Awesome. I had a mess in 2014 and Lloyd helped me so much. It was my first time using a professional preparer and he was really easy going the entire time… I asked tons of questions and he never acted like I was an idiot.
Did a bunch of 1099, plus my regular job, and Lloyd made the entire process as painless as possible and minimized what I had to pay… it was almost a full $ 1000 less than the online software (from a major national company).
Already called and have appt. set for the 2015 tax year.

Very professional, easy to work with and reasonably priced. Lloyd has done my taxes for years and I can contact him year round if I have questions about my income properties. Lloyd even helped me refile a previous year that I did not use his services for a bigger refund. This year I received a W2 late after I filed my taxes with him and he recalculated and reprinted my return and had it waiting for me at no charge.

Filed my taxes with Lloyd for 3 years, unfortunately this year will definitely be my last. Had the worse customer service experience after filing my taxes with him this year, Lloyd told me he was unsure about my healthcare told me he needed to watch a 3 hour video about it. (Red flag) So he filed my taxes and told me to call kaiser member services and ask a few questions and call him back to make changes. After I called kaiser, I tried emailing Lloyd, calling him, leaving voicemails, even left Andrew a message for Lloyd to call me back, 2 months pass by and still no answer. Finally took time off work and just walked in and waited, worst customer service ever. Someone filing your taxes should be easy to get a hold of, not just take your money and run. Bad business practices here, would not recommend anyone going here, if you ever need to get ahold of them Goodluck

This place is great. Just had my taxes done by Andrew and I couldn’t be happier. The price was ¹⁄₃ of what I was paying to a CPA. These guys are both EA (Enrolled Agents) and are certified by the IRS. Big thumbs up. I’ll be back next year.

Great professional service. I had an issue with another local tax provider and was in need of someone to assist in my tax preparation. These guys took great care of me and were reasonably priced. I would recommend them anytime and am a customer for life.

Lloyd has been doing my taxes for the last few years and I have been extremely happy to do business with him. He always gets my taxes done on time and he does great job for reasonable price. He is a very pleasant, nice guy and I highly recommend him.

Make it easy on yourself and take your taxes to Andrew (and Lloyd!)
They make the process effortless and are easily worth the trip to Alameda but they can also conduct the whole show electronically.
Taxes? Done!

I truly, really, honestly cannot find enough great things to say about Lloyd Phraner’s astoundingly terrific tax services!
I first discovered Lloyd’s services about 10 years ago and have been going to him ever since for my tax needs. The man is a complete genius… he has a way with numbers that is simply uncanny! It would be hard for me to overstate how much I dread doing my taxes… left to my own devices I would happily put it off until the bitter end (and beyond) every year, but ever since I’ve been working with Lloyd I’ve started to see the whole process as more painless and actually even quite fun from time to time. Lloyd keeps me entertained (today he even fed me delicious home-​cooked Hungarian food while we worked… okay, I can get used to this kind of accounting!) and he is so much fun to talk to while we work through all the steps of filing my taxes. He’s also helped me out of a couple of confusing accounting situations, and he is very down to earth so he’s always able to chill me out whenever I start to get stressed out about the process (I’m not great with numbers, so this is not exactly an infrequent occurrence.) He’s also extremely patient, which is helpful since I always seem to forget the details regarding the various categories for my Schedule C from year to year. Not to mention, he’s always up on all the latest fine print and fundamentals in the tax law… I have no idea how he does this since it’s always changing, but I guess it’s all part of the Genius of Lloyd.
Honestly, if you’re struggling with doing your own taxes and just not enjoying it, you owe it to yourself to check out Lloyd’s establishment. You’ll be glad you went! I’ve recommended tons of people to him and everyone has been thrilled with his work. Oh, and it’s right across from the Tiki Bar in Alameda, so you can treat yourself to a fancy cocktail once you’ve finished :)

I was referred to their services and since then, Andrew has been great and I no longer have to search for another person to do our taxes. I truly recommend him and his business partner too (even though I haven’t use him but I know both of them are very trustworthy). Their fess are more reasonable vs what I’ve experienced in the past.

This is my third year going to Andrew Alatorre to prepare my income tax filing. Andrew is very professional, trustworthy, and helpful. Now that my partner and I are registered as Domestic Partners, it was great to know that Andrew is very knowledgeable and aware about our tax needs.
