I really dig this place, but I just sat there at the bar waiting to order a drink, while four people that came in after me, got help before me. Nice.

Love this bar. Great service and a chill atmosphere. We get burgers next door and eat them at the bar. Good selection of beer.

Tripel Karmeliet on tap, Danzig, Bad Brains, and the Dead Kennedy’s on the sound machine in a former house of ill repute-what’s not to like?

Nice and roomy establishment. The bartender was very friendly. There is a pool table in the back. They even have a photo booth. Someone came in to ask if the restaurant next door was a good place to eat. She was very honest and tried to help them out.

A bar perched on the corner of Park and Encinal. Lucky 13 has never been short of sketchy to me based on assumptions. Man, was I wrong. I actually had a great time here. It’s a casual, fun place to hit up after dinner, and the drinks are inexpensive! Pros: — Inexpensive drinks: $ 5 for cocktails — Pool table, arcade games in the back — Plenty of restaurants on Park Street and other bars if you’re looking to walk around in one central area for the night Cons: — Ordered an Amaretto Sour, and I could only taste syrup. WAY too sweet. My friends ordered vodka cranberries, which tasted fine, so I’m not sure if that’s just a drink you shouldn’t order, or if this was a one-time mishap. Tip: Cash ONLY.

What a tasteless first impression. I’ve never been here and decided to stop by for a drink while waiting for a table at a restaurant nearby. It’s a Friday night and the bartenders’ feeling right… halting service to the entire bar to mingle with disgusting, slurring drunk women that sat to the left of us. They all take shots together and totally disregards our presence. We had to sit there for a shit show of the bartenders stroking their own egos when all we wanted were a couple of beers. All three of them were in front of us, no eye contact, no acknowledgement– just jab jab jabbing their mouths. I proceeded to yell at them and wave for service and unfortunately, my volume cancelled out with the noise of the place and was totally ignored. We finally got service– with no «hi» or even eye contact. She kept talking to the drunk ladies and proceeded to shaking her tits. Really? Girl wasn’t even cute, it seemed like any attention she got made her felt more godly. I’m a weekend bartender and sometimes I just don’t understand why bartenders are so showy for no reason. Yore serving people fucking drinks, what else are you doing for the world? Otherwise, the beer selection is broad and the back patio may be the coolest thing here… if you can get past the shit show up front.

Yes, just a dive bar but with a great selection of beers, good service and all that. I was a bit surprised that they served Old Rasputin in a 16 oz glass. Most places serve it in a smaller glass and with good reason: the ABV is 9%. Two 16oz glasses of that and you better not be driving.

Pros: really cool bar, interesting selection of beers on tap, bartenders are really cool and know about the beers, music selection is really good, like a rocker type of bar. Cons: their selection is mainly IPA and other ales, if you’re more of a lager type of guy you’re not in luck, you’ll probably find like 2 or 3 non ale beers. If you ask for something with a few more ingredients like a Cosmo it isn’t very consistent and very very strong. Prices kinda change too, I’ve paid 3 different prices for the same Makers Mark on the rocks. Overall experience, fine if you’re a beer type of person and want nothing else.

I like this spot a lot — probably my favorite spot in Alameda. The layout is cool with lots of room for pinball, an outdoor patio, and other games to have some fun. They have tons of beers on tap and the bartenders have never been rude or unprofessional toward me. I also like the CD jukebox with some of their own mixes thrown in there. Sometimes you don’t want to deal with the internet crap and just want to hear someone’s idea of good tunes and good tunes they are, here at Lucky 13.

Solid spot for after work, after after work, or late at night drinks. Great selection of beers including at least 3 – 4 Belgians at a time. They only take cash(that’s a positive) and don’t have food — but Scolari’s next door has great burgers, fries and awesome sandwiches and will deliver it right to the bar.

Cheap drinks. Good happy hours. Short walk from tons of free parking at the park on the next block. Great covered patio.(Smoker friendly) A dollar for pool. Skee-ball. This place has it all. I’ve never had bad service. The crowd is friendly. Young and old. Shared tables make it easy to make new friends. It’s really a great bar and those tequila sunrises… SO good. Oh also… the restaurant next door will bring your food to you anywhere in the bar or on the patio. Definitely take advantage of that. Great partnership on their part. Haha.

I wasn’t sure what to expect when I walked into Lucky 13. We just ordered at Scolari’s next door and they said that we can get a drink in Lucky 13 to go with our food. Walk in here and saw the array of taps on the ceiling to my left and immediately I knew that this was a beer bar, in a dive bar setting. They had a board up near the front entrance but it really didn’t help me figure out what beers/taps they had that night. I asked for Magic Hat No 9, keg empty. Eventually we both settled on Deschutes Freshly Squeezed IPA. You can tell that it’s a dive bar due to the volume and the amount of drunk people in the room. I heard some people laughing so insanely loud that it caught through all the buzz in the room to my naked ears. Pretty cool atmosphere if you’re into that. I wouldn’t mind coming back here to enjoy another Scolari’s meal with a good beer but would it kill them to have a printed paper beer menu available? It’s already dark in there and the taps are very hard to read and discern what they say. CASHONLY.

I have absolutely no idea why there is so much hype about this place. I have been there so many times but that’s because friends insisted on meeting there but frankly it is a sub par place. If one’s argument is that its just a place to have a drink, well there are so much better places to have drink. 1) Not a very comfortable seating 2) No food(you have to order from next door) 3) No serving(and that doesnt make drinks cheap eaither) 4) I cant even hear music, bad music system 5) They are in too much hurry to clear the tables, is it because they want you to order more or leave as you are just sitting there without drinks? I dont know but it has happened too often with us and doesn’t feel right. Heck the guy will even asked to take away glass of beer when it wasn’t finished. Come on man! I am not going to say anything about the ambiance because it is like a dive bar and I am not against it so long other things are in order. I have to say the bartenders are very nice. But I have found better places on the island and never going there again. Sorry. My recommendation — You can try once, may be you will like it.

Some say that Lucky 13 is the inspiration behind Daft Punk’s hit song Get Lucky. And by some, I mean me. Lucky 13 is the kind of spot you can stay up all night to the sun, and it’s definitely a spot where you can stay up for good fun.(and maybe get lucky?) Lucky 13 is pretty much an expanded dive bar. They’ve got your usual selection of beers, plus a bunch of craft beers you wouldn’t expect out of your typical dive bar. Also, they’ve got a pool table and a skee ball machine in the back. What other bar boasts that eh? Maybe the best thing about Lucky 13 is that since it’s right next door to Scolari’s, you can order food there and they’ll come deliver it to you over at Lucky 13. So you can get awesome food and awesome drinks all in one trip. It seems like it’s always a party here at Lucky 13 whenever I drop in. Great atmosphere and everyone’s pretty friendly. It’s definitely a local spot, but don’t let that intimidate you. Lucky 13 is one of the better spots in Alameda to get your drink on. So head over and you won’t be disappointed.

Pretty much a dive bar. Eclectic Oakland crowd. Pretty wide selection of on tap beers to include PBR«gross»! Over all it was an ok place to grab a drink before dinner

It’s a decent spot for beer. Not the highest quality or biggest selection but the location is super convenient. There’s lots of tables to pick from to sit and talk but it doesn’t take long before most of the tables are taken. Any place that has chimay on tap is a decent spot, basically. One last thing, I really like that you can order scolaris next door and they will deliver in the bar! :) That’s a nice combo.

Good for what it is. A great place to have a drink while you’re waiting for a table at the Burmese restaurant down the street. Nothing fancy, bring cash. Good beer selection. Don’t have much more to say! :)

Not bad. Decent beer selection, no frills cocktails, great jukebox, dim lighting, and a cool crowd. Plus food delivered by Scolari’s next door. What more do you need? Well. maybe a credit card machine. Bring cash.

I hear a lot about Lucky 13, specifically from one of my co-workers who frequents the bar with her husband. I had never been, but had been to the one in the city. We were able to easily grab a seat at one of the tables. I only ordered a beer, but next time I’ll order something else. The bartender was cool as well. I also loved all the posters on the wall. They only accept cash, but they do have an ATM inside.

This bar is a quintessential bar. For me, it is one of a few truly magnificent bars… One of the hidden gems in Alameda. Their beer selection is excellent. Top notch. If you are looking for delicious IPA’s or Belgium’s, this is where you should be. Don’t expect fine dining experience… it’s not that kind of bar, but they are next door to the worlds best(and I’m not exaggerating) sandwich/burger spot, and you can get your sandwich/burger delivered in the bar. Come on the weekend and you are likely to hear some live music… no, not smooth jazz… but local punk/rock bands… if you are old, bring ear plugs. it’s cash only… but that’s the world we live in folks… certainly not going to fault them for it!
