city with the same hairdresser for three years, I knew I had to give someone new a chance. It was great and I’m definitely going to come back!
