Lovely old cinema on Main Street. Waitress was lovely. We had jalapeño poppers for starters– a little too deep fried for me but very moreish. For main we had pasta. Marinara sauce and meatballs were homemade and very good. Drank a decent bottle of Chianti. Overall a very nice place with good hearty Italian food.

Quick look rating: 5⁄5 Food & Quality, 5⁄5 Service, 5⁄5 experience Margarita was the waitress that made the first visit wonderful! Service top notch! Started with medium thin crusted pizza! Toppings included sun dried tomatoes, artichoke hearts, Italian sausage, cheese, pepperoni on a wonderful thin crust. Next had a small Cesar salad that was real good.(Small pizza to share with a small Cesar, great option to suggest!) Followed by a creamy balsamic shrimp pasta with a slice of garlic bread. During the meal a glass of cab. Red and white checker table cloth on all the tables. On all the tables was a small pouring jar of olive oil with marinated red pepper flakes, what a great touch of fun foodie class! I love this little place, and will be back soon!

Well our part of 8 had to sit in their ballroom, secluded for everyone. Which was okay since we had 4 children with us. It just made it hard for the waiter to really check on us. Then we had to ask the manager to find our waiter because we were ready to order. Our food was so undercooked, rare steak that was so rare it was almost cold to the touch and the vegetables were almost to hard to really enjoy. Next time we go we’ll stick to pastas! And the little chocolates they give you at the end were so good! The plus to our evening!

Great historic atmosphere. Food is great, from calzones to Pasta. Italian Nachos and Italian chef salad are great and one of a kind. Great for casual and formal dining. They seem to cater to large groups well. We have enjoyed a few Christmas parties with great success and perfect food!

I’ve been meaning to review this place for over a month now. We spent a weekend in Alamosa and our dinner here was a very pleasant experience. The food was closer to a 4 star but the cuteness, cleanliness and exceptional customer service definitely deserve 5 stars. Wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert for under $ 50 — amazing deal. We ate at 3 different places that weekend and this was the best experience by far. Don’t pass it up!

Bistro Rialto is a great local spot to stop for dinner! I love finding fun, non-chain restaurants when I travel, and Rialto is just that. It’s definitely pegged the Italian Mafia vibe with old pictures of Al Capone and his gang up on all the walls. The service was very good, and the hostess and our server were very polite! I had the spaghetti and meatballs, and while it’s not necessarily the best I’ve ever had, it was delicious! No complaints at all! Definitely check it out!

For what’s in town it was clean with good service. Also very reasonable prices and option for half dishes.

Really giving this place 2.5 stars Maybe this small town needs to experience what real Italian food taste like before they say that’s what they’re serving. The place overall is nice, clean and welcoming. Our waitress was sweet and did a great job waiting on us. I only saw one wine I was familiar with so we went with the Layer Cake. The food was hit or miss. We started with salads and fried calamari. We were hesitant to get the calamari, but we asked our waitress if it was good and she said that it was one of the most popular starters. Our salads came out first. They were OK, certainly better than some of the iceberg lettuce plates I had been served in some of these small towns. It was chopped Romaine and even had some fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, and some canned olives. The calamari arrived and my man had to hold back laughter. I’d never seen calamari look like this before: rubber calamari strips? They probably came out of a box I’m sure. At least it wasn’t greasy and the marinara was flavorful. For dinner we had the veggie lasagna, the Caribbean pasta, and a pepperoni pizza for the little one. My pasta dish was pretty good, it had a nice spiciness to the sauce and the mushrooms had a nice sear to them that rounded out the dish. The pizza was pretty good as well — I really enjoyed the thin buttery crust. The veggie lasagna however was dreadful. It was just a bunch of ricotta with a few bits of veggies in it with maybe one layer of pasta. My boyfriend called it a hot bowl of cheese stuff. I’m sure for this small town this place is considered to be a nice restaurant, but for those who know Italian — you might be let down.

BAD Day? About 50 minutes after our so-so salads, our waiter kindly(he was very kind and apologetic) informed us that he had neglected to turn in our pizza order. It would at least be hot when it arrived, he joked. It wasn’t hot — not cold, but either it sat in the kitchen a while or it wasn’t in the oven long enough. The pizza was far from good — a crust that reminded me of saltine crackers, sausage in the shape of pellets that looked like dog food, and nothing impressive but it’s price.

This is hands down the best restaurant in Alamosa. I’ve eaten here on several occasions. The food and service is consistently top notch. As a twenty five year veteran of the service industry it is immediately obvious upon entering an establishment when owners and management are«from» the business. These folks are, and it is evident in the chef’s preparations as well as the the efficiency of the front of house.

There were 7 people in our party — which I wouldn’t consider uncommonly large, nor was it a busy night. Two side salads were not brought out with the others and one didn’t have the dressing(which took telling the waitress twice before getting it). The main course was brought out in 3 waves and by the time the last two people got their food, the first three people were done. The chicken fettuccine alfredo wasn’t any better than Pizza Huts — pretty disappointing. The waitress never did come with our tickets so I went to the hostess and 7 minutes later I finally got the ticket but then the hostess brought me back someone else’s credit card slip … and I paid with cash and needed change.

I’m giving a one star for the hostess’s ability in giving a time estimate. We were told 30 minutes top and it turned out to be over an hour. A good hostess would have a better handle of the flow of business.

When a towns most popular restaurant is the neighborhood Chili’s I get a little scared. The Unilocaler and foodie in me becomes sad. Thanks to my Unilocal family I came across this neighborhood gem, Bistro Rialto. *Important to note they have a full bar but do not have a bar to sit at. When you’re doing traveling for business alone a lot of the time I’m looking for a great bar to sit at instead of taking up a whole table on my own. Just saying. Classic comfort Italian food will be had here. I was craving some pasta so that’s the side of the menu I stuck with. My evening consisted of: 2 glasses of Cabernet house wine Cesar salad, no anchovies please Spaghetti, homemade meatballs, and garlic bread The house Cabernet wine was delightful, hence the two glasses, and at $ 4.50 a glass it’s a good deal too. Cesar salad was fresh the crisp accompanied my homemade croutons to seal the deal, delicious. The highlight for the evening was the entrée. I could tell the meatballs were homemade, depth of flavor and lots of herbs and seasoning. Marinara sauce was thick and coated the spaghetti perfectly. Portion was large, there was no way I could finish it off. Prices and good for a family Italian restaurant, for my meal, $ 31 with tip. *One thing I wish they did was tell me about the special of the night. I heard my waiter tell another table and it sounded delicious and I would have totally ordered that if I was told about the dish(Cheese tortellini with Carbonara sauce). On my future visits to Alamosa I can see this making it in the rotation of solid dinner options.

Let me start by saying that I really would give this a 3 – 3.5 stars but in Alamosa we are almost tempted to give it 5+. Rural Colorado, especially if you are a vegetarian is a bit of a nightmare. They had both a vegetarian lasagne option and multiple salad options as well as things for people who need to go gluten free. Prices were very reasonable and they have options for half orders on many dishes. I got a salad and a half order of veg lasagne. The lasagne flavor was over all pretty balanced not super amazing but good, but it was swimming in cheese so I had to do a lot of scraping. The salad was basic but had a nice flavor — really pretty good. My friend got the calamari and found it to be pretty fishy but ate some of it. Her salad was also really good. The waitress and hostess were both total sweethearts — great customer service. Over all I would say give it a try.

Originally the Pizza Den and Pasta owners, they have now evolved into the premier Italian restaurant in the San Luis Valley. The old Rialto theater has been completely remodeled to house this wonderful eatery. The remodel job preserved a lot of the original character of the theater. The service is friendly, they have a nice selection of Italian beers and wines. The husband and I both had lasagna, mine was spinach and his was the Valley favorite. House salads are served with homemade dressing. And to top it off, the owner came by for a quick chat and touch. She is very proud of saving the theater and of her restaurant. Great addition to Alamosa.
