Monro Muffler Brake & Service

I’ve previously had both positive and negative experiences at this location, as well as others in the Akron/​Canton area. This past weekend, my girlfriend’s brake light came on in her 2006 Hyundai Sonata, and there was a noticeable issue with her brake pressure. She dropped her car off here to find out what the issue was, as she had just gotten her brakes fixed a few months ago. About an hour and a half after dropping her car off, Monro called her back saying there wasn’t anything wrong with her car. Clearly there was an issue so on the way home she stopped at Advance to see if they could get a trouble code, which the Advance employee (who was more than happy to help) noticed that there was no brake fluid at all. How did Monro not notice this? Trained professionals trying to fix a brake issue and they didn’t even check the fluids? This is absurd. Are they poorly trained? Stupid? Lazy? We’ll never know for sure, but the negative experiences at various Monro locations have definitely outweighed the positives, which are few and far between. I don’t believe we will be taking our vehicles to any Monro locations any longer.

I have been coming to this location for years because I live very close. I can’t say I have ever been 100 percent satisfied with the work of the customer service especially, but I have never had a huge problem there until now. We took my car in because the tire of our car was rubbing against our fender and driving really poorly. We have a 2 year old little girl and we need to make sure our car is safe. So we bring it in and explain the problem and ask one of the guys to specifically look for the problem and told him what was going on. A couple hours later we receive a call saying they did an alignment and it’s ready. Pick it up.30 seconds later the problem is still there. The next time my husband got in the car to drive it the cradle had broken completely and he lost control of the car. Luckily nothing bad happened and everyone was safe. Clearly these guys did not take the time to look at the car. They noted the symptoms and decided an alignment would do. That is poor work. It is unacceptable. We have called and they are rude (nothing new) we will have to get the car fixed only to get another alignment even though this could have been fixed if they didn’t do an alignment on a car that had a problem. So we are out the money for an alignment that shouldn’t have been done and out the money to get it fixed and get another alignment. Shame on this place. Get some guys in there that actually know cars and won’t do half ass jobs.

DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE. They just want your money, they don’t actually care whether or not they fix your vehicle.

The staff at the Wallhaven Monro Muffler/​Brake & Service was hands down the best experience I’ve ever had at a car shop. The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and extraordinarily accommodating. They worked within my time constraints even without an appointment and even taught me the basics on how my car brake system. I will be back for all of my automotive needs and strongly recommend to anyone who asks.

After posting my review I was contacted by Monroe corporate and then by a District manager. The manager worked with me to take care of the pricing difference so I have changed my rating.

It’s refreshing to still find honest repair shops out there. Not the one’s that pressure you with all the red yellow green charts and adding on anything and everything they can, regardless of what you came in for. I have went to this location 3 times now and have never felt pressured. The guys offer to show you anything they find on your car. Plus, they make RECOMMENDATIONS, and leave it at that. No pressure. No attitudes if you don’t buy a thousand dollars in repairs. All around good experience all three times I went there.

My first experience here today was very positive. I went in thinking I needed brakes, rotors and tires but left with only what I needed — and with a few hundred dollars that I intended to spend still in my pocket.
