Very happy to have found Laura for my first Brazilian wax experience. She was kind, gentle, speedy, and efficient. She also made me feel very comfortable!
The room is very neat and clean which is always something I look at first. It’s a few days after my appointment and I’m still baby smooth and irritation free. I am so excited for my next appointment.

Laura is the best. I’ve gone to other places and have not found anyone as consistently gentle on my skin. She is also incredibly warm and friendly which is terrific. I was a little worried about doing regular waxing at first because my skin is incredibly sensitive but she has been truly fantastic. Now I won’t go anywhere else.

Laura is the absolute best! I went to her for my first brazilian wax ever and she made it virtually painless. She is so sweet and accomodating. I even love how she has a conversation to help calm down any nerves that could possibly arise. Her knowledge of skin care is absolutely impeccable and she gives you great tips and help on any questions you may possibly have.

I received a gift certificate to Glow Skin Therapy as a Birthday gift. What a treat! I have had facials in the past, this was very relaxing and afterwards I was amazed how relaxed I was the entire day! I received a cider enzyme facial, light therapy for wrinkles. Laura was very professional and friendly. I will definitely be going back! A very nice experience!

I found Laura thanks to all the great Unilocal reviews. I’m 8 months pregnant and needed to get a bikini wax before the big day comes. Laura is flexible in her scheduling which is a big plus and it’s easy to text her for an appointment. I felt super comfortable with her once I arrived and the appointment was painless, quick and thorough. I am so happy to have found a place that’s so close
to home and I will definitely be a repeat client!

I found Laura on Unilocal after I moved from SJ to Alameda, and was bummed that I was leaving the waxologist I was very loyal to. I searched and searched for a hard wax option in Alameda (there aren’t many). I reached out to Laura, but she wasn’t able to take me on since she had a personal issue at the time. I had 2 BAD experiences at European Wax Center, and vowed not to go back.
I reached out to Laura again a few weeks later, and (thankfully) she was back in action. She has a very accommodating schedule and I was soooo glad she was able to see me the following Saturday. By the way, I live across the street (um, really? Yes. This is awesome).
However, (worst first-​time client behavior ever), I didn’t realize I had another event I HAD to attend. So I walked in and told her, and she was so sweet, polite, and forgiving.
We immediately booked my next appointment, and I was very happy with the results. She is so kind, makes you feel very at easy. She has a soft voice, comfortable room, and great conversation. Her prices are affordable and worth the value.
A little FYI… Her room is in a super cute home on the corner of the block. Go into the door to the right of the nail salon, up the stairs, and through the open door on the right. There is a sofa to wait (although she usually waits ON the sofa for me to arrive). She has you fill out a short form for insurance. She then brings you in, and you know how the rest goes. I even took advantage of the Unilocal check-​in offer for a discount!
I haven’t done any skin care services, only waxing, but I hope to soon. Today I booked my third appointment (fourth if you count my terrible first-​time cancellation). My next appointment is late in the evening, which is perfect for my commute back from SF.
Go to Laura! You will love her!

Laura did my Brazilian waxing before I left to go overseas for a year. She made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I would definitely recommend ladies to consider her for your next wax treatment.

Highly recommend Laura! So far working wonders with my skin. I have moderate acne and lots of scars. We’re doing the hydra light therapy (blue/​red light) and I’ve only been twice but noticing a difference in my pore size and redness. She also uses mostly natural and organic products which I appreciate as I have skin sensitivity to harsh chemicals. I bought the package of 6 sessions, and looking forward to the end result! Laura is very personable and the space is clean. Not to mention a perfect location! Haven’t tried waxing yet, but looking into it.

That’s right so if you’re one of my close guy friends then it’s time for you to move along because at this point, it’s about to get a little uncomfortable for ya.
Is it your first waxing? Yes? Mine too. You know, THAT kind of waxing. I finally got around to doing this. Why not go to EWC at Southshore to just go in and out. Well, I don’t know about YOU but I don’t go around showing my lady parts to every and any esthetician who is free. I want to invest in someone I like that (not really specializes in this but) has a good reputation in her skill. If it’s not your first then I STILL recommend her, especially if you live on the island. She’s an alameda native and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen her at my church when I was younger. Small world.
Everyone has their own pain tolerance, I like to think mine is pretty strong so I can tolerate most things. I pierced my nose recently so it couldn’t be as bad as putting a needle through cartilage right? Anyways, she uses hard wax and I don’t know why you would settle for anything else. She knows exactly what she’s doing with it and she is SO SO gentle.
She does facials and light therapy here as well in her cute little room, very easy to feel relaxed at her place. I am definitely coming back here once I have more money in my bank account. Please look her up, she’s a lovely woman who is amazing at what she does.

Glow Skin Therapy is the best! Glow Skin Therapy offers reasonable priced packages and the hours of operation are great! Laura makes the sessions go by smoothly and quickly. Booking via text is super convenient and easy!
I’ll be moving soon and sad to have find another waxer as good and friendly as Laura. Definitely check out Glow Skin Therapy — great little suite and ample street parking.

Laura is amazing! I finally found my esthetician my skin feels and looks beautiful. She uses organic products which is a huge bonus in my book. She is very skilled at what she does and beyond that she is personable, professional and extremely knowledgeable. I couldn’t ask for better service!

I feel so lucky to have found Glow Skin Therapy but more specifically Laura. I came to Laura for a Brazilian and the results were great. She does a very thorough job and is super conscious and respectful of the fact that waxing hurts!

No waxing is not painful. I swear I remember it being less so the first time I got one. However, I have to say the results are worth it. Love the price, love the friendliness and cleanliness. The only thing was some things were missed in places and it had nothing to do with length. I will give it one more try.

Laura is THE BEST! I realized, after my second wax with her, that I get very slow regrowth after one of her waxes because she’s very meticulous about removing hair at the root. I’ve only encountered one other waxer, ever, who was able to do that. It’s a rare talent, really. Because of this, I only have to visit her every 6 weeks, though I could probably push it to 8 weeks.
True story: my cheap ass found her through Groupon. However, I used up my three waxes and decided to purchase another series of three waxes at full price. Guess what? Still ridiculously reasonably priced compared to the competition for incomparable quality of service.
I will continue to see Laura until the day I die.

I came to Glow back in December for some waxing. The location was close to my place and parking was easy. Laura’s studio is located in a larger house (that occupies other businesses) but her space was clean and cozy.
Laura was very friendly, professional and put my nerves to rest. Waxing is never a fun thing but she made the whole experience painless and fast! She did a clean and thorough job and the result was great!
I’d recommend coming to see Laura for your waxing needs. Nothing felt rushed and I felt very comfortable.

I have a usual waxer down in LA that I have a routine with, and when I found myself out of town during my scheduled …*ahem* maintenance time, I looked around and found Glow Skin Therapy. This newly opened studio uses organic, vegan products and offers private services. When I say private, I mean… it is literally you and the owner, Laura. Talk about personalized attention.
Laura did a great job and I loved the products she used on me — all natural products, including beeswax shipped from Spain. She was so thorough that I may try and fit in a trip to this studio on my future trips back home. And the best part? Her rates are so reasonable.
