The food was really bad for the price. $ 60 for a rack of lamb but then they melted goat cheese over top of it. Who does that? They also cooked my medium rare almost past medium well. I would have sent it back but the entrees had already taken over an hour to arrive. Whoever came up with these recipes needs to think about more nuance and less about how they can pack more flavors on top of flavors. If this restaurant was in a metropolitan area it would have shut down already. Other than the food, the service was awesome and the ambiance is cozy.

Excellent. Everything we have tried at both the lodge and grill has been excellent. Best restaurants ever. The Japanese shrimp appetizer is delicious. We are from Chicago and new to Ohio and have been disappointed in the food until Ken Stewart’s. Far better than anything else nearby. Try it!

Amazing meal & service! Blown away by the food but also the service. I can’t recall a better dining experience in my 52 years. Our server, Justin, was spot on in every respect. Beverage refills, clearing, timing & follow-up were exceptional. The French onion soup, creamed spinach & crab legs were phenomenal. Yup, it’s pretty crazy expensive but the value was absolutely there. Can’t wait to go back!

For me this is a special occasion dining experience. It’s expensive. The menu is huge once the specials are read off and the food is very good. But I really like the lodge atmosphere. And it’s close to home.

Pros: Waitress was very friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. French onion soup was delicious and so were the truffle fries. Cons: For a «fancier» restaurant I would expect to not be sitting in a torn booth with sticky packaging tape holding it together. My steak was cooked very uneven and my husband’s burger was so salty, he almost couldn’t eat it. They were out of 2 items on their regular menu and told us before ordering they only had 2 strip steaks left. I would rate the au gratin potatoes and garlic mashed potatoes at a 4⁄10. Our bill for 4 people was $ 287 without tip and I would overall rate the food a 5⁄10. Not worth the money, in my opinion. Flemings, Delmonico’s, and Hyde Park blow this place out of the water.

Update. We dined here again after a couple of years and the fillets were again excellent. Very good service and our food was excellent. It was also very very expensive again. We usually only go for a special event or celebration.

Phenomenal. My husband and I have never had a bad meal here, in fact, have only had exceptional meals! It’s definitely a place we reserve just for special occasions, as it is expensive, but we both feel it’s worth every penny. Great service, delicious food from appetizers to dessert. Cozy, romantic setting. We LOVE The Lodge!!!

Good food but too expensive. I thought there were to many specials and frankly got tired of listing to our server go over them. It disrupted our flow of conversation at the table. Definitely not a good play to discuss business

This is one of those places that you go to as an event. Wanna quick meal? Go to Olive Garden. Want to be treated to a high quality meal that you can enjoy with friends and family? Come here! The menu changes almost daily, and it’s all freshly prepared and often locally sourced(E. G. The walleye) Love the food, love the service, love the ambiance. You really need to come here if you haven’t been.

Low standards of quality. Low class. Brought a stripper in to the bar area in front of everyone. Not a family restaurant. Not a place to take business clients. Not a place for a romantic dinner. Avoid.

We ate here a few days ago on Good Friday. I ordered the«special» which was a blackened grouper in a lemon sauce. While it did taste fine, I did question my husband eating with me if it was grouper. I eat grouper all the time and get it from a well known fish place. So this hunk seemed to have strange fatty looks to it. My hubby could not tell, so I just ate it. Now this next part is gross, but a must tell. Upon my next bowel movement after eating here, I noticed something that has NEVER happened to me before and I’m 40. There was a strange greenish oil!!! I was freaking out so went to investigate on the computer. Low and behold, there r 2 types of fish that when consumed can cause this, and after looking at multiple pictures of the one fish, it did look like what I had on my plate!!! Very similar looking to grouper only this is called Escolar! Now, I can’t prove it for sure, but with what I just discovered and the fact I even did question the type of fish when I was there, I’m almost certain. So with that, and knowing we paid $ 150 for a meal for 2 just to be deceived, I do NOT recommend this place and I Will NOT be eating at this or any of his other restaurants EVER!!!

Maxwell’s review is spot on. I would go here again if someone else were paying. You don’t get your money’s worth with food quality but it is a nice place for a quiet dinner.

We came here after finding it on Unilocal.I Was really surprised by how great this place was. I wasn’t expecting much from a local place in Akron but really enjoyed our meal here. We stopped by for lunch; we were promptly seated and waited upon. The server knew his stuff and was great. I got the burger and fries. The burger was a normal burger, but the fries were excellent, they had truffle oil which really set them apart. The ambiance was nice too, very log-cabin but it worked for the place. I would love to go back for dinner the next time I’m in Akron

I work in fine dining and have been to some great places around the world. There are only two where I paid more than $ 70 for a steak: Wolfgang Puck’s CUT in Beverly Hills(for American Wagyu beef, $ 110) and the Ritz Carlton Tokyo, where we had Kobe beef tempanyaki(I won’t disclose that one). I do wish however our server had disclosed the price of this«special» as she presented it, given that everything on the menu is priced much lower. While perfectly fine, this restaurant in not CUT, and I don’t understand the price relative to its competitive set. The food was good, but not even close to the top NE Ohio restaurants(Greenhouse Tavern, Dante, Crop, Lola, Albatross). The service was good but slow. Pleasant evening but overpriced for what it is.

This place is really expensive. They give you way more food than anyone could possibly eat in a meal. It tastes really good but by the time I’m done with the monster salad and the giant appetizer, I am done and the sixty dollar steak has nowhere to go. I ate it anyway and I was packed to the gills. I got maybe six pounds of fries with the steak and nobody sneered at me for getting fries with a steak. French people do it, right? I ate it all. I mean all of it. I shared some champagne to wash it down but started with a fancy beer and the whole thing was gluttony and I appreciate that. If places that give you three scallops on a plate and call it dinner bother you, go to this place and get a lot of things and you’ll never be hungry again. Never ever again. The tip was astronomical and I wish I worked there because wow does that waiter make some scratch. I wouldn’t get the twenty percent he deserved but even a sympathy 10% of $ 300 is enough to buy a blender-full of whopper juniors and a bottle of really harsh sinus-clearing tequila. I would do that every night until I got fired for being too fat. Everyone at this place is better-looking than me, too. There’s that. I have drifted from the point which is that Kevin S is wrong and this place is a bargain at any price and the food is awesome and the big crowds are because people can do something big maybe once or twice a year and this Ken Stewart’s Lodge is it and you won’t be looking for a pb & j wondering where your week’s salary went. You’ll know. Worth it.

Happy hour martinis were a well presented. We tried Carmel Apple and Citrus Ice Tea martinis. Steak, cesear salad, & crème brûlée were delightful. Supper by the fire created a a cozy and enjoyable evening. New waiter who is learning the ropes.

I had to go back. Had to. Dear friend was singing in the lounge, and I would go anywhere, do anything to hear that voice. A Unilocal colleague and I head into the Lodge, then hang a Louie into the bar/lounge area, which is already pretty full, no room at the bar or the tables except… here’s one! Right by the door, at the end of the bar. We sit down, the music starts and we wait. Two songs in, we surrender and go up to the bar to grab a vodka drink and a cabernet. Twenty-four dollars, US. Okay, sure. Anything to hear that voice. A parade of Kenny’s Helpers walk past our table. The second round, back to the bar. No assistance available. Kenny Helper chats with another Kenny Helper, so close we can hear their plans for tomorrow, yet not QUITE close enough to render service. Show concludes, we sit around talking, now with only about half as many patrons as before. After two hours, a waitress stops by. Anything you guys need? Uh, not now. We’ve been sitting here for the past two hours. Her response? «This table isn’t usually here.» Really. That’s the best you can do. Why in the name of all that is holy does anyone ever eat here? One-half of one star, because we were able to hear that beautiful woman sing.

Une cabane en rondins dans un lieu tres charmant. Les serveurs/serveuses sont tres sympa et flexible. Le plateau de fruits de mer est excellent et les steaks aussi.
