This is an absolutely gorgeous historical building! I have always loved the architecture and uniqueness to it as well as all the special programs it enables. It is enormous. Sometimes the Alameda Parks Department (ARPD) holds its annual Haunted House here — a truly special community event — and you are literally going through a long maze of rooms. The building itself although gorgeous is a bit spooky. There are some haunted rumors and stories.
