I had to come give Metro Burger some love, since there are so many Negative Nancys crapping all over it. My family enjoys this place. Yes, it costs more than eating at McDonald’s. It is also not even close to that type of food. The menu is simple to read and very self-explanatory. If you are unable to figure it out, you should definitely not be allowed to drive or operate heavy machinery. The prices are conveniently printed right on it. You have a choice of, you know, not ordering anything should you find it too expensive. They have a great variety of toppings, cheeses, and bread. 95% of the time, I get the same exact thing.(Turkey burger w/white cheddar, caramelized onions, and roasted portabellas on a pretzel roll) We probably eat here once a month and they have never gotten any of our orders wrong. For sides, we usually share an order of sweet potato fries or onion rings, both of which get the thumbs up. We actually just tried to eat there on Saturday 2÷4÷12, and there was a sign on the door saying they are temporarily closed for remodeling. Maybe once they open back up the people complaining about the ambience will give it another chance.

Overpriced, disgusting, terrible burgers. As others have mentioned, you’re better off going to Swensons, Mr Zubs, or really anywhere other than Metro Burger. I love their check box ordering, though. Very clever. It’s just a shame that they can’t offer a better product for the price.

I miss Metroburger from living in Akron. It’s got the ambiance and organization of a chain, but it’s actually local. I could point out a few places in Cleveland where it could fit right in.. . The check-box menus are a fantastic idea, given that the number of toppings gets pretty overwhelming. The possible combinations of bun, filling, topping, size, and sauce are pretty staggering. Best of all, it’s veg-friendly with a lot for the carnivores. I don’t have all that many complaints. It does tend to get pricey. I’ve noticed that they occasionally run out of certain toppings, which at least shows that they make them fresh. I’m torn on the whole«multiple patty» thing, though. While it does shorten cooking time, I feel like the meat doesn’t hold its juices as well.

I’ve been to Metro Burger several times. Usually after having not eaten all day and starving, which, you would think, would boost up my appreciation for the food. Well…it didn’t work. Yesterday before class, I got a ½lb burger with caramelized onions, grilled peppers, roasted red peppers, and basil pesto mayo on a pretzel roll with sweet potato fries. The best I can say is, «Meh. Not hungry anymore.» They’re decent, but you’d be much better off heading to Swenson’s(never thought I’d say THAT in a million years) or Mr. Zub’s. Metro Burger isn’t bad. But it’s not good either. And for the price, it should be awesome.

The sandwiches are great, as is all the topping choices. However, I am giving it 3 stars because of price. A little more expensive then I think it should be…

As I have said before, Akron is a burger town. I came here to see if this place was worthy of all the hype it was getting. This place sells gourmet burgers, along with some beer brands for all the twenty-somethings who stroll through the area. The big gimmick here is that everybody orders on a piece of paper listed on a clipboard. You can either make your own burger or order a pre-designed specialty burger. These burgers are ordered in increments of 1⁄3 lb., and are made out of beef, turkey, chicken(I think), and they also have a vegan burger for all the hippies. The number of toppings available here are astounding — you can only order up to four toppings at a time for free, but the list is rather long. The number of cheeses available is also incredible. A word of advice: try smoked gouda on a burger once, and you’ll never go back. For the extremely hungry, there’s a 3 lb. food challenge. Eat a 9-patty burger and fries in 20 minutes, and you win. I talked to the cashier about the odds, and out of roughly 130 people who have tried it, only 25 have eaten it in under 20 minutes — a 19.23% success rate. The burger I had had wheat bread, smoked gouda, banana peppers, jalapenos, lettuce, and tomatoes, and the patty was made out of beef — I am a man, after all. It was delish. It was exactly how I like my burgers: a little greasy, juicy, warm, and fresh. The only downside I saw was how expensive it could get: a 2⁄3 pounder with fries and a drink costs $ 10.39. The burgers are on par with Five Guys, but the cost might be an issue for some customers.

Metroburger HAS… gimmicky ordering process featuring clipboard and a pencil, greasy and overpriced burger/fries, overwhelming selection of toppings to choose from. Metroburger IS… trying to be trendy and hip but ends up being like any other fast food joints. Metroburger ISNOT… the place I’d visit if I want good burgers at great value. Might as well go to Swensons or Five Guys.

yum! .Now I’m definitely a burger junkie and this place for sure satisfied my cravings! I love that you order by writing everything down on a sheet of paper that you give to the cashier(saves time and lets you see the many choices metroburger has to offer). I really recommend the turkey burger if you want a healthy burger:) It is definitely delicious! But by far my favorite thing about metro burger is the sweet potato fries! Order the sweet potato fries:) They are delicious and definitely worth it! The only let down about this place is the price which can get up to $ 10 if you get extra toppings(like me who gets avocado; I can’t resist!) But a basic combo is under ten but in my opinion worth it!

*Sigh* Man, I love burgers. I really wanted to love Metroburger. It’s within walking distance of my house, creative ingredients, unique concept. And I think the food is okay. If I were just reviewing the food, I’d probably go with 3.5 stars. Here’s my beef: 1) You write in your order by filling out a form. Okay, I think this is a pretty good idea. So why 4⁄5 times is my order incorrect? There seems to be little room for communication errors, yet they happen more frequently than most places. 2) It takes FOREVER for the orders to come out. I can’t really seem to come up with a reason for this. 3) The dining room is really uncomfortable. It’s not the kind of place you would want to linger – or eat a meal, really. I feel like burgers from this kind of place really don’t work as take-out places. By the time you would get your meal back to wherever you were going to eat it(in my case, my apartment was within a block of here), your burger would be cold. 4) I want the option of putting a fried egg on my burger. Haha, well this isn’t that big of a deal… It would be really easy to improve on these points!

Went here for lunch a couple days ago. The menu is different. You fill out what you want on a menu/sheet and then just hand it to the cashier. There are A LOT of choices. I had the veggie burger and if you didn’t know it was a veggie burger you would never have known. It looks just like ground beef. Since I’ve been vegetarian for awhile, I can’t say whether it tastes like ground beef, but I was almost fooled. You get to pick a cheese, 4 toppings, your bun, and a dressing/condiment. They also have sweet potato fries which I always love! The food is great! I will definitely be back!

Gourmet burgers? what… Yes, you can have burgers with fancy toppings. It feels like a Five Guys, but with more toppings. The burgers are good and filling and they make it easy to try things you haven’t normally ate on a burger with a piece of paper that has over 30 things for your burger. It’s a little confusing, but after your first time, you’ll probably come back :)

Metroburger is a decent place to get a bite to eat. It is certainly a better option than the Chipotle next door, but as an out-of-towner when I am in Akron, I would normally prefer a Mecca-like trip to Swenson’s for a burger. But I digress. Metroburger was super confusing for me the first time I went. You walk in and there is no menu– just a pile of complicated looking papers and a little basket of pencils. Upon closer examination, it is in fact a build-your-own burger request form. You pick your meat(beef, turkey, chicken, veg) and then you can go to town picking toppings, from cheese to avocado, bacon, roasted red peppers, portobello mushrooms, and a huge selection of sauces– or you can pick one of their pre-selected options. Then you also pick fries– potato, sweet potato, or onion rings. I have tried the turkey burger and the beef burger. The beef one is tastier and less heartburn-inducing, but both are reasonably good. The egg roll is greasy but tasty. The toppings are all pretty good. I think that the sweet potato fries are better than the potato ones, and the beer cheese makes the entire meal really tasty. It’s a good place to go for a quick lunch or dinner with friends.
