Wow! Amazing teamwork and Sevice in the bar! Great happy hour. Prices were reasonable, food was fresh, fast/attentive service… Highly recommend it all the way around!

Had a large party there for my daughter’s 100th day. Bad experience. charged us the amount of guests but doesn’t have enough food to serve them. And also charged us adults price for kids. When brought up to jimmys attention, he said he will get back to me with an solution but never follow up.

I came to this bar/lounge on a Saturday night to celebrate my birthday and had a blast. The drinks overall were well made. I can’t speak to the price as I didn’t see a bill(perks of being the birthday girl). The peach Grand Marnier margarita was the only dud of the evening. It was served nearly warm and the peach flavor didn’t pop. There was also a live band playing which got very loud. Luckily, the patio was opened with heat lamps and it was very comfortable. I would visit again and would love to try the food next time.

This is my third and probably last time dealing with this place. The food is good but the service leaves a bit to be desired. I’ve ordered take out on three different occasions one was a pick up and the other two delivery and my food has yet to be ready in a decent time. The delivery I’m waiting for now just reached the 90 minute mark. I probably shouldn’t YWH( Unilocal while hungry) but this is nuts.

I am really confused here. Did I go to a different restaurant than the rest of the reviewers? My family and I ate here after a movie due to the gluten free options. Normally, I write reviews about the gluten free food and menus for my fellow celiacs. Not today. Where to start. The ambiance which was commented on by someone else is a sad affair. This place looks like it may have been nice 20 years ago. The paint is coming off all over the place, the toilet seat in the ladies room has a gross huge stain on it and the furniture upholstery is truly sad. Its a dive and not in the good way. Next, cocktails. I ordered a «Dark and Stormy» which I could not finish. Its a moscow mule but with rum. It was 9 dollars and made with the cheapest rum available so I could not stomach it. My husband ordered a margarita which was fair. My son ordered mango lemonade which he loved and had more of. We had two orders of the prawn spring rolls. I have had better at a divey(in the good way) Vietnamese joint at a strip mall. The peanut dipping sauce was wrong… no acid flavor at all and very goopey… sort of like American peanut butter with extra sugar(not sort of). The filling was missing typical ingredients as well. My husband didn’t like the massive uncut mint leaves inside. I ate them because my main meal was inedible. My son had the catfish(the coconut rice did not come and to be fair, we didn’t ask for it). He didn’t like it. He had never had catfish so I don’t blame this on the establishment, but I tried it and there was nothing Vietnamese about this dish. The actual fish was fresh though. I ordered the spicy phở-like soup. I couldn’t eat it. I have had such wonderful Vietnamese soups!!! How dare they serve this! It smelled terrible and was lacking in the flavor that one expects. The meat looked grey and I didn’t try it. Yuck. My husband’s was the worse… the chicken dish. Dear lord. It was a disgusting pressed patty of chicken meat… totally processed! Our bill with 15 percent tip came to 100 bucks. Ouch. Expensive mistake.

Came here with friends to check out this place as a possible meeting place for 30 people. I find it always to be cozy and intimate as well as having friendly wait staff. We ordered the lemongrass pork curry stir fry, Dragon Fire Garlic Noodles(hot) and the lunch special Dragon Rouge Combo with shrimp skewer, fried egg roll, pork and vermicelli noodles. All were plentiful and tasty. My friend ordered her garlic noodles hot but it was too hot, more than she expected. As a check in gift, we got a scoop of ice cream to share

On Tuesday, two days after my first visit, I went back to Dragon Rouge with two friends. They loved it and so did I! The food was great and our waitress Jenny was friendly, helpful and attentive. Ive changed my rating from three to four stars. $ 12 Vermicelli Noodle Bowl with chicken, prawns and pork rolls(huge bowl, gorgeous presentation) $ 12 Vermicelli Noodle Bowl with chicken(huge bowl, gorgeous presentation) $ 6.50 Fried chicken wings(Very good) $ 6.50? Crêpe Battered Catfish(good, not great. Seemed like it wasnt just made. Not hot out of the fryer.) Lastly, did a check in and got free ice cream with mini banana samosas. Nice. Dragon Rouge. I’ll be back! :-)

My complaint is mostly with poor service while placing a phone order. I asked for what ingredients came in a menu item, and ordered with no bell pepper. I reiterated to the staff member on the phone 3 times no bell pepper.(I hate them, and they flavor everything they touch.) I picked up my order of pineapple salad, with bell pepper in it. It also had a myriad of items I was not informed were a part of this salad, and the salad did not include items I was told would be in it. The staff member informed me they were new, I am shocked they did not ask someone who knew the menu what came in this salad. I would have ordered something else if I was told the ACTUAL ingredients. The other order was of their dragon phở. For a $ 10 phở, I thought there would be more meat. Disappointed in what I paid for there.

Came here on a random Saturday night at midnight, me and a girlfriend were looking for a chill bar to have one or two drinks to end our night. She mentioned she had a friend that threw a private party here a few months back and she raved that the place was chill and had a nice view of the water. Major turn off– 5 $ «entrance fee.» Mind you, I tried to talk my way into the place, «We just want to order a drink and leave.» «We’re spending money @ the bad.» Nope, the girl wasn’t having it. So I bit the bullet and paid that 10 $ for the two of us. Place was sad and empty. There was a DJ somewhere. However. The staff was nice and friendly, they turned on the outside heat lamps for us to sit outside and enjoy the nice, summer weather. Will maybe try this place out on a first Friday, as recommended by the bartender.-

Absolutely love this place ! The atmosphere alone has me hooked. Great Service, great views, and great food, what more can you ask for ? I went on a date and ended up getting stuffed eating their lemongrass curry fries paired with ketchup and an aioli. definitely a helping amount and wouldn’t suggest it if you wanted to eat a meal afterward… or maybe we just have poor appetites. in any case we checked in and got free coconut ice cream which was to die !!! We had a few drinks $ 5 beers and $ 7 glasses of wine .and chatted with an awesome couple from Michigan. It was a lovely time and I can’t wait to go back! Side note: they roast whole pig for catering !

Finally dropped in after seeing many coupons, their Vietnamese egg rolls and curry potato rolls were fabulous. My wife ordered the Dragon Rouge noodle soup. You can specify the spice level. She got the #3…the spiciest. Generous amount of shrimp and beef slices and fat noodles. The only disappointment was that the broth was missing that deep complex flavor that you expect from great soup. The cocktails are good. The location is 4.5 stars and the service 5 stars.

Came here for late lunch with the family last month to celebrate mother’s day. Place was packed! I ordered the dragon roll sampler, garlic chicken noodles, and bouncing beef. My cousins love the garlic noodles. I liked the sampler — it’s great because you can try both fresh and fried spring rolls and the sauces were pretty good. The view is great(by the water), food is good, service is good. I would say that It was a good first experience at Dragon Rouge. Will I be back? sure, but not any time soon.

I have eaten her twice with my parents. The first time was for appetizers, and the second time for dinner. The location is great — it is nice to have a little water view. We sat inside, although the patio seems great. The food here is quite good. We had the watercress salad with wok-seared tofu(a bunch of yummy garlic tofu and rice noodles dumped on top of watercress? Yes, please!), the prawn yellow moon crêpe(awesome — all those bean sprouts and big hunks of prawn), and the garlic basil noodles. All so savory and delicious.

The batch of SFSUCLS students after me are a fun, tight-knit group who have survived the hell known as didactic. One day they decided to do a Friday happy hour and offered me an invitation to join them. I gratefully accepted. VENUE: Located literally right off the Park Street bridge that connects Alameda to Oakland. If you get a good seat you can have a meal while watching the cars go in and out of the city. SERVICE: Good service from the time I arrived. Since we had a big group mandatory gratuity was instituted. DRINKS — Moscow Mule($ 8): Served in a copper mug. A little on the watery side but I could make out the ginger beer and vodka. — Lychee Martini($ 9): Served in a small stemless martini glass. The mix could be more consistent but I appreciated the big lychee in the bottom of the cup. FOOD — Garlic Lemongrass Fries: Fries were consistently crispy and tasted more like curry than lemongrass. There was enough flavor to not need the aioli sauce. — Crispy Calamari: Standard. Had a good amount of pieces with the tentacles. — Crispy Catfish: Crispy batter with a moist, tender meat. — Crispy Garlic Wings: Crispy skin with generous amount of meat for the drumstick. — Mom’s «Phantastic» Roll(Crispy pork imperial roll, sliced hard boiled egg inside a fresh roll): An interesting and delicious take on a traditional spring roll. Hard boiled egg made the roll slightly creamy. — Green Tea Ice Cream: Check-in offer gets you one of four choices of ice cream(vanilla, coconut, coffee and green tea). Ice cream was served in a small cup and had generous portions. After all the fried items served it was a way to satiate my sweet tooth. I have not seen the«Check, Please!» segment covering this restaurant but I would now personally recommend this place for good happy hour in Alameda. This also seems like an ideal place to start a bar crawl if you wanted to have one in Alameda for some reason…

Me and a friend came here on Tuesday night for dinner and drinks and I do have to say that the place was pretty packed, I was actually surprised. But with the place being packed comes the lack of attention you get as well. She tried her hardest to accommodate everyone and we were patient, so it really wasn’t a big deal. We started out with the rolls sampler and lychee martinis. The rolls were all really good! As for the lychee martini, I’ve had better so it was just okay. For dinner we ordered the jumbo prawn garlic noodle medium spicy and the mango salad. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the mango salad. So fresh and tasty, I’ve been craving it since then! Add some sriracha to it for an additional kick that completes it. Garlic noodles are always on point. Next time I will ask for more spiciness, but luckily I was able to add some to my liking.

Considering we are in Alameda, a small suburb, this fusion vietnamese joint is solid. Through the years, I have frequented this restaurant and have to say, I’ve never been disappointed with the food. The food is relatively basic with phở, pork chop rice, spring rolls and the like. All prepped very nicely. Not exactly an out of this world experience if you are looking for something special. The best thing about the DR is that it has beautiful out door seating that over looks the estuary and Park St. Bridge. Today in particular, I decided to Unilocal them because my girlfriend who showed up before me got very upset with the service. It was a little chilly out and she wanted the heating lamps on. When she asked to have them turned on, the waitress was giving her a very bad attitude. If this joint was in chinatown, I would not expect much as service is not their number one priority. But being in Alameda, I expected a little more. We had couple of appetizers, a salad, chicken phở and the pork chop rice. The food really deserves a four. As I see service getting better, I will update the review. As for the bathroom, it’s also nice. No complaints there. Food is solid, service needs work, ambience is great on sunny days. Definitely one of my regular places in Alameda. Until next time, Ciao!

I’ve always passed by this restaurant since it is right next to the Park street bridge. It’s a nice place that overlooks the water and on a clear day it has a nice view. For Sunday lunch, I had the tofu and mixed vegetables claypot with brown rice. There wasn’t much that was special about this claypot. It wasn’t bad but wasn’t spectacular. I’d say it was a typical claypot that you can get at most Vietnamese restaurants but with a higher price of $ 12.00. The veggies were broccoli, bell peppers, cabbage, mushrooms, snap peas and zucchini. The portion size is decent and if you’re trying to eat healthy this is a dish to get.

I was Chilling at the Slab watching a Check Please Marathon. They happen to do a feature on Dragon Rouge. I happen to have a Friend in town that has never had Vietnamese food . So I felt like doing a little Food Education, so I suggested Dragon Rouge and some Vietnamese food. My Friend Happily agreed . So I jumped into my Whip and picked up my Friend and rolled to Dragon Rouge. I parked my Whip in their Parking Lot and rolled in . Their Hostess greeted and seated us. and presented us with a Menu . We Perused their Menu . We ordered — The Rolls Sampler, Won-ton Soup, Catfish Appetizer, Fried Chicken Wings Appetizer, The Shaking Beef and Tiger Shrimp Clay pot. With 2 Bowls of Coconut Rice . Our Server was nice and polite. Not too Attentive as our Water Pitcher was Empty and wasn’t refilled. Also near the End of our meal we were given the Bums Rush too leave because they want to put our table away because they wanted to set up their Business for their Night Club. Unacceptable Behavior . The food was Ok but Their Bum Rush attitude –Didn’t excite me . I wont be returning.

I’ve always wanted to come here and what better way to sample the goods that during Happy Hour? When you enter, the bar is in front with the restaurant adjacent to the bar, they have an outside patio with a lovely view of the Alameda estuary that no doubt would be great to sit in as the sun goes down on a nice summer evening. According to their website they have an «All Day» Happy Hour with the sole exception of Fridays and Saturdays after 6pm… the average prices are from 5 – 7 dollars. How can’t you beat that? They have a wide variety of options for Happy Hour from Vietnamese inspired sandwiches to curry fries to calamari to chicken wings. We decided to sample the chicken wings and deep fried catfish and they both were uniquely flavored and piping hot dishes. The catfish was so wonderful and different that I think I have to go back just for that next time! It was wonderfully deep fried with just a hint of curry that I was so thankful we didn’t get the calamari. The wings were okay unique because they were deep fried with a hint of lemon pepper served with a pepper sauce. They have locally sourced wines from the likes of Rock Wall and R & B Cellars. With great service and good food at affordable Happy Hour prices how can you go wrong? Dragon Rouge a unique hamlet along the Alameda estuary.

I had the Bouncing Beef but it was half tough and I had to spit it in my napkin since I wasn’t ready to have the Heimlich administered. BF had the shrimp salad that he liked. Other than that, we had an attentive server who was very good. We sat on the outside patio and the weather was perfect. The 7th game World Series was on and we could see the television through the window so that was a good thing since we wanted to keep up on the game. We had to leave before the game ended because we were on our way to a concert but we enjoyed the time we spent outside & peeking at the game. The location is right next to the bridge and parking was fine. I’d like to go back and try something different than the chewy tough meat I had ordered.
