I’m not quite sure what to make of this place. Adorable store front and window displays next to a stellar greenhouse, I wish I had found this place for my own uses! The inside feels part boutique, part second hand shop, part aviary, part house. Not everything is for sale — like the beautiful birds — seriously some of the loveliest little birds I’ve ever seen. There are some plants, and some gift items. Outside there are more plants, again, not all for sale, some furniture, and some partially finished garden projects. I seriously couldn’t quite tell if I was in a gift shop, home goods store or my zany aunt’s eclectic, cluttered apartment. I think I’ll be back?

I stumbled upon this cute lil shop while I was visiting the area. It was so much fun looking through all the unique items both vintage and new. I knew I was going to walk out with something special. I ended up walking out with not one… but four items! A mix of just a few things they offer… a cute chaby chic side table, Parisian frame and glass jar and a potted grassy plant that I have never seen before. The shop owners are super nice and accommodating. I look forward to returning and grabbing some art, a handmade knitted item and a sweet smelling French soap.

without a doubt, the best store in Alameda. Entering pixies and peony is a new experience. You will find a treasure that you will cherish, a gift for someone special, a piece of furniture that will be the talk of the town, furniture that are restored and distressed with great taste, plants and flowers with many kinds of holders and pots made with passion. They also sell artsy and crafty unique handmade objects, gifts and art. Go visit the team behind Pixies and Peony, Minda and Renee, they are so helpful, charming and accommodating. Finally a one stop shop for everyone you know, everyone on your list and don’t forget… yourself.

I went to this store yesterday for the first time while I was cruising through Alameda. It’s super cute, and I like that it’s owned by a mother and daughter team. The store is smallish but packed with handmade treasures. The front room has everything from jewelry to cards, soaps, candles, mirrors, terrariums, and other goodies. The back has a small art gallery made by local artists. A small side room has a few dresses to advertise their sewing classes, and a small outside area has a few outdoor plants and plant holders for sale. Definitely a great place to purchase unique gifts for a variety of different people. Bonus! — They have the cutest dwarf quails that live here and lay little quail eggs, adorable! Not sure if they are the mascots, or resident quail cuteness, but a highlight when visiting the store.

This ‘up-and-coming’ new shabby-chic boutique/gift shop is owned by a lovely mother/daughter team with great taste and awesome crafting skills. It’s last incarnation was a flower shop, so they integrate plants, birds, natural decorations. These people make much of what you see on display; distressed vintage furniture, yarn crafts, etc. They support and represent local artist offering unique art, jewelry, cards, and more! A great resource for reasonably priced gifts, and fun home décor! Check it out!
