Steak ‘n Shake

Issue #1 We all ordered milkshakes with our dinners. They brought out the milkshakes first, which was about 15 minutes later, and they were already melting, as if they were sitting and waiting to be taken to the table, so they were runny and not thick at all.
Issue # 2 They brought out the milkshakes first and didn’t bring our food out for another 25 minutes later. So now we are all filled up from milkshakes and didn’t want to eat all of our dinners.
Issue#3 The restaurant was packed when we first got there. They seemed to be understaffed or poor management of employees that were there. The employees showed the stress, they were not pleasant at all. After being seated and order taken, we waited a total of 40 minutes before getting our dinners.

We got so tired of waiting, we got up and left. Lunch time but plants of empty tables. Severely understaffed. Will never go back.

My mom and I went here and there was a pregnant waitress doing all of the work and no one helping her, after we got home, the next day she had gotten food poisoning from here. If you want good service, go to the one in Medina, Ohio. Oh, by the way the floors are greasy and the tables are dirty (just a heads up).

Went there yesterday. Service was so, so at best. Food portions have diminished. Milk shakes were watery. What happened? It once was a nice place. I would not recommend this restaurant as it now presents itself.

All Steak ‘n Shakes are the same. Service is how I tell them apart. The food was good, came out hot, but service is lacking severely. We waited FOREVER for a table. When we were finally seated, it took almost 15 minutes for our drinks to come and order to be taken. Everything here is SLOW. Friendly, but SLOW. I’m going to try to avoid this location in the future.

Delicious, cheap, good service. Can’t ask for much more. Not to mention their shakes are top quality.

It’s been quite a while since I’ve eaten at a Steak N Shake. I didn’t remember the fries to be such a skinny cut. I think on their menu they should indicate their fries as being more like a shoestring cut frie. I was disappointed when my plate was delivered. But, my wife had the patty melt. She said it was excellent. And she loves to Steak and Shake fries and steak burger seasoning.

You’re going to get bad service 40% of the time. Since the average meal is like $ 6, I’m thinking they have a hard time paying people to continue working there. It’s alright. Don’t expect too much, but you won’t pay much either.

This Steak ‘n Shake is one of the worst ones in the area I’ve been to. It’s pretty dirty. Service is sketchy sometimes. Tony is a good server though. I usually get the frisco melts.
I think I’ll start going to the Streetsboro store and check that one out.

We had the worst service ever. The food was cold. It took them forever to get the food out to us. They never did get all the food out. We asked for a manager and another 10 minutes went by. I finally called on the phone and asked for a manager. Finally a woman showed up but she was not the manager. Poor poor service and food was very cold.

I’ve never had a worse experience at any of the several Steak N Shake locations I’ve dined at as I did at this location. The waitress did not pay attention when I gave my order as when I ordered a triple steak burger with cheese, it arrived without cheese. Now, I’m not normally one to complain about my food but I wanted cheese on my burger. I had to wait until I could flag her down several minutes later to say that my burger was not what I had ordered, so she took the entire plate back, and TEN minutes later came back with it, with ICE COLD cheese plopped on the top burger only, and by this point the entire burger and fries had gotten cold.
My friend who was with me could tell i was visibly pissed off at the treatment I received and I ended up leaving no tip for the waitress who had served me… which is also something I normally would not do except under circumstances that prove it necessary.
When being rung out for my meal, I apparently still looked rather pissed off according to my friend and when I was asked how the meal was, I responded with «horrible». The person ringing me out didn’t ask me for details, and didn’t offer to take anything off the order.
I ended up filing a complaint online with the store and received a call from the store manager, however I was not in and they said they would call back the next day… and I have yet to hear back from them. Disappointed? You bet. This is not a location I would be back to unless certain circumstances kept me from going to any other location.

I don’t know what’s worse here. the incompetent server who has me wait forever and is rude or the loudmouth cooks who run out of bkfast stuff EVERYTIME I’ve tried to go. We can hear ur disgusting conversations from behind the pop machine and kitchen. Always dirty and disappointing! I’ll grab bkfast at bobevans thank u! Uggh!

Don’t fuck with me, I grew up in Indiana where Steak-​N-​Shakes outnumber Starbucks and Wal-​Marts combined. It was a great place to sit around, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes til dawn. Folks, I ate with Steak-​N-​Shake. I knew Steak-​N-​Shake. Steak-​N-​Shake was a friend of mine. And Akron location, you’re NO Steak-​N-​Shake.
Steak-​N-​Shake, as a whole, isn’t known for its service but I’m really not sure where they got the idiots that staff this store. I’ve never been there and not gotten an order fucked up. One time, the waitress brought a bowl of soup out to us with her bandaged nasty thumb stuck in it. Are you fucking serious!!! That’s just FOUL! The store is always filthy and disgusting, with a dozen or more tables waiting hours to be bussed. It almost always seems like the silverware or plates are dirty too.
This Steak-​N-​Shake has also perfected the famed Drop-​N-​Run, where the waitress brings the check with your meal and you NEVER EVER see her again! Once, sensing an imminent Drop-​N-​Run coming, we asked for more ice water when the food arrived. Instead of filling the water, the waitress immediately walked out of the store and began chain-​smoking, and when finished came in and worked on sudoku puzzles, ignoring our existence. Want to talk to a manager? Be prepared to talk to some 11-​year-​old punk who doesn’t give a shit. Point is, if you want service, you shouldn’t eat here, and they’re more than happy to demonstrate that point to you again and again.
Bad thing is, SNS is kinda like fast food with table service. The food’s usually pretty good (when it comes out right and isn’t «thumbed»), though the prices seem to reflect a belief that we’re experiencing Soviet-​collapse style inflation. $ 4.79 for a Frisco Burger a la carte? It’s delicious but geez people. Maybe the premium is there to pay for the table service, but when the service sucks this bad, perhaps I’d be better off with a $ 1 McDouble.
The dilemma with SNS is this: now that I’m in Akron, SNS is a good way to get a bit of Indiana locally. It reminds me of that hyperromanticized «home,» by bringing back those times I was talking about before, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes and being teenage dirtbags, etc. And I genuinely like SNS, in theory — which is the only reason this place didn’t get a one-​star-​only review — but how has the corporate office not bulldozed this location yet?
