They told me that I had arthritis in my back and that this is why my head hurt so bad. Uhh. NO!!! over $ 300 later, I was told by a real doctor that I had a bulging disc in C2 and that they, American Family, were wrong. smdh. But they billed me another $ 179.

I have been to the American Family Care clinics three times now, two different locations, for the same physical. They have done nothing but push me around and not do what needs to be done. The third time I had to go to a different location because of school. The day prior I called the new location and told them my physical had already been started at the Alabaster location and they said it wouldn’t be a problem and it shouldn’t cost. $ 75 later I’m still sitting here waiting for a physical that should’ve been finished weeks ago. And that $ 75 was just the last time in Tuscaloosa, I was also charged the last two times. I will never return To another one of these clinics. I also came once when I was sick, prior to needing a physical, and the doctor kept me waiting for 3 hours and sent in a tech go do a test. The tech said they’d be back in 15 minutes another hour later they finally came back. Each time the doctor saw me it was for less than one minute.

If you want quality care do not waste your time here. The «Dr» examined me for approximately 45 seconds and was never seen again. And don’t expect them to want to see you again if their treatment fails. They quickly brush you off to the emergency room and wash their hands of you. I would have gotten better and safer care from my pet’s vet. If you can’t wait, go to the ER but don’t endanger your health by going here.

It’d be great if you went in with strep throat symptoms and were actually tested. Instead, now with their in and out in an hour rule, they don’t test any of your symptoms. You simply get the «treatment» and scripts that the rest of the population has gotten before you. They assume you have the same sickness, when in fact you could have something totally different but they don’t bother to check. The only redeeming quality is the pharmacy. The pharmacy crew is very nice and helpful.
